Forfeited Promises in Compromise
Many years ago when things were happening in the Body of Christ that began to expose where mixture was coming in and polluting the Bride, God showed me the word "COMPROMISE," and He separated the word apart. What I saw was that within the word "compromise" was the word "PROMISE."
He spoke so clearly to me and said, "When you compromise your Biblical morals, values, and convictions, you forfeit THE promise."
I asked Him, "What is the promise You speak of?"
He replied, "Purity, fruit of repentance, and My presence."
That brought the fear of God and changed my life for good! It made me realize I never wanted to forfeit purity, fruit of repentance and, most of all, His presence!
I never wanted to forfeit THE PROMISE—my character and witness for Him, and my relationship with Him! I especially didn't want to grieve the Holy Spirit... ever!
David wrote: "Search me, O God, and know my heart... see if there is any wicked (or unpleasing) way in me" (Psalm 139:23–24 NKJV, parenthesis mine).

Not My Will but Yours Be Done
Even as a parent, over the years, there are things that my children have done that have not been in their best godly character, and were unpleasing. And if left uncorrected or unaddressed, these things would have brought unholy fruit or worse through damaging consequences.
Yes, there is grace for our shortcomings, but we can do things that do not please God and grieve the Holy Spirit. My heart is always this: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:1–2 NKJV).
God has given us moral compasses, and Holy Spirit is a pure guide. He has given us His Word and every example of holy and upright living. It is possible to live this way, but only by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our prayer should be Luke 22:42: "Not MY will [self] but Yours be done."
Compromise Produces the Fruit of Division
When He separated the word "compromise," it also communicated a profound message. Compromise brings division. It is the perfect opportunity for the flesh and the enemy to rise in opposition of unity. David also pleaded for God not to cast him from His presence.
"Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me." (Psalm 51:11 NKJV)
The presence of God is our preservation in all things. But we can separate ourselves from it by our choices.
He is a good, good Father but He has morals, values, and expectations for us to be holy as He is holy. He wants us to live pure and blameless as Jesus was pure and blameless. He wants us to live unified. Nothing can separate us from His love, but, simply said, compromise produces the fruit of division and can separate us from His presence personally and corporately. Salt Brings Purity and Healing
We—as Christ followers, imitators, and ambassadors—are to be in the world, not of the world. Jesus changed the world; the world didn't change Him. We are set apart for a reason, and that is to be the salt and the light.
In 2 Kings 2:19–22, Elisha used salt to bring purity and healing to the water in Jericho, which was causing barrenness and death. The text reads:
"Then the men of the city said to Elisha, 'Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.'
"And he said, 'Bring me a new bowl, and put salt in it.' So, they brought it to him. Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there, and said, 'Thus says the Lord: "I have healed this water; from it there shall be no more death or barrenness."' So the water remains healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke." (2 Kings 2:19–22 NKJV)
The salt purified the polluted and tainted waters. The salt was a symbol of purity and preservation of life—a sign of God's holy presence.
My heart cry for His Bride is this: Don't forfeit the promise by comprising things in life. Don't grieve the Holy Spirit. Don't compromise the way of everlasting. Selah.
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." (Psalm 139:23–24 NKJV)
