As I was praying, I felt the Lord give me the word "reinforcement." To reinforce something means to take something already established and make it even stronger. The Lord was showing me that there are people who are growing and making strides in their walk with the Lord and in their personal lives, and God is calling us to reinforce our foundation and keep pressing forward.
Why Your Foundation Matters
Your foundation matters so much, because it is what everything rests on. In this season, continue to build while also reinforcing your base.
When soldiers go into battle, they never go alone; they always have backup or reinforcement. As things in this nation get darker, and it seems like the world is getting worse, God is reinforcing the saints and empowering us to be His hands and feet in this day and age.
About thirty years ago, I asked God to give me a life verse that I could make the foundation of my walk with the Lord. He gave me Mark 1:35: "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed" (NIV).
This established a daily, consistent routine between the Lord and me, where I would simply devote time early in the morning to seek God. Every single day, I reinforce my relationship with God by dedicating time to it.
What are you dedicating time to reinforce? The things you focus on will grow!
Guarding Your Heart
With reinforcement also comes guarding your heart. It is crucial in ministry, business, or even personal situations that we keep our hearts reinforced and guarded with the Word of God. If you don't guard your heart, then you become susceptible to the plan of the enemy. This is why you must also reinforce your eye and ear gates, because they are the windows of the soul.
Proverbs 4:23 says, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" (NIV). If everything flows from your heart, keep a constant guard and a strong reinforcement in that area. (Photo via Pexels)
How do you reinforce your heart? You read the Bible, pray, fast, and seek the Lord each day so that you are never caught unprepared or without wisdom on the day of a trial.
Second Chronicles 16:9 says, "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him" (NKJV).
God is looking for those who have reinforced foundations and guarded hearts to show Himself strong on their behalf!
If you want that to be you today, spend time in the place of prayer and ask God to show you areas where you might need to do some work. Reinforce your weak areas and continue building upon your strengths.
Isaiah 28:16 says, "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic" (NIV).
First Peter 2:6 says, "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in Him will never be put to shame" (NIV).
With Jesus as our foundation, His promise to us is Jeremiah 29:11: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'" (NIV).
If you build your foundation upon a reliable, tried and tested, firm foundation, you are guaranteed increase, favor, and every good thing God created with you in mind!
