Katie Barker: "The Year of the Bridge - You Are Moving into Bounty!"

I sat with the Lord on Rosh Hashanah and prayed into what He wanted to show me about what this year would bring. I heard the Lord say, "It will be the 'Year of the Bridge.'" He then revealed to me the reasons as to why it will be a bridge year.

Bridge to Beyond

This year we will see the Lord bring swift advancement to many people. They will spiritually move into a new land, occupy new territory and move significantly beyond where they are now, into the next level of their destiny in Him. Just like a bridge carries us from one place to another, people will move from where they are and rapidly shift and advance and move into the fullness of the plans the Lord has for them. Spiritually, they will be moving to a place that is beyond what they could have envisioned and it will be a place where many promises God has spoken over them will come to pass at one time.

Many people have gone through a season of refining and preparation in order to enter the new place the Lord has prepared for them to move into this coming year. They have been found faithful and have embraced the refining fire, so the Lord is going to rapidly advance them beyond where they have been before. It will be a year of great fruitfulness and blessing as the Lord leads them into the fullness of all He has planned.

There is also a call from the Lord for His people to move beyond their comfort zones and step into new territory, operating in the new way the Lord is leading them. Corporately, the Lord is calling the Body of Christ to go beyond the old ways and structures and to have eyes to see the new way He is moving. Just as a bridge can take us higher in order for us to enter the new territory, the Lord is calling us to have heavenly perspective and He is going to release the bridge of great revelation in order for us to move beyond anywhere we have been before. The Lord is shifting mindsets and the constraints we have placed on Him. All of this is happening so that we can partner with Him as He moves His Church into new territory. As a result, we will see acceleration of His end time plans and purposes.

"But as it is written: 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.'" (1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV)

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2 NKJV)

Bridge to Bounty

This year will be a year where people receive a "bounty" from the Lord. The Lord is moving people to a place where they receive a repayment for all they have lost and what the enemy has stolen from them. The justice of God will be seen and recompense and restitution will flow in the lives of God's people. The bounty they receive will be a gift from the Father as His justice is released into their situations and circumstances. It will be a bountiful blessing as the Lord is going to release back more to His people than what was taken from them.

Those who have continued to take steps of faith and obedience and have walked in love will be rewarded for their steps and perseverance. The recompense of God will flow as the Lord advances and shifts their situations and circumstances. Long-awaited promises of God will flow as injustices are overturned. The justice, recompense and restitution of God will be seen not only in the lives of individuals but also in ministries and nations. A bounty, or reward, will be released by the Lord to those who partner with Him, align with Kingdom ways and stand for righteousness and justice.

Bridge of Bonding

Just as a bridge connects two places, so too this year the Lord is going to connect or bridge people and places in a much greater way. These connections won't just be connections but bonds as they will be strong, divine alliances and partnerships to see the Kingdom advance. This will occur as people lay down their own agendas and mindsets and adopt a Kingdom mindset. These connections will be strong as there will be great honor, love and respect for what each brings to the partnership. The Lord will connect people, ministries, regions and nations in a much greater way to see rapid advancement of His plans and purposes. These bonds will be part of the strategy the Lord uses to bring swift advancement and shifts in the lives of individuals and regions.

The Lord is also going to highlight discipleship in a greater way and He will bond or link spiritual mothers and fathers with those who are new in Christ so they may rise up and walk in the fullness of their destinies. Paul referred to both Timothy and Titus as his "spiritual sons" (2 Timothy 1:2, Titus 1:4) and he spoke in the spiritual sense of being a father in the faith (1 Corinthians 4:15, Philippians 2:22).

Bridge over Battles

There will be times of spiritual battle this coming year but the Lord is going to release divine strategies to rise above the battle. He is going to give people a "bridge" over the battle so they may overcome and advance. The Lord is going to release new strategies for battle but we will need to stay close to Him to hear His strategy and it will be important to only follow the strategy He gives. These strategies may be stretching and will require faith but as we are obedient to His leading we will find we rise above the battle.

We will have joy and strength in the midst of battle as our previous refining and testing have strengthened our faith. We know the Lord is faithful and we have learned to lean on Him and trust in Him, knowing His ways are higher. Great revelation will be released this year on the times and seasons, the plans of the enemy as well as God's plans. This revelation will be used by the people of God very strategically in battle to bring advancement.

The Lord will also release an increase in spiritual gifts to those who have stewarded their gifts well. The spiritual gifts will be part of the strategy the Lord gives in the battle. It will not only be the spiritual gifts, but the nine fruits of the Spirit that the Lord highlights as He is calling His people to operate in the gifts of the Spirit and to display the fruit of the Spirit. Operating in love and using the spiritual gifts from a platform of love will bring great advancement.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV)

"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." (Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV)

"But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection." (Colossians 3:14 NKJV)

"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)

Bridge Steps of Surrender and Stewardship

I had a vision of the 5779 bridge and I saw that in order for the people of God to receive the fruitfulness and fullness of all the aspects of the bridge (including the bridge to beyond, bridge to bounty, bridge of bonding and bridge over the battle) they needed to take steps of surrender and stewardship on the bridge. I saw that as they moved across the bridge they were walking in steps that were marked with the words "surrender" and "stewardship." The Lord was showing me that surrender and stewardship were the keys to receiving the fullness of what the Lord had planned for the coming year.

The Lord is calling us to yield and surrender to Him in a greater way so we can be used by Him in a greater way. It is only in deeper surrender that He can take us higher in the things of Him. We are then able to carry and steward the increase He wants to give us including an increase in assignments, resources, gifts and spiritual authority. In this coming year of advancement and acceleration the Lord is looking for those who will faithfully steward what He is releasing and entrusting to them. As we continue to obediently steward what we have been given, more will be entrusted to us.

As we have entered the Jewish year 5779 there is so much expectancy for all the Lord has planned. As you continue to take steps of surrender and stewardship this year may the Lord advance you into new territory, beyond where you have been before. May you see divine turnarounds and receive recompense for what the enemy has stolen and a reward for your steps of faith and obedience. May the Lord bond you with others who have the same vision and heart in order to see God's Kingdom advance, and may He release divine strategies to rise above and overcome spiritual battles that may come your way.
