PASSION MOVIE Begins to Fulfill Prophecy Before Our Eyes

The Scripture foretold this. There are literal and spiritual implications for this Scripture. When someone comes TO JERUSALEM, they are coming to God and when they bring their offerings to the temple they are bringing sacrifices of Praise. With that in mind, read this:

Isa 66:19-21 NIV

19 "I will set a sign among them, and I will send some of those who survive to the nations - to Tarshish, to the Libyans and Lydians (famous as archers), to Tubal and Greece, and to the distant islands that have not heard of my fame or seen my glory. They will proclaim my glory among the nations. 20 And they will bring all your brothers, from all the nations, to my holy mountain in Jerusalem as an offering to the LORD - on horses, in chariots and wagons, and on mules and camels," says the LORD. "They will bring them, as the Israelites bring their grain offerings, to the temple of the LORD in ceremonially clean vessels. 21 And I will select some of them also to be priests and Levites," says the LORD.

To everyone's shock and surprise, 'The Passion' was released today here in Qatar. Until now we have only been able to show the Jesus film in Arabic to a handful of Qataris in the secret of a home setting. In the coming weeks, potentially tens of thousands of Arab Muslims will see this powerful portrayal of Christ's suffering and death. In two short hours, more Qataris heard the Gospel than I have been able to reach in nearly five years of living here.

The Arabic subtitles were completely accurate - they didn't water anything down or change any language that Muslims would not agree with. All of us watched the film in absolute amazement in what God had done. The Muslims sitting around us were being moved - gasping, crying and reacting with disgust to the brutality that Jesus faced.

Now - if you have heard anything about why the Arab Muslims would want to see the film, you know that it is because they 'heard' it was anti-Jewish and since they hate the Jews, they want to see it. How interesting that God is using this film to communicate the Gospel and the very opposite spirit that might be motivating them to go and see it. The message to love your enemies, and Jesus praying for them to be forgiven while on the Cross would hit the Muslim theatre-goer in a powerful way.

1. That this film will be allowed to be shown for a significant period of time. It is being shown in three different theatres, up to four times a day. Fundamentalists will surely be in an uproar about this unprecedented event. Just when we thought Satellite television was going to be the most significant way for the Lord to sow the seeds of the Gospel, this film arrives in Muslim nations!

2. That this film will cause a major shaking and stirring in the hearts of many Muslims, leading them to salvation. 3. That God will lead us to men and women who have been/will be impacted by this powerful film.


REPORT FROM KUWAIT:

The film is so popular here that they have been canceling the other films to show 'The Passion' in all the theatres at the cinema complex. I took a friend on the second night. The film was running in all three theatres. I would estimate that well over 50% of the people in the theatre were local Muslims including women completely veiled. You could see how this film had impacted everyone. On the second day, several of the local newspapers had the advertisement for the film on the FrontPage.

It appears that even Saudi Arabia is getting a chance to see the film, albeit through pirated DVD's. There are no movie theatres in Saudi Arabia anyway. God knows what He's doing. I was just reminded what the Apostle Paul writes: "It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so in love. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way (e.g. pirated DVDs) the true Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice". (Philippians 1:15-18)

The release was very timely. The killing of Palestinian Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmad Yassin happened the morning after the film was released. The Arab response has been a whole new wave of hatred for the Jews, which was illustrated in a large public demonstration/march yesterday. At a time when the urge for Muslims to hate has been renewed, the Lord has brought 'The Passion' telling them - 'No, love your enemies! Forgive them!' The contrast is staggering.

Just today a couple of local women asked me, "Do you have the New Testament in Arabic?

"Me and all my friends want to read it!" Another asked about where to get the Arabic Bible on the internet. This has never happened! The film is generating so much interest in Jesus and the Scriptures. Every Christian we are talking to seems to have a story or two just like this one. May it continue to increase.

People are talking about wanting to go and see it. Pray that many would watch this movie and that it would spark an interest and hunger to know more of Jesus and the Bible. In what is an unprecedented show of unity following years of a broken marriage, which included a fallen ministry and a fallen leader, Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye Messner appeared on the same Larry King show last night to appeal for prayers for Tammy Faye, who now has inoperable cancer. Pirated DVDs of 'The Passion of Christ' Flood Jeddah

JEDDAH, 15 March 2004 - Pirated DVDs of controversial Hollywood blockbuster "The Passion of Christ" have hit the streets and are selling like hot cakes, according to street vendors.

The film is being sold outside of supermarkets, and out of the trunk of cars for the price of SR30 or less. A copy obtained by Arab News was of high quality.

A street vendor said on condition of anonymity vendors underestimated demand for the movie because the dialogue is in Latin and ancient Aramaic rather than English. "My customers don't like subtitled movies, but they are buying this one."

"The Refineries in Houston Will Play a Role in Redefining Houston"

In light of the Refinery fire in Houston, I (Steve Shultz) file this prophetic news report from a person in the Houston area written to Chuck Pierce via Chuck's assistant Brian Kooiman.

I'd like for you to drop an update in Chuck's ear when the opportunities arises. In August ' 03, the Lord had him to raise our level of awareness regarding the Houston Refineries, I quote Chuck, "God showed me the Refineries of Houston. They should be a focus for us the next few months in Prayer. The Refineries in Houston will play a role in redefining Houston." On Tuesday evening (3/30/04) the BP Amoco Refinery caught fire. The fire was eventually contained with no casualties and no homes destroyed. Also, I'm sure he is aware that the Texas Refineries have been put on "Terror Alert" by our Government. We praise God that the Houston fire was limited as we have been in prayer for security and protection. Moreover, even the BP Amoco Officials are amazed at the outcome. We are pressing in through Prayer and Fasting (over the next 40 days) to discern the true meaning of their role in our City's redefining process.

Please extend our greetings and blessings to him and his family.

We are so looking forward to his coming in 2 weeks.

Sound the trumpet in Zion! Call a fast and gather all the people together for a solemn meeting. Bring everyone--the elders, the children, and even the babies. Call the bridegroom from his quarters and the bride from her privacy. The priests, the ministers of God, will stand between the people and the altar, weeping; and they will pray:

"Spare your people, O our God; don't let the heathen rule them, for they belong to you. Don't let them be disgraced by the taunts of the heathen who say, 'Where is this God of theirs? How weak and helpless he must be!'" Then the Lord will pity his people and be indignant for the honor of his land! (Joel 2:15-18 / Living Translation)

In December of 2003, God released through Chuck Pierce and Dutch Sheets, on their 50 state prayer tour, a prophetic word for the state of Oregon. Critical judiciary issues in our state have made it obvious that the word is accurate. God has sovereignly chosen to entrust His people in Oregon with a great battle that will have implications not only for our state, but for the future of our entire nation.

To achieve victory in this battle, it will require ACTION and the UNITY of God's people in Oregon. We believe that the entire state, not just a few counties, must be involved and standing together as the Body of Christ in Oregon, supporting each other in this spiritual battle through prayer.

Because of the extended and long term implications of court rulings that will take place in our state, we are asking believers and churches from all across Oregon to prayerfully consider re-arranging your personal weekend agendas and commitments on April 3rd to be a part of this sacred assembly.

For those who are not able to travel to the state capital, you may want to plan gatherings at your local county seats of government during this same time frame.

Please pray and ask God for revelation for how we can each do our part. Christians in our state CANNOT REMAIN PASSIVE during this important time in our nation's history.

May we, as the Body of Christ in Oregon, be unified, willing to each do our part and win strategic battles in heavenly realms to see God's Kingdom Rule restored over our state and over our nation.
