Marc Brisebois: "A Critical Transition is Here: There Are No Limits!"

Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:

There is no doubt we are in a massive shift into the great harvest and many people are being awakened to it as God prepares us for massive outpouring.

I believe this word by Marc Brisebois will stretch us all to believe for "exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think."

Marc shares here:

Clearly there is a normal process of growing into maturity which demands we transition. We can measure this in a number of different ways. However, there is a distinct shift coming which will affect a large number of Believers. While we are all individuals, this shift is like a graduating class from college and it means a collective crossing over. A cross-section of the Body of Christ is about to tap into the power of the Spirit of God in an entirely fresh way. It can only be compared to a Quantum Leap – a sudden huge shift in capacity.

At this moment, large numbers of Believers are facing a moment of critical transition. It has been preceded by a period of frustration during which the Holy Spirit has been preparing us. In reality He is weaning us! The same way a mother transitions her baby from milk to solid food, God is shifting His people. The season may have felt confusing as we've been shifting from what was previously known, but we are moving from one kind of sustenance to a better one – to solid food.

A Normal Experience

The writer of Hebrews refers to this same challenge for the Believers of his day, suggesting we must all likewise transition.

"The fact that we drink and are thirsty again suggests something less than what is framed in this promise."

"For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." (Hebrews 5:13-14)

Time to Sow to the Spirit

This shift is part of a pruning process we have been in as we are being encouraged to forge ahead. Hovering over us is a promise to the faithful saying, "Do not faint" but continue sowing to the spirit. Which is to say: continue in the Word, prayer, worship and service to the people of God. It is preparing you for something fresh and amazing.

"For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." (Galatians 6:8-9)

The issue is the reaping of eternal life. Do not underestimate the meaning of this by thinking in terms of your experience after death. "Reaping eternal life" is a real experience we must grow into now...in this life. Eternal life is not a period of time following death, it is the knowledge of Christ (John 17:3). It is now! A whole swath of people who have been pruned by God are about to surge into a powerful level of grace they never thought possible.

The Soul is a Rechargeable Battery

It is a matter of simply more grace, which is power. Paul said it this way:

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." (1 Corinthians 15:10)

Paul somehow out-labored all the others. How? He discovered a key that provided him with a rare level of energy which carried him through impossible circumstances and inhuman levels of service. He tapped into something others had not. (Photo via Pixabay)

The difference is that Paul was plugged into a never ending flow, like a tool plugged into a wall socket, as opposed to a cordless version. A cordless tool is battery powered which, while convenient, has limited capacity. The cordless tool constantly needs recharging. In the same way, we have been living out of the power of recharged souls. Even with amazing capacity, those energy stores will run dry.

The quantum leap coming is a shift away from the soul to a more direct connection to resurrection life. While the renewing and restoring power of the Holy Spirit does overflow to our soul, the soul is a recipient and not a source. Yet, we are in the habit of drawing from our souls after it is renewed. What if we could bypass the soul and draw directly from the endless source of Life? This is the promise!

Can't You Talk Louder, God?

It Will Never Run Dry

It is not only illustrated in the New Testament but we see it throughout history. Consider the promise given the starving widow who served Elijah. He said her supply will never run dry.

"For thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.'" (1 Kings 17:14)

"He discovered a key that provided him with a rare level of energy which carried him through impossible circumstances and inhuman levels of service."

The imagery here is clear: God is granting us an endless, sustained supply! This is the heart of the Kingdom of God in our midst and was underscored by Jesus Himself. He said if we drank of the water that He would give we would never… thirst again. Why? Because of continual supply.

"Jesus answered and said to her, 'Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.'" (John 4:13-14)

The fact that we drink and are thirsty again suggests something less than what is framed in this promise.

An Unrelenting Flow

He said we would never thirst, which suggests the idea of unrelenting flow. This is the promise of eternal life – a supply that is everlasting. How else do we explain the anomaly expressed by Joshua when he said:

"As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in." (Joshua 14:11)

Despite his age, his strength for war had not diminished. This is resurrection power quickening (making alive) a mortal body (Romans 8:11) .

Resurrection Power

Likewise it was said that Moses, who was not one hundred and twenty years old, did not lose his natural "vigor".

"Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished." (Deuteronomy 34:7)

This is the kind of life sustaining power behind the Kingdom of God. What we are about to obtain is another level, perhaps as much as the earth has never seen. Death will be swallowed up in life. (Photo via Unsplash)

The final witness to the power at work in us is the story of Elisha. After he died it happened that some Israelites were burying a man. When a band of Moabites came by, they quickly tossed him in with Elisha. But when the corpse touched the bones of Elisha he immediately came alive (2 Kings 13:21). There was enough residual life in the bones of Elisha to raise a man from the dead.

There Are No Limits!

God evidently has more for us and is intent on giving us more. There are no limits! It is time for us to believe far beyond our capacity. The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead can enlarge our abilities beyond imagination. This is what is promised and this is what is coming. For those who have felt pushed into a corner and pruned beyond comprehension, there is more than a release coming. There is a Quantum Leap into inhuman capacity by the grace of God.
