For such a time as this...

The story of Esther. One of my favorite stories in the Bible.

A godly young woman brought from poverty to the palace seemingly overnight. She enjoyed the favor of the king and had everything and anything she could ever want.

Until - she was jolted from her comfort and awakened to her purpose through her Uncle Mordecai's words:

"For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14

Esther heeded the call, and responded. The courage of one young girl saved a nation from complete destruction. Wow!

Today is the celebration of that deliverance known as Purim. Throughout Israel, the streets are filled with celebration as the Jewish people remember what God did for them through one woman's obedience. This time is full of costumes, food, dancing, and much more! It is an incredibly important holiday in the Jewish culture.

Yet, even today, not everyone is celebrating.

Many are struggling in poverty. I have seen it first-hand: elderly Holocaust survivors that rely on our feeding center to survive. Young families of new immigrants like Jorge and his wife and two children from Uruguay. They are suffering, barely making ends meet. Recent statistics show that over 500,000 families in Israel are living below the poverty line.

This should not be; we must do something.

And we can! Like Esther, "for such a time as this" God has positioned you and me at this moment, and our response can be a part of God's deliverance for those struggling families in Israel.

We can help save a nation.

Join us as we help feed the needy in Israel and restore the Land of Israel. Through Abraham's Bread Feeding Centers, all citizens of Israel, without discrimination, who are suffering can receive assistance and food.

Let's be the difference and save a nation! Like Esther, I'm calling each of us to fulfill the purpose and call that God has placed on our lives.
