Ella Onakoya: "God is Releasing the Rain of His Spirit for a Divine Turnaround!"

Ella opens up with this statement:

I believe this is a pivotal and important time in the history of the Church. I have been hearing in my spirit the sound of rain like never before. The Lord is releasing an alert for His Church to discern the sounds of rain and to be positioned to receive the rain He is releasing that will bring in a harvest of souls, healings, restoration and a divine turnaround from setbacks of the enemy.

I believe this is a pivotal and important time in the history of the Church. I have been hearing in my spirit the sound of rain like never before. The Lord is releasing an alert for His Church to discern the sounds of rain and to be positioned to receive the rain He is releasing that will bring in a harvest of souls, healings, restoration and a divine turnaround from setbacks of the enemy.

Lord, We Need Your River and Your Rain

Recently, I had a prophetic dream where I was preaching at a meeting. As I preached, I felt a barrier in the spirit that was hindering the people from receiving the word of the Lord. Suddenly, the Lord told me to start singing a song about His rain and His river. I obeyed and began to sing, "Lord, we need Your river, Lord, we need Your rain, shower down Your blessings over us." As I sang, the anointing fell as a deluge—changing not only the atmosphere of the place, but of the hearts. The hearts of those I spoke to softened and a number of them began to stand in a line to give their hearts to the Lord.

I woke up from the dream with the revelation that the anointing to bring in a large harvest of souls, restoration and healing, is being released through the rain of God falling from Heaven. Without the Lord and His anointing, we can do nothing!

Keys to Be Positioned for the Rain

The Lord gave me several keys for being positioned to not only receive, but function under the rain of His Spirit.

1. We must believe this to be a season of rain and ask accordingly for it.

Faith and trust always precedes what the Lord wants to do. Zechariah 10 verse 1 says, "Ask rain from the Lord in the time of spring rain..."

2. As the Lord releases His rain on thirsty ground, He is calling us to be ready for revival and to be positioned to bring in the harvest of souls.

Joel 2:23-24 has this beautiful promise, "So rejoice, O sons of Zion, and be glad in the LORD your God; For He has given you the early rain for your vindication. And He has poured down for you the rain, the early and latter rain as before. The threshing floors will be full of wheat and the vats will overflow with the new wine and oil." I believe the Spirit of the Lord is saying, "Watch out for the thirsty and dry grounds. For these will receive a heavy deluge of the rain." Wheat signifies the harvest. Where the rain falls the harvest will come in.

Fairly recently, I ministered at a tent revival meeting in a part of America where my host had told me that the ground was spiritually hard and the place was full of gangs with guns. Crime was rife in this area. As I ministered at the tent meeting, I asked the congregation to start releasing prayers into the four corners of the region to release the anointing that will bring in the harvest. We continued to pray wholeheartedly, when the host asked me to listen to the cries outside. It was the cries of many unbelievers outside the tent who had been touched by the rain of God's Spirit. As we prayed, their hearts were convicted and they started crying out, "Jesus, Jesus!" repeatedly. My heart was awed as I remembered the Scripture in Acts 2:21 which says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

We led those who cried...to the Lord to Jesus. Throughout that week, people were walking out from the street and into the tent to meet the Lord, as they were touched by the Lord's Spirit that was poured out in the region.

3. Intercession will birth and release the rain of restoration and blessings.

I hear the Lord say, "As you intercede, watch for the cloud the size of a man's hand!" When you see the cloud, your rain is imminent! The rain of His Spirit will release restoration of what has been lost. Joel 2 verse 25 promises that the coming rain will bring a restoration of the years the cankerworm, the palmerworm and the caterpillar have stolen.

In 1 Kings 18:41-46, after Elijah heard the sound of the abundance of rain in his spirit, he knew that he needed to pray to birth the promised rain. Many have heard the promise of His rain/prophetic words that are not yet fulfilled. The Lord wants to encourage you that it is not the time to give up. Keep pressing in till you see the cloud the size of a man's hand.

Elijah prayed on Mount Carmel for the rain to fall. Just as Elijah prayed on the mountain, I feel the urgency in my spirit that we must also align our prayer posture in the spirit to receive victory. We must pray from a position of victory before the throne of God. where we can see the victory even before the manifestation! Elijah prayed several times until his servant finally saw the cloud the size of a man's hand at the 7th time. After the cloud appeared, heavy rain started to fall!

The number 7 signifies completion and fulfillment. I believe many have entered their season of completion. Press in during this season and decree to the cloud holding your rain to release your God-appointed blessings and promises. I remember a story of a man in Cambodia whom the Lord brought into restoration. I had been ministering at a church in Cambodia when, at the prayer time, the Lord gave me a prophetic word for restoration, which I released as I prayed over the congregation.

A few days later, one of the church members testified that he was tricked out of a large sum of money in a business deal. He could not get his money back, as those who took his money seemed to have disappeared. He became distraught but kept his faith and forgave them. He had been praying for a turnaround and restoration when he came into the meeting and heard the word of restoration the Lord released through me. Immediately, he grabbed a hold of the word, perceiving it as his cloud the size of a man's hand, and came into agreement for restoration in his life.

After the meeting ended, he turned on his mobile phone (which he had switched off because of the meeting) and right at that moment, a call came in. It was his business associate (who made away with his money), who had been trying to reach him, wanting to make amends by returning his money. He was amazed at this divine turnaround. 4. There is healing in the rain!

One of the ways to be positioned to receive the rain of healing is to remain in a place of "returning and repentance" before the Lord.

Hosea 6:1-3 talks about the Lord healing us and coming to us like the rain as we return to Him. Recently, I made an altar call at a meeting in New York for those who had backslidden or who needed to return to their first love of the Lord. After one of the men committed his heart to the Lord for a deeper walk with Him, he asked me to pray for his hearing to be healed as he could not hear very well. After I prayed, he testified that for 45 years he had suffered from tinnitus and had been unable to hear very well, but after the prayers the loud ringing in his ear had stopped and he could now hear very well! As he positioned himself in repentance before the Lord, he received healing!

Beloved, be encouraged with this word to believe this to be a season of the rain of Heaven falling to bring in a harvest of souls, restoration and a turnaround from every setback. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)
