When the rover named "Spirit" landed on Mars, the Lord began to stir a message in me, which is below this one. When I heard that the next ship being sent up was named, "Opportunity," MY spirit leapt within me in regard to another prophetic parallel. As the team at NASA has been crying out to Spirit, seemingly without response until recently, I sensed the Lord speaking about some other things as well.

By the way, the term "rover" is defined as: (1) a random or long-distance mark in archery - usually used in plural; (2) wanderer; roamer; (3) a player who is not assigned to a specific position on a team and who plays wherever needed; (4) vehicle for exploring the surface of an extraterrestrial body (as the moon or Mars). (5) another name for dog.

I feel like many of you are like "rovers" - pressing towards a mark, wandering and wondering; willing to play where needed; often exploring unknown territory; yet remaining faithful like Caleb. ("Caleb" means "faithful dog; faithful friend.") - Know that the Spirit is responding, and Opportunity has arrived!


FAITH, WORKS & COMMUNICATION

When we cry out to the HOLY Spirit for spiritual, business or other reasons, He responds, and He sends OPPORTUNITY for us to walk in. But again, WE have to respond to HIM as well! COMMUNICATION is VITAL! We must not allow communication to be shut down. When communication is shut down, so is progress. By maintaining good communication, anything can be worked out.

I believe the Lord wants to remind us that "faith without works is dead," (James 2:20 & 2:26) and WE must continually be communicating with the HOLY Spirit and DOING SOMETHING towards what we are about if we want action from God. James said, "...But someone will say, 'You have faith, and I have works.' Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith BY my works." (James 2:18)

NASA launched Spirit on June 10. The number 10 can stand for law; order; government; restoration; trial; testing; responsibility; and tithe. It landed EIGHT months after being sent, and eight is the number for new beginnings. Through that I felt it was said, Let us not forget to get and keep things in our lives in proper order, continue to put God first even in our finances, and go forward even during times of trial and testing.


REST IS AS IMPORTANT AS WORK

Spirit paved the way and Opportunity followed on July 7th and landed on Mars just 7 months after it was sent. Seven is God's number for perfection; completeness; day of rest. - Interestingly, they said, "As Spirit shut down systems and 'slept'' 124 million miles from Earth, Opportunity made a flawless arrival on the other side of Mars."

Interestingly, it also was stated, "They also succeeded in coaxing the robot to sleep after it stayed up two nights in a row when it should have been turned off to conserve power."

I believe there are some of us that could use some of the same at times! - Shutting down to conserve power! - I'm reminded of Psalms 127:2, where it says: "It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep."

There is an old saying: HALT if you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired.


FORGETTING THE PAST

One of the things that troubled Spirit was its flash memory, which is similar to the memory digital cameras use to store pictures. They had to shut the flash memory down in order to try to repair it.

Whether there is a need for deliverance or wise counsel, I believe there are many of us that need to get healed of past memories and experiences that keep "flashing" in our spirit and crippling us in order to go successfully forward as well. "(12) Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. (13) Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, (14) I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 3:12-14)


NOTE

Listen, we don't want to get "strange" about these things. Not everything that happens is prophetic! But these were just some things the Lord used in the natural to speak to me in prophetic parallels about.

Also, we MUST stay in the Word. Even though the Lord used these natural events to speak to me, He did so by referring me to scripture. The Word of God has GOT to be our ultimate plumb line, even in areas of the prophetic.

Anyhow, for those of you who didn't get the first article about Spirit, it is below:

SPIRIT LANDS; BEGINS TO MOVE

The headlines quickly caught my attention, "SPIRIT LANDS; BEGINS TO MOVE." As I read the article further, it described how the spaceship named "Spirit" had recently landed on a hill on the planet Mars. The HOLY Spirit began to tap on MY spirit that there was something of significance in prophetic parallel and led me to Acts 17:17. Interestingly, the number 17 had been burning in my spirit for some time.

In Acts 17:16, we find Paul waiting for Silas and Timothy at Athens, and his spirit was grieved when he discovered that the city had turned their hearts to idols. Then in Acts 17:17 it says: "Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshipers, and in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there." - Thus began Paul's famous sermon at a place (GET THIS!) called MARS Hill


GREAT MARKETPLACE OUTPOURING

I believe the Lord has truly been (and is) speaking about a great outpouring in the Marketplace. Many are recognizing this - I'm certainly not the only one! Bishop Bill Hamon of Christian International (www.cimn.net) has written an awesome book about it. So - what exactly is the "marketplace?"

The dictionary describes it as: "an open square or place in a town where markets or public sales are held; the world of trade or economic activity; the everyday world."

That's right - conveying to others and helping them get to know the God of EVERY day life personally; not just Sunday church! There are many who have caught the vision for "Marketplace Ministry" and have been seeking the Lord for their part in this.

Marketplace? or Ministry?

In times past, there have been those with a tremendous Joseph/Daniel marketplace anointing who have ALSO felt the call to ministry, but argued with themselves because they thought they would have to give up one to do the other. On one hand, they couldn't justify tossing aside proper support of their family to do ministry, because the Word is clear that those who do so are considered to be "worse than a non-Christian." However, their hearts could not justify forsaking the call of God on their lives to spread the Gospel either! Therein lay the dilemma - "Business or ministry?" - "Ministry or business?" - And the answer is, "BOTH!"

The truth of the matter is, even as far back as this account in the book of Acts with Paul, the Marketplace has always been used as a means to pour out the Gospel. Take a look at most any great metropolitan city in our nation, and you will find a city where there has been a mighty outpouring. Even as recently as Toronto and Pensacola! And yes, Kansas City, too - where, praise God, "things" are beginning to take place once again!

Not that God has to "make sense" - after all, He is God! - But it stands to reason that we aren't going to reap much of a harvest of souls INSIDE the church walls, any more than we could catch any fish if we cast our fishing lines INSIDE of a boat!

A Different Kind of Leadership

The good news is, our God is about His business in this day, bringing forth a new "Gospel Ship" of LeaderShip that will look MUCH different from what we've so far known

I believe the Lord is speaking to the Church, just as He spoke to His disciples in Luke 5:5-6:
(5) Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net."
(6) And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

The Lord is speaking to us now - in PRESENT time and language - that it is time to "cast the net on the other side!" - In other words, OUTSIDE the church walls, and INTO the Marketplaces - the every day places - of the world.

By doing this, we WILL catch that "big haul" we've been promised was coming! To expect it to come INSIDE the Church walls is ridiculous! This truly is a time when the Lord is sending forth the "hunters and fisherman" to gather in the mighty harvest! - "Behold, I will send for many fishermen," says the LORD, "and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks." Jer. 16:16 (N KJV). Truly, a bountiful, net-breaking harvest IS beginning to emerge!


LET US BEGIN TO INTRODUCE THE "UNKNOWN GOD"

During the most popular Christian holidays, many people sing the songs of the season, and repeat the prayers they are led to speak. But as in Paul's day, they speak to an "Unknown God." They know "of" Him, but do not KNOW Him, intimately and personally.

Even on a daily basis, many seek "God" through a variety of "things." Of note about most any great metropolitan areas in these days is the tremendous amount of humanism, intelligence, philosophies, and a variety of religions and belief systems, from New Age to Old Age - Eastern religions to witchcraft and other cults! - With the birth of so many awesome cities having begun in the power of the Spirit, why would we try to turn to the flesh once established? This was the dilemma Paul faced at Mars Hill.

The philosophers and artisans of Paul's day were great "thinkers" and debaters, always looking for another "bright idea" to follow after. This was to Paul's advantage that day, for they were "ripe for the picking" to hear what he had to say. However, this following set of scriptures very well could be written and told about the day and time we currently live in! Our cities are full of ancient and New Age philosophies - all being sought after and researched as Mankind continues to try to "find themselves" or "find their way" in today's society. - As Paul did, let us help them to find their purpose and destiny in JESUS in Acts 17:

(18) Then certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, "What does this babbler want to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods," because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection
(19) And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, "May we know what this new doctrine is of which you speak
(20) For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. Therefore we want to know what these things mean."
(21) For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing.

Notice that Paul did not "put them down;" rather, he met them on their ground, on a level where they could receive:

(22) Addressing the Areopagus Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious;
(23) for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the one whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:
(24) God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.
(25) Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.
(26) And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,
(27) so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
(28) for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'
(29) Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man's devising.
(30) Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
(31) because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
(32) And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, "We will hear you again on this matter."
(33) So Paul departed from among them.
(34) However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.


A TIME OF RESPONSIBILITY

In this day and age the Lord has given to us a space of time to reach and save the lost. There will come a time, as the Gospel gets spread throughout the earth, when we will all arrive at a place of "no excuse," as it speaks of in Rom 1:20 to Rom. 2:1. But let us use this time as the Spirit of God is prompting and giving us this kairos moment, to bring in a mighty harvest!


PRAYER

Father, help us in this, your moment of anointing, when yolks are being broken and doors opened at the same time, to utilize what you've given us to give YOU to others. Amen
