Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:

This is a most insightful word by Demontae Edmonds of Virginia. Demontae is quite an accurate prophetic voice in the Body of Christ...and I have sure enjoyed getting to know him more and more! He is full of deep, prophetic and spiritual insight!

We have received words before about God raising up prophetic and apostolic hubs in the US and in the nations. You will read a great deal about this as Demontae shares about a hub here:

The picture that comes to mind for many of us when we hear the word "hub" is that of a hub that covers the rim of a tire. In a spiritual sense, a hub is a place where there is always spiritual activity. Our God is a God of activity and movement. The most important ingredient for a spiritual hub is...

During a recent conversation, a fellow minister proposed the question to me: "What is in a prophetic hub or apostolic hub?" There has been much talk about God raising up spiritual hubs for the progression of the Kingdom. Hubs are centralized centers of grace and power where Believers are equipped to share God. They serve as distribution centers for the spreading of the Good News and advancement of the Kingdom within a specified city or region.

All five of the ministry graces in Ephesians 4 are present, the infilling of the Spirit is preached, and deliverance and healing are the norm. I would like to take time to explain some of the other key elements that should exist within an apostolic hub.

Keeps the Wheels Turning

"The apostolic ministry stands as a pillar to keep out sin, false doctrine, and false practices contrary to the Word of God and character of Christ out of the Church."

The picture that comes to mind for many of us when we hear the word "hub" is that of a hub that covers the rim of a tire. In a spiritual sense, a hub is a place where there is always spiritual activity. Our God is a God of activity and movement. The most important ingredient for a spiritual hub is that of prayer. Fervent prayer, intercessory teams, and targeted intercession that "keeps the wheels turning" should be present while releasing the will of God into the earth and binding the powers of the enemy.

Jesus says in Matthew 21:13, "My house shall be called a house of prayer..." It's disheartening to see when ministries have abandoned corporate and intercessory prayer almost altogether! Only the Spirit of God can reach all of the needs of a broken and hurting society. The Spirit of God is activated to take action when prayer is lifted up.

An apostolic hub in a region is concerned with the Body of Christ. It is a center where prayer is made not just for one church, denomination, or organization but the Body of Christ as a whole. Pastors, churches, community leaders, and decision makers are lifted up before God.

Eagles that Soar

Acts 13:1, "Now there were in the Church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers..." The city of Antioch was regarded as an early model of an apostolic hub. Jerusalem was the first spiritual hub for the New Testament Church. There existed multiple, senior-level ministry gifts. The prophetic ministry was in operation and flourishing. Also, the teaching ministry was in place to help with discipleship and spiritual growth. (Photo via Unsplash)

The arrival of the company of prophets signified that God had a special purpose and plan for the region of Antioch. The Church can only grow beyond limitations placed upon it with the help of strong prophetic voices. Some churches and organizations have clipped the wings of the prophets and not allowed them to function fully or grow into maturity. We need prophets that soar (grow in grace, maturity, and authority) in order to reach higher heights and greater glory in God.

Multiculturalism

Jerusalem experienced great revival, spiritual awakening, and miracles through the early apostles. Antioch surpassed Jerusalem in one factor. It became a place where "all nations" could gather to glorify God. Antioch is recorded as the first Gentile or multicultural spiritual hub.

Can't You Talk Louder, God?

Acts 11:19-20, "Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only. And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus."

The first preachers limited sharing the Gospel to just their own ethnic group (Jews). The new wave of ministers shared with Gentiles and Grecians. Antioch had Believers from Greece, Cyprus, Cyrene, and Judea all worshipping together. Spiritual hubs break down racial, economic, and social divides through the love of God.

Apostolic Leadership

"Hubs are centralized centers of grace and power where Believers are equipped to share God."

The Bible tells us that God set first in the Church apostles (1 Corinthians 12:28). This action by God was not done unintentionally or by happen-stance. God is a God of order. Apostolic leaders serve to bring order, government, and structure within churches and Church organizations. It is vital to a spiritual hub to have strong apostolic leadership present for these purposes.

A tire without lug nuts fastened in place to its hub or rim may easily fall off of its axis. This is what happens when authentic apostolic leadership is absent. The apostolic mantle helps to cast vision and direction for the overall mission that God has given for the region and for the hub.

The apostolic ministry stands as a pillar to keep sin, false doctrine, and false practices contrary to the Word of God and character of Christ out of the Church. Also, it is one that deals with regional principalities and ruling demonic forces impacting communities and seats of power. The intercessors and prophetic voices are enhanced in their roles when true apostolic fathers help to guide them in their actions.

Financial Streams

Money is material but has spiritual implications because without it one may be hindered in their ability to bring the Good News. It takes money to travel, preach, feed the hungry, and clothes the poor. The early Church in the Book of Acts saw great healing, miracles, and mass salvation. Also, it ministered to widows and the poor.

Acts 2:44-45, "And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need." (Photo via MaxPixel)

The early Believers were "together" or they created a hub where they not only prayed and sang hymns but pooled together their natural resources. Every need was met within their immediate community because those that had more gave to those who had less. Also, money was laid at the apostles' feet so that they could carry out the vision of God.

In this present hour, God is raising up market-place ministers, business people, and creatives who will generate income streams that will help to fund the Gospel. Many of the new spiritual hubs won't have to beg and plead for money, but strategic wisdom will be giving that cause a steady stream of resources to meet every need and accomplish every goal from God.
