Helen Calder: How to See Your Provision from Heaven's Viewpoint

Helen Calder, Melbourne, Australia
Jun 23, 2026

Recently, I heard the Lord say, "Put yourself in the abundance of My house." It reminded me of Psalm 36:

"Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, Your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of Your wings. You feed them from the abundance of Your own house, letting them drink from Your river of delights." (Psalm 36:6–8 NLT)

I believe this is an encouragement for us, because many of us feel the weight of what's missing. We may need finances, the right people to help us, or doors of opportunity to open.

He reminds us, "Beloved child, I have not overlooked you." He invites us to see what He sees, to step into His viewpoint, and perceive all that is available to us in Christ.

7 Prophetic Insights About God's Abundant Provision

1. You Don't Have an Abundance Problem

A few moments later, I opened a daily devotion and read the following: "When God makes plans, they are based on His resources, not yours" (Daily Faith Devotions by Pastor Ted Fabiyanic).

This astonished me! It struck me that I didn't have an abundance problem; I had a perspective problem.

Later, I said to my husband, Malcolm, "We had a wonderful move of God in our lives where He gave us a revelation of His abundance. Yet He is still setting us free from a scarcity mindset; we still don't get it." It was disheartening but hopeful, all at once!

There's a wonderful verse from the Psalms: "For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10 NKJV). For decades, we've used it as a metaphor for provision. Yet we still find ourselves imagining where on earth the "cattle" might come from!

2. God Moves You from Running Out to Running Over

"And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19 NKJV)

What a relief! Our limitations are not the last word. God's supply exists. We need to learn how to see it and interact with it.

Think of the woman who used her last oil and flour to bake a cake for Elijah. Her food supply was running out, but she was about to see the abundance of God's Kingdom (1 Kings 17:8–15). (Photo via Unsplash)

There was also the time Jesus told the disciples to feed a crowd of thousands. All that was available was a little boy's lunch, but they were about to see the abundance of God's Kingdom (John 6:1–14).

No matter what we see and no matter what is in our hands, we can say, "My Father is not limited here."

3. Your Father Owns the Store

One day, I was praying and said, "Lord, teach me about faith." Immediately in my mind's eye, I saw a small boy standing in front of a candy store, and he so wanted what was in that window—row upon row of goodies! And as I looked at him, I knew that in his back pocket he had one small coin.

Oh, how I felt the strength of the desire and the limitation of that one coin! Suddenly, the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, "Same boy, same amount of money in his pocket, but his father owns the store." (To read more about this encounter click here.)

4. You Have Already Come Into Abundance

"But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in Heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel." (Hebrews 12:22–24 NKJV)

"But you have come." You have already come. It was completed in the past! This is what Jesus has done. This is what He has brought us into. "You have come." We are not striving toward something or pleading from a distance; we are not on the outside looking in.

"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32 NKJV)

5. There Are More on Your Side than You See

One day, a whole army surrounded the town of Dothan to capture the prophet, Elisha. His servant was dismayed! Elisha said to him, "Don't be afraid... for there are more on our side than on theirs!" (2 Kings 6:16 NLT). He prayed, "Lord, open his eyes and let him see" (2 Kings 6:17 NLT). When the young man looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. They were higher in position and more numerous than the enemy (see 2 Kings 6:14–17)! We say, "Oh, if only I could see what that servant saw." We try to imagine it, a hill full of angels, but now God is saying, "Look again!"

6. Heaven's Abundance Is Your Reality

When Scripture says, "an innumerable company of angels" (Hebrews 12:22), God is inviting us to see beyond human possibility. We stand before His throne, before our Savior and King. And God is willing. He is our Father. Our Father is not limited here.

Oh, He wants to give us this revelation, to touch our spiritual eyes! This sets us free from constriction and fear. No matter how big the trouble or complex the problem, our Father has a vast provision. By faith, see the heavenly realms, the vast company of angels, and your heavenly Father.

7. Abundance Is Already Available to You

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV)

This changes how we come to God. From this place of abundance, we petition in Jesus' name. We are not alone, and we have not been abandoned. We stand as sons and daughters in the abundance of our Father's house. It is already won. It is already done. Our Father owns the store, and there is no end to His supply.

Pray from a Place of Abundance

The servant of Elisha did not need more angels to arrive. His eyes needed to be opened.

So, for a moment, let's pause and see by faith Heaven's answers to prayer. Your Father is not limited here.
