Why this Passover is different for them and for us

Dear Praying Friend,

"All who are hungry – come and eat; all who are in need – come and celebrate Passover." – Passover Haggadah

Never has this simple phrase from the Passover Seder meant so much as it does right now – as our teams on the ground in Israel are working tirelessly to provide vital and urgent help to Ukrainian refugees who have fled to Israel.

Thousands of Jewish Ukrainians have survived through unimaginable experiences to arrive in Israel safely, and although Israel is arranging shelter for them, there is still so much they need. The Israeli government offices responsible for helping the refugees are aware of the mission and work of our Feeding Centers and will be relying on our efforts as one of the vital organizations helping to get these traumatized families back on their feet.

The Ukrainian Jewish people coming to our centers for help include the elderly, women, and young children. Your support makes all the difference as we have begun caring for them!

We are communicating with the refugees entering our restaurant-style feeding centers using both Hebrew and Ukrainian so they feel welcomed and know that we are there to help. It has been overwhelming and humbling to see the gratefulness of their responses as they realize they will be loved and cared for in Israel by people they have never met.

One of the most heart-warming experiences has been providing the elements for a traditional Pesach (Passover) Seder for those who have literally fled with only the clothes on their back.

Deliverance takes on a whole new meaning as we serve these precious people who have survived such horrors.
