The Peace of This World versus the Peace of God
There have been a lot of posts about the peace of God in the past, but I am actually amazed at how many Christians don't recognize the differences between the peace of this world and the peace of God.
While they are similar in some aspects, they actually operate in ways that are totally different from each other, because the peace of God comes over us when we shouldn't actually have any peace at all, by the world's standards.
While natural peace comes when everything is going exactly the way that you've planned, God's peace manifests when everything has been turned upside down and nothing seems to be going right at all.
"Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. NOT AS THE WORLD GIVES DO I GIVE TO YOU. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid..." (John 14:27, emphasis mine). (Photo via Unsplash)
While natural peace will quickly dissipate the moment trouble arises, God's peace will multiply in the most difficult of situations – especially when we are operating in obedience to what the Holy Spirit has told us to do.
"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
"And GOD'S PEACE... WHICH TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING SHALL GARRISON AND MOUNT GUARD OVER YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS." (Philippians 4:6–7, emphasis mine)
While Perfect Love Casts Out All Fear, the Peace of God Keeps It Out!
For God's peace is like a mighty fortress of His presence, and nothing that the enemy has is capable of penetrating those walls!
Right now, with everything going on around us, it has never been more crucial to abide within the walls of God's powerful peace. For it is from within the walled fortress of that peace that I can hear the voice of the Lord with great clarity for instructions and direction – even in times of great stress.
While the natural peace is fleeting within this time that we're in, that fruit of the Spirit called the peace of God is being released by the Holy Spirit to many sons and daughters. This is happening so that even in the most cataclysmic of events we can still hear Him perfectly, despite our current circumstances. (Photo via Unsplash)
"And the God of peace will soon crush satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with you." (Romans 16:20)
It's His peace that gives you clarity; it is His peace that brings you supernatural protection; it is His peace that crushes all of the demonic realm attempting to steal, kill, and destroy in your life by placing it under your feet!
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to come and bring His peace upon your life, your circumstances, your family, your finances, and your friends. For as you do this, you may experience a tangible, supernatural, and powerful peace come upon you that you've never felt before!
