"When the Kingdom Comes – It Comes Through You"
by Joe Joe Dawson, Texarkana, Texas

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzMore and more prophetic voices are telling us to rise up in our God-given authority and power in this day. Church, it really is a time of increase and realizing just who we are in Christ!

Joe Joe Dawson poses these questions in his article:

God is looking for those that will say, "Yes" to releasing the Kingdom through their lives. Why did God give you the influence that you have? Why did God send you to your workplace? Why did God send you to the city and region that you are in?

You are God's change-agent wherever He sends you. Be encouraged in that as you read through this word! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

"When the Kingdom Comes – It Comes Through You"
by Joe Joe Dawson, Texarkana, Texas

Matthew 9:35-38: "And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.'"

When Jesus taught the "the Gospel of the Kingdom" signs and wonders always followed. What is the the Gospel of the Kingdom? The message of the Kingdom is "Heaven, come to earth!" This is how Jesus taught the disciples to pray in Matthew 6:9.

When the Kingdom Comes, Signs, Wonders and Miracles Always Come With It.

When true apostolic teaching is released, the Kingdom of God comes. Jesus went about teaching the Kingdom of God and manifesting the Kingdom to everyone He encountered. Jesus taught in their synagogues and temples but as He taught them, Jesus noticed something: The people were "scattered like sheep without a shepherd." Jesus looked around and asked Himself, "What are they teaching in the synagogues and churches? There's no power" (paraphrased). Jesus was moved with compassion because they had no teacher.

There was no one teaching them about the Kingdom of God. They were in a church building but they were experiencing no power. They were in the temple but there was no true teaching. They were called "the people of God" but they had no concept of the Kingdom. What would happen if we did the same thing today? What if we took a step back and looked at the state we are in and cried out, "God! Send out laborers to preach the Kingdom. Send me!"

The Protestant Reformation

Think about the Great Reformation led by Martin Luther. During Martin Luther's time, the only Biblical teaching in the Church was in a language the people didn't understand and there was definitely no apostolic teaching. Martin Luther wrote down all the things that the Church was doing that went totally against the Word of God. Then he went and nailed it to their door!

That day, Martin Luther started a revolution. What made Martin Luther the great Reformer? He started teaching the Word of God. The religious system was so frustrated with him that they not only threatened to excommunicate him but they also publicly called him a heretic. They opposed him and called his teachings "heresy" because he was preaching the Word and the Kingdom of God!

When accusations come, don't stop for one minute. Keep preaching the Kingdom of God. Despite the threats and accusations from the religious system of his time, Martin Luther understood one thing: the Bible is a holy Word given by a holy God and it is sent to a holy people. God needed someone to reform the Church. Martin Luther caught a revelation of the Kingdom and said, "Yes" to seeing Heaven come to earth.

Will You Be the Next Great Reformer?

Jesus stepped back and was moved because of the current state of God's people. They had synagogues and temples on every corner but the Kingdom was not coming. They were scattered because no one had taught them. Jesus saw these people scattered, going to church services without ever seeing the Kingdom of God coming. What was Jesus' solution for a scattered people and a powerless Church? Twelve set-apart, consecrated ones. He anointed them and sent them out. Matthew 10:1 says, "And He called to Him His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction."

God's solution for a scattered people and the Church is still an apostolic, sent-out, people. God never called pew sitters. God never called anyone to just sit back and watch others advance the Kingdom. Jesus came to raise up people who would advance the Kingdom of God.

God is still looking for that one person who is willing to become apostolic and be sent out today. The disciples were probably content just sitting back and watching Jesus bring the Kingdom into the earth. But Jesus was not content to advance the Kingdom by Himself. The same is true today!

God is looking for those that will say, "Yes" to releasing the Kingdom through their lives. Why did God give you the influence that you have? Why did God send you to your workplace? Why did God send you to the city and region that you are in? God sent you so that you could preach and demonstrate the Kingdom of God wherever you go. When the Kingdom comes, it comes through you.
