The Lord gave me three prophetic dreams that serve as a warning of things that you might experience in this next season. I went to sleep near 11:00, and the Lord woke me up at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00 to three separate dreams.
It is important to know that you have nothing to worry about. In Luke 10:19 it says, "You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will harm you as you walk in this authority."
As I go through these dreams and explain what we are going to encounter in this upcoming season, have peace that through the power of God, we will overcome.
An Encounter with a Religious Spirit
In my first dream, I was walking into a church, and immediately I could tell that I was on staff at this certain church. I was wearing a pair of shorts upon entering, and immediately the pastor laid into me, saying, "Joe Joe, you can't wear those shorts in the house of God. How can you call yourself a man of God and wear that in His house?"
My reaction was, of course, unfazed, but I recognized very quickly that it was a religious spirit.
Soon after, someone that the pastor respected walked in wearing shorts, and after that an entire family walked in wearing shorts. In total, about eight people walked in with shorts on, and the pastor didn't say anything in regard to it. I knew this meant that he hadn't lash out at me because of the shorts, but he'd lashed out because he had something against me.
Even when attacked by a religious spirit, we have to remain unfazed by the schemes of the enemy.
Another key point of this dream was my reaction. I was very polite, smiled, and remained calm so that the Lord could have His way in the situation.
Accusation and Slander Behind Your Back
In my second dream, once again, I was working at a church and walking across the parking lot, talking to a young man. I could tell in the dream that I did not trust this man, but I listened to him speak regardless. There were about four to five other people nearby, and the man asked me, "Hey, do you think I could borrow twenty dollars?" (Photo via Picpedia)
I responded, "Sure man, it's in my office; let me go grab it."
As I turned around and began to walk toward my office, the man told the people around him, "I'm never paying him back."
I turned around and said to him, "What? Excuse me?"
He responded, "Oh, I was just telling them how much I appreciate you and how you are like a mentor to me."
I turned to continue walking when he spoke again, saying, "I can't stand him, I am going to find a flaw in him or a way to expose him."
I turned around again and responded, "Now what are you saying, man?"
He responded once more, "I was just telling them how I wouldn't be where I am in life without you, man."
As this continued to happen, I noticed that each time I turned around there were less people standing near him until there was nobody. I went back to him and said, "Look man, you know why nobody helps you? You know why nothing is working out for you? Because you always come against people who are trying to help you."
I knew that I was dealing with the spirit of accusation and slander. When people come against you, don't get frustrated, because oftentimes people slander others because they are jealous and envious of someone else. A piece of knowledge I often tell those in our mentoring program is this: "Never accept criticism from someone whom you wouldn't take advice from." Don't let the spirit of accusation take you out; we have to keep our eyes fixed on what is coming ahead.
A Thief Caught and Betrayal Exposed
In my third dream, I was outside in the same parking lot from my previous dream, and I was speaking with a few gentlemen. I then turned around to walk inside the church. Once I got inside, I looked through the window at the parking lot. I saw one of the guys whom I had been speaking with break into my car and attempt to steal some things, and I immediately went back outside. I could tell that he had a wad of cash from my car in his pocket, so I said, "Hey man, what are you doing?"
He responded, "Nothing."
When he was confronted by me, the other four men who had been with him fled quickly, and he looked both ways, seeing that everyone around him had left.
I approached him and said, "Hey man, I saw that you stole that cash from my car. Would you please give it back?"
He responded, "No sir, I didn't steal anything from you." (Photo via Pexels)
I tried to kindly ask him to return what had been taken, but he chose to lie and deny that anything had been stolen. There were other people standing around, uninvolved, and I asked them. "Hey, could you get the pastor and call the cops?" The most important part of the dream was what I said next: "... and call the proper authority."
I then walked up closer to him, because it seemed like he was trying to get away. As I put my arms around him, he immediately fell like a dishrag and crumbled in my arms. I knew immediately that this was the spirit of betrayal. Judas betrayed Jesus, and afterward he crumbled under the pain and disappointment of what he had done, just as this man had done in my dream.
The Lord was teaching me that if betrayal comes, you must call on the proper authority to heal the situation.
If you are doing anything for the Lord in this next season, then you will experience spirits like these: the vial religious spirit, the spirit of accusation and slander, or the spirit of betrayal. Remember, these spirits have no power over you, and they will continue to break under the power and authority of God like it says in Luke 10:19. The Lord will protect you from every attack of the enemy. Always stay in the will of God, and remain wise while we advance and build as the Body of Christ.
