I recently had a dream that revealed a fascinating way that the Lord is able to reach a human heart: I saw the Lord's invisible hand touch a Believer's sandal while their foot was in it. He supernaturally changed the latch on the sandal. He was preparing these feet for something important.
While this was happening, I heard the Lord speak these words: "I'm making you look like Me, so they don't forget Me."
I woke up and immediately knew He was referring to His partnership with us to bring in the lost. I remembered two Scriptures:
"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'"Â (Isaiah 52:7 NIV)
"... with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace." (Ephesians 6:15 NIV)
God is Lord of the harvest, not us. It's not about us doing something extraordinary but about Him doing something extraordinary with us. He is making His Bride look like Him so that the world will remember God.
"But how can the world remember God if they have never known Him?" you may ask.
Original Design
This dream from June 2026 reminded me of a dream I had twenty-three years ago about God creating a human. The dream from 2003 became foundational to my life and ministry, but it was only part one of what the Lord revealed to me about the human design.
Here is my original dream, which I published in three of my books and have shared over the last twenty-three years. It is an absolute key to our lives personally. But this dream is not only about our identity as Believers; it is also about healing for the world.
"Colorado, 2002: It was past midnight. I woke up feeling His unmistakable presence in the room. As I walked to the bathroom, I caught a glimpse of my shadowed form in the mirror, the sight of which triggered a memory of a dream I'd just had. The entire dream flooded back instantly, as if my blurry image in the bathroom mirror had jerked my mind back to that holy place in the dream. I sat on the corner of my bed, stunned. It was as if God had taken my spirit to a place I had been before but had long forgotten.
"The dream unfolded like a movie: it was about me before I was born. The atmosphere was dark with a holy silence, and though I couldn't see with my eyes, I perceived clearly with my spirit. There I was, a mixture of shadows and organic forms, but I did not look human yet. God was very close to me, hovering almost skin to skin over me, with overwhelming emotion. His feelings were like an electrical current of pure excitement. He was utterly captivated by what He was doing, as if nothing else mattered to Him. (Photo via Pixabay)
"I felt His excitement, mixed with serious precision, as if He was a surgeon creating something that was absolutely critical to Him. As He worked, the unseen audience around us held its breath, watching in complete awe. No one dared to utter a sound during such a holy moment. Clearly the Master was doing something magnificent, His riveting focus and delight was solely on me.
"I was stunned at the unspeakable dream I had just witnessed. The holy silence, His enthralling focus and intense excitement as He created my being. There was no adequate word to describe my emotions. I fell back asleep with the raw imprint of His presence in my being.
"The next morning I realized that the experience had left a tangible impression on me. I had seen a part of Him that I never knew existed, His tender, vulnerable nature exposed to me in a way that changed me.
"I could not shake the experience from the night before as I started my day. I had to stop at the bank before going to a weekly prayer meeting. In that season, I hated going to the bank as it reminded me of the financial quandary we were in. But that day my old worries paled under the weight of my new reality that God tangibly cared so intimately for every part of me, including my finances. As I stood in line, I noticed that everyone seemed rather down. Perhaps they too had financial burdens, I thought. However, the woman who stood in front of me had a different composure compared to the others, and as we exchanged a smile, I reflected that surely she knew Him too.
"At the prayer meeting a woman sat next to me and to my surprise, it was her, the lady from the bank. I was so surprised and glad to see her. 'What is your name?' I whispered as the prayer was about to begin.
"'Conception.'
"Her name startled me, I wanted to tell her about my conception dream from only a few hours before, but the prayer meeting had begun. When I opened my eyes, Conception was gone. I never saw her again. I don't know if she was human or angelic, but I know God had sent her to me."

In this dream, it was as if God had allowed me to remember Him while He was creating me—something that I could never have remembered on my own. Yet He triggered something inside my spirit that made me remember.
Remembering the God They Don't Know
When I dreamed about the sandal in June 2026, I realized that if every human being was created like I was, then every human had a time in their life when they experienced the presence of God in the most intimate way while He was creating them, knitting them together in their mother's womb.
Our human spirit can forget, but the Lord wants the human spirit to be triggered to remember the One who created them. Many times, for us to remember something we have forgotten, we have to see something familiar that triggers that memory back to us. (Photo via Unsplash)
What if the Lord is making us look like Him through Holy Spirit's power at work in us—our hearts, attitudes, love, truth, and wisdom? And what if He wants us to flow in His power as Holy Spirit flows through us? What if He is partnering within us to change us and make us more like Him, so when people encounter us, something inside them triggers a memory, like a "déjà vu moment," revealing something lost, creating that unsettling yet compelling feeling that there is more, and this deep yearning awakens them to their true origin?
Their spirits will come alive as they are drawn back to their true Father. I believe this is part of the supernatural harvest that the Lord is partnering with His Church to bring to pass.
We Can't Reach People with Human Effort Alone
We were never meant to evangelize on our own. I love all the ways we evangelize. Everyone is precious to the Lord, but there is something the Lord wants us to know: We don't do it by ourselves.
When Jesus said the Holy Spirit was coming to convict the world of righteousness, sin, and judgment, He was telling us this in the same breath that He was telling the disciples about the Holy Spirit coming to live inside them. He was showing them that the Holy Spirit in them was going to make them shine like fire, drawing the world to Christ.
What if evangelism is more about leaning into the Holy Spirit than trying to do it by ourselves? We really can't burn, shine, or do anything God-like without Him. Don't get me wrong. To lean into the Holy Spirit, we have to take risks, reach people, love people, and speak into people's lives. But He wants us to understand that the pressure is not on us but on the partnership between us and Holy Spirit.
He chooses to reveal His glory to the world through this partnership between His people and Himself. His glory is revealed by Him choosing to reveal Himself through us to the world. He chooses not to work alone but with us! Just as Jesus did not do anything unless He saw the Father doing it, He's asking us to lean into the Holy Spirit in a greater measure so that we can be aware of Him the whole time—aware of what He is doing, aware of people, and aware of His love for people.
He is inviting us to allow Him to lead us in conversations, life, and lifestyle, so that we can truly shine in a way that is supernatural, a way that we cannot accomplish ourselves. And it is in that shining that Holy déjà vu moments happen, leading His lost ones home.
"'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord Almighty." (Zechariah 4:6 NIV)
