Last year, the words "Alive in 25" surprisingly dropped into my spirit as I was reading my Bible. It was January 31, 2024, and I knew this word alluded to 2025.
A Resurrection Miracle
I began to read a story in Acts 20; Paul was preaching in a church when a young man shockingly died in an accident right in front of the people. He had fallen asleep during Paul's teaching and fell from a high loft.
Paul immediately embraced the youth with his whole being and proclaimed to the stunned people that he was not dead but alive (even though we know that he had physically died). Dr. Luke recorded that the young man was picked up dead, but the gift of faith arose in Paul, and he discerned a different thing which resulted in a resurrection miracle!
Two Forces at Work in This World
In John 10:10, Jesus revealed the two forces working in the world:
One comes to kill, steal, and destroy; this is powered by the devil. And the other is the force of Jesus, who has authority over the force of the devil; He comes to bring life and life abundantly. (Photo via Pixabay)
Resurrection Grace on the Young Generation
There is a resurrection grace on the youth and young adults right now. The spirit of slumber has caused all kinds of death to this generation, but the life force of Christ is seeking to burst into them, reversing and redeeming what has seemed forever lost.
God wants to open our eyes to see what He's doing in the midst of death situations, whether physical death, sickness, or anything that steals from human life. God is set to do resurrection miracles in this generation, and He is showing us what He's doing so that we can have open eyes and partner with Him like Paul.
An entire church watched as Paul made himself available to partner with Heaven. The first thing Paul did was embrace the young man in compassion and declare that he was not dead, rejecting the spirit of mourning and discouragement. He refused to be offended by God, the situation, or the young man. Paul then took communion, ate food, and continued to teach until the morning light. Only then do we see these incredible words for the first time:
"The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted." (Acts 20:12)
It appears that the young man may not have shown signs of life until later. This is not unusual; many miracles in the Bible weren't instant but came with the partnership and perseverance of faith.
Faith and Food Instead of Mourning
In the old covenant, before the Jews escaped from Egypt, they were told to take a lamb and eat it after putting its blood on the posts of their houses with their children safely under the blood (Exodus 12). They were told to feast on the lamb with their children while the angel of death was tangibly close. They were to focus their attention on the lamb instead of focusing on fear, because they were under the lamb's blood of life and protection from death. The next morning they got to see the power of the blood of the lamb that had preserved them from death.
Discerning the Substance of Life
In the new covenant, when Jesus came to heal Jairus' daughter who was already dead, instead of joining the mourners, Jesus proclaimed to them that she was not dead but sleeping. He then went to the girl and raised her up. She was dead, but Jesus knew life even in the presence of death.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)
It doesn't take big faith to walk in His power. It simply takes us believing Him more than we believe in our lack. It has less to do with us than we think. As we rest in His great faith and risk to believe His faithfulness, we get to be part of the miraculous life that He promised us.
Instead of speaking death or rejection over what is dead, embrace whatever glimmer of life that you can and speak life over it. Though challenging, this is the time to move ourselves into uncomfortable, vulnerable faith to believe God for the things that He has promised us.
"Jesus replied, 'Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God.'" (John 11:40)
