An Uninhabited Island Across a Body of Water
I had a dream recently which had some key prophetic markers that I believe speak to the season we are in.
In the dream, I was saying goodbye to many people as I was leaving a place of employment and stepping into something new. I had a strong feeling of anticipation, a deep stirring inwardly. Even as I was talking to others, I was seeing in my mind's eye the location where I was headed—an uninhabited island across a body of water. There was discussion as to who would drive me to where I would meet my husband, and we would then cross the water by boat. My boss insisted he would do it.
As I was standing there, out of the corner of my eye I saw a table that had suddenly appeared. On top of the table was a Scrabble board with only one word, "glint," at the top and centered.
Adjacent to the room where I was, I saw another room with food for the celebration. I did not go into it, but I encouraged others to partake. My attention was focused on a very large clock on the wall; the time was 3:30. I felt I would be late if I didn't leave, but I was torn because there were others whom I wanted to say goodbye to.
The Scrabble board appeared again with the word "glint" at the top and centered, without the table. It was as if it was suspended in space and larger this time. The word "glint" was emphasized with light around the edges. I saw the clock again and the time was still 3:30. I then saw the island again, and the body of water began moving; I could even hear the sound of the wind that was causing the water to move. I began to sense a vibration, as if things were speeding up. My boss said, "It's time to go now."
I woke up. I immediately heard the Holy Spirit say, "Resurgence."
This was clearly a dream about transitioning into the new, pioneering, and forging a new path. This is what's happening in my life and the lives of many others. We have just formed a new ministry and are taking new ground. Many of the words I have received in the last year have been what I heard the Lord revealing about different elements necessary for successful transition. In this new word the Holy Spirit brings a fresh breath of His Spirit for resurgence! We need fresh revelation, a proceeding word, to move forward! So let's take a look at the prophetic markers from the dream.
Leaving the Old
This is always necessary in transition. Sometimes people are in our lives for a season, and it is often hard to say goodbye. When God is calling us out to step into the new, we must be willing to let go and move forward, even if we seem to be alone at times. The reality is that part of transition is feeling alone, for it forces us to press into the Lord even more and receive the necessary blueprints and instructions for what He wants to do. God will bring those people alongside us, in His timing, who will add their part.
Timing Is Key!
A clock represents time. Timing is key! The clock appeared twice and was a major focal point in the dream. (More on 3:30 later.) I was hesitating, wanting to make sure I said goodbye to everyone, but when I heard it was time to go, I had to leave immediately. In this new season, we must stay in God's timing and be very sensitive to His voice and promptings.
When God told Abraham to leave all that was familiar and "go," He didn't tell him specifically where he was going, or how He would provide for him there, but that He would bless him and make of him a great nation (Genesis 12:1). Abraham kept his eyes on the realm of God's promises, looking for "the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God" (Hebrews 11:8). There will be tests and trials, but we need to stay focused not on the temporal realm and the "problems" we encounter, but on the unseen what God has said and shown us.
"For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:17 NKJV)
I was focused on following the Lord's promptings, getting to where He wanted me to go. I had no idea what would happen there or who (if anyone) would be there, but I knew that's where I was to go next. (Photo via Unsplash)
Who's the Boss?
My boss in the dream was my boss in my secular career, before I retired to go into full-time ministry. While I was working there, I started a nonprofit by the direction of the Holy Spirit, which was fulfilled through the leading of the Holy Spirit and supported by workplace resources.
I believe the significance in this dream is that there will be people who have been observing your faith walk in the past season and will insist on helping you move forward into your new assignment. It is also significant that the building of the nonprofit the Lord had me do by faith in the secular arena is the same pattern for what He is having us build for the Kingdom. God will use what you have experienced and the training you have received for Kingdom purposes!
Provision
There is provision in the new land. Even as there was a table of refreshments to celebrate me, it was of the old, and I didn't partake. I am reminded of when Jesus said, "My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work" (John 4:34 KJV).
The Uninhabited Island
The uninhabited island represents taking new ground and forging new paths. Islands also represent the nations expanding the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth!
Water
Water represents the Holy Spirit and the Word of God... both of which are absolutely necessary to be successful in taking new ground for the Kingdom of God!
Glint
A glint typically refers to a flash or glimmer of light. The word "glint" was in the dream twice, and at the top and centered, emphasizing the need to pay attention. The second time I saw it, it was lit up with glints of light, reinforcing the importance.
Whenever I see a glint or flash of light, I turn to see. This is the stance we need to take going forward. Keep looking for those flashes of revelation and turn, gleaning from them. This leads to what I believe is the most important insight the Holy Spirit gave me from the dream, the next point:
The Number 330
There are two 3:30 Scriptures that are relevant to what the Lord is highlighting to me in this dream: John 3:30 and Daniel 3:30.
"He must increase, but I must decrease. He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from Heaven is above all." (John 3:30 NKJV)
"Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon." (Daniel 3:30 NKJV)
Going forward in the Kingdom of God, we must continue to die to self (decrease) and allow Christ to increase in and through us. Yielding to Him at every moment, following closely to His leading, is imperative to see the advancement of His rule and reign in the earth. From that place of complete trust in Him during the fiery trials—as with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego coming out of the fiery furnace unharmed—there will be promotion. Authority is given when we have been found faithful.
There is a pressing into a new level of faith, and from that comes leadership to help others advance. Also, it affects even the secular world. Others will be converted as they see the Lord moving in, upon, and among us, and He will be exalted. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, saw one like the Son of God in the midst of the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and he made a decree that those who spoke even a word against the Most High God would be destroyed! (See Daniel chapter 3.)
Resurgence!
As I was writing this, I strongly felt there was more. As I sought the Lord, I sensed Him telling me to look up the meaning of the number 330.
In the Greek language the number 330 (Strong's G330) is the word anathall, and it means "to revive, to flourish again, to sprout anew."
In the Hebrew, the number 330 (Strong's H330) is the word etuwn, and it means "understanding, intelligence, insight." It is from the Hebrew root word athan, which means "to continue" or "to endure."
Immediately I heard the Holy Spirit again say, "Resurgence! I am reviving what seemed dormant or dead to move forward by My Spirit, [to] be led. I am releasing My breath and saying, come forth and live! Receive My strength and flourish again. For even now in this season of new life springing forth, seeds of destiny shall break open in birth. Embrace My grace and the rhythm of My sound, and the provision for the journey shall be found." (Photo via Unsplash)
This really spoke to me, because the Lord had given me the vision for the new ministry some years ago. Along the way, He has given me revelation on different aspects of it, but he only recently released me to go forward. There were many periods of seeming dormancy, but I have learned that God is always working and to trust His perfect timing. When the time is at hand, He brings a resurgence; the vision comes alive and there is grace to move forward.
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV)
Embrace His Grace for Repairing, Reforming, and Building the New!
"And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in His holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
"For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem." (Ezra 9:8 KJV)
When I read this phrase, "for a little space grace... to give us a reviving" (for repairing and building), my spirit leapt to attention! I immediately heard, "Embrace My grace in this space, and by My momentum you will keep pace. For there is great expansion that will be gained if by My grace it is attained." Can you hear and receive the impartation of grace in this, the immediate resurgence of hope and the empowering therein?
The word "nail" in this verse (Brown-Driver-Briggs Lexicon) means "of secure position."
The word "space" in this verse means "instant," "moment," and "suddenly" (Strong's H7281)!
There is resurgence, and the Lord is orchestrating your circumstances to bring what is necessary for the days ahead! You have a secure position in His Kingdom purposes, and it is time to expand and build! What He has ordained for you is already established in the heavenly realm, and the provision will come! Be confident in His love and faithfulness to His purposes, and continue to worship Him in every trying situation. Your worship is warfare (2 Chronicles 20:21)!
"Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not: lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes. For thou shalt spread abroad on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall possess the nations, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited." (Isaiah 54:2 ASV)
This is a time to move forward at the full speed of His momentum. Can you hear the sound? There is a reverberation from Heaven – the sound of angels on the move to fulfill His word and carry out His decrees! Ignore the voice of the enemy, the naysayers, the critics, the doubters, and the fearful; the Lord is moving and bringing those who are like-minded. Trust Him and take the next step. You will find your tribe and come alive! HEAR THE SOUND OF THE RESURGENCE OF HOPE! IT IS SPRINGING FORTH NOW!
