From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzOur testimonies are one of the most powerful tools we have. They are extremely impactful to share the Gospel with others in how Christ changed our lives...forever.

Katie Souza is an outstanding and shining example of seeing the transformation of Christ. She had a past of crime and went to federal prison. But now she preaches at prisons, churches, has her own TV show, and many miraculous healings happen wherever she goes. Today, you're going to get a personal message from her time of being in prison.

Be encouraged because God SEES the gold in you and your loved ones who you've been praying for, for years. Yes, as Katie's title says: God Shows Himself Faithful!" (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"God Shows Himself Faithful!"

Katie Souza, Maricopa, AZ

(Taken from Katie Souza's Journals while incarcerated on 2001)

"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and be afraid." (John 14:27 NIV)

I walked 3 miles today, then at 12:30 PM prayer meeting, the Spanish ladies asked me to sing at Wednesday's service.

"I will send you the Spirit who comes from the Father and shows what is true. The Spirit will help you and will tell you about Me." (John 15:26 CEV)

I went to church, to work, then to choir practice. (I am practicing dying to self.) Then, I helped the Spanish choir. Today is Tessa's 21st B-day!

"...He Himself is our peace..." (Ephesians 2:14 NIV)

I attended church at 1 PM. We sang, "Closer to the Heart of God." (Die to self.) Went to church again at 6:00 PM, then to work, and to the unit prayer group.

Today is my day off. I got up early and walked the track for 3 miles, then did sit-ups and arms. Afterward, I went to chapel; we started a new rehearsal for praise dance to "Lean on Me." Then we practiced vocal warm-ups and sang "Let Me Not Offend Thee." I went to drug class, then watched part one of Joseph. My friend, Kassie, on the run...catch her fast, Lord! I also attended the unit prayer group. (Photo via Flickr)

"For through Him, we both have access to the Father by one Spirit." (Ephesians 2:18 NIV)

I got up early again and walked 3 miles. I had breakfast with Ms. L, had a prayer meeting at 12:30 PM. I read that Rosie has a call out to R and D (Receiving and Discharge) tomorrow! Later, I went to our unit prayer group.

"Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." (Romans 8:26-27 NRSV)

Rosie is leaving and God did it!

Went to prayer meeting, work, and vocal warm-ups. I sang tonight at Spanish church, then went to the unit prayer group. Rosie is gone! Yay for God.

Today I attended unit prayer group, choir practice, and had a day off. We had really good choir practice. I'm fasting for a job with Sherrie. We are getting lots of revelation from studying Deuteronomy including stuff about Moses fasting.

We had unit prayer group and church. Still fasting with Sherrie for a job. Even more revelations from Deuteronomy.

Today I went to the unit prayer group. No church all day because the chapel is closed. Work went well. This is the last day of the Job fast. "Then, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" (Isaiah 6:8 NIV)

You may have no idea of the magnitude of impact you will have when you say yes to the Lord. While locked up in prison, I told the Lord to send me, and look at what He has done in my life and how He has used me.

They caught Kassie, wow, that was fast, Lord. Praying for Rosie. She's in San Bernardino with no lawyer. Went to work, took drug class test, went to prayer meeting, then we watched Samson and Delilah and Abraham.

"...so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:11 NIV)

Today at 12:30 PM prayer meeting, Sister Jessie asked me to begin a Bible study. She also asked me to begin the prayer every day, then we prayed over a list of lawyers, Jim Koy was on the list. (Photo via Unsplash)

Faith to faith, glory to glory. "But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day." (Proverbs 4:18 NRSV)

It's T's birthday today! I went to the 12:30 PM prayer meeting, then to Spanish church tonight. Rosie got a lawyer, Jim Koy! I prayed for him yesterday!

The Goodness and Faithfulness of God

As I look back on my journal from 19 years ago, I marvel at the goodness and faithfulness of God! I love how He gave me Scriptures to reflect on, and how He showed Himself in the circumstances with my friends, Rosie and Kassie!

When I said yes to the Lord, "Send me, I'll go," I had no idea of what God was going to do in me and through me. He pulled me out of captivity and brought me into my purpose. And now this ministry has been able to reach and help so many people.

Today, take time to reflect on how God has been faithful to answer your prayers for your life, or for your friends and family.

Katie Souza was a career criminal most of her life, convicted of a number of felonies and sent to federal prison to serve almost twelve years. While incarcerated Katie encountered God in a way that dramatically changed her life, and began to write her first book, The Captivity Series: The Key To Your Expected End. Since then, she has completed part two in the same series, Healing The Wounded Soul, along with her bestselling little book, Soul Decrees. Katie is known for her insights relating to soul-healing, a revelation that explains why so many Believers can appear to do everything they've learned in church, and still fail to receive breakthrough in their lives. Katie lives in Arizona with her husband, Robert. She writes, teaches, produces a television show which is broadcast around the world and travels extensively. Katie and her ministry visit prisons several times each year and teach inmates how to hear from God, and demonstrate that they too, can achieve what God has promised and planned for them, and get them healed on the inside, before they are released. She continues in full pursuit of her expected end!
