Abolishing and Establishing
As I was in prayer, I heard the Lord say, "Divine establishment." When I heard those words, I knew in my spirit that God was about to do something new. Then God began to highlight the timing. This word comes during the month of October, when we also observe the feast of Yom Kippur. The Lord began to show me that this is not a coincidence, because Yom Kippur represents a season where He both abolishes and establishes.
I heard Him say, "I am abolishing the old in order to establish the new."
The Lord pointed out Hebrews 10:9, which says, "Then He added, 'See, I have come to do Your will.' He abolishes the first in order to establish the second" (NRSV). As I meditated on that verse, I felt the Lord say, "I am ending cycles that have kept My people bound—cycles of striving, delay, and unfinished work. I am abolishing the old patterns and mindsets that have served their season but can no longer carry the glory that I am releasing now."
God began to highlight how, in the Old Covenant, the priests stood day after day, offering the same sacrifices that could never take away sin. But when Christ offered Himself once and for all, He sat down at the right hand of God—a sign of finished work and divine rest. The Lord said, "No longer will My people stand in striving, for I am seating them in My rest. I am calling you out of cycles of exhaustion and into a place of completion. You will now walk in the authority of what has already been finished."
The Greater Glory Will Not Fade
Then the Lord reminded me of 2 Corinthians 3:10, "What once had glory has lost its glory because of the greater glory" (NRSVACE). God highlighted that there are things in our lives—systems, patterns, even past moves—that once carried His glory, but their purposes have been fulfilled.
The Lord said, "Do not mourn what is fading, for I am establishing something greater. I am releasing a new covenant of the Spirit that brings transformation and life. The glory that is coming will not fade; it will remain."
God also brought me to Acts 10, where Peter saw a vision from Heaven of a sheet descending with all kinds of animals. Peter resisted, saying, "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean" (v. 14). But the voice of the Lord said, "What I have made clean, you must not call unclean" (v. 15). (Photo via Unsplash)
The Lord said to me, "Many of My people are still holding on to old ways of thinking, even though the work of the cross has already abolished the old. I am breaking the mindsets that resist the new. When Peter finally yielded, I was able to use him to usher in a new move of My Spirit among the Gentiles. Likewise, as you let go of the old, I will position you to witness the new outpouring."
Resetting Divine Order
Then I heard the Lord say, "This is the month of divine establishment. I am resetting divine order in your life. I am removing the residue of past seasons—the weight of things that once had purpose but are now obsolete. I am establishing you in My rest, in My righteousness, and in My authority. I am realigning your steps to walk in My perfect will."
The Lord says, "Watch as I abolish the things that once defined you—the cycles of delay, the patterns of defeat, the reminders of sin and shame—for I am establishing a new foundation under your feet. The old order is passing away, and the new is being set in place. This is a season of divine completion and holy transition. I am making all things new."
"When You Release the Old, I Will Establish You in Something Greater"
The Spirit of the Lord says, "As you enter this month, I want you to remember that you stand righteous in My presence and that the record of the charges which were brought against you have been canceled, once and for all. I am canceling and abolishing cycles of fear, depression, lack, and need; cycles of sickness, and reminders of sin. I am abolishing cycles of condemnation and torment.
"Do not hold on to past glory; past glory has faded. This is a month where you will step into greater realms of glory, new realms of glory. I am calling you out of cycles of defeat and into the straight path of abundant life (John 10:10). Do not hold on to what I have already ended. Do not stand in the shadows of what I have abolished. Just as I spoke to Peter in Acts 10, 'What I have made clean, you must not call unclean,' I am removing old mindsets and breaking resistance to the new. When you release the old, I will establish you in something greater.
"This is a month of great provision. As My people, Israel, lacked nothing during their forty years in the wilderness season, you too will lack nothing. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell. Just like I sustained My people, I will sustain you.
"In this season, I am establishing My glory in your midst through provision. I will show you that I am the God who sustains, the God who supplies, the God who fills you with joy. You will celebrate not because of your labor alone, but because I have blessed the fruit of your hands. As you tabernacle in My presence, you will know that I am your covering, your shelter, and your supply. I have brought you out to bring you in. I have carried you to this point, and I will cause you to inherit the promise. What I establish now will not fade; it will remain. (Photo via StockCake)
"This is a month of transitioning from what I have abolished to what I am establishing. This transition will require prayer, cries, and sometimes tears. Pour out your heart before Me and trust Me. Your trials are not wasted; they are shaping you, teaching you, and refining you.
"You have a special journey and a special calling. Through it, I am qualifying you for the calling I placed upon your life. You are not walking in your own strength; you are walking in My strength. I am abolishing cycles of death, unfinished labor, and temporary covering. I am establishing a finished work, a greater glory, and a permanent dwelling of My Spirit. You will not wander around the mountain again and again; you will run.
"Lift your eyes to the greater glory, for the old is fading, but the new has come. October will mark you with the seal of transition—out of death into life, out of lack into provision, out of shadow into glory. This is a month where you will be awestruck by My glory."
