This disturbing statistic left me in tears

I came across this article from a few months ago and it stopped me in my tracks.

The Times of Israel recently reported that over half of Israel's Holocaust survivors relied on food given to them in order to survive.

The report said that over 40% were deciding between paying for food to eat or getting much-needed medical attention!

This should not be.

It makes me think of precious Leah. She escaped the horrors of the Holocaust, and came to live in Israel, the Promised Land! She raised her family here and sought a new life for herself in her homeland.

Yet today, she, like many elderly survivors of the Holocaust, is struggling with hunger, depression, and loneliness.

Together you and I can minister to these precious ones by providing needed food and staples right to their door through our Abraham's Bread Feeding Centers.

Our teams at the Abraham's Bread centers in Jerusalem and Tiberias are packing and preparing hundreds of meals to deliver to those who are either too sick or too frail to be able to get food for themselves.

You and I have an opportunity to share the love of God and to do something practical to bless the people of Israel, like Leah.
