"All Hands On Deck, The Millennials Are Coming!"
by Rob Gross, Kaneohe, HI
The Lord spoke to me in late November and said, "All hands on deck, all hands on deck. I'm going to reach a generation that has rejected Me. All hands on deck, all hands on deck, the Millennials are coming, the Millennials are coming."
Since receiving this word, four Millennials have knocked on our church doors in recent weeks. A man in his mid twenties attended our worship service last Sunday and gave his life to the Lord saying, "I have been alone all of my life." In great pain from a debilitating illness he came down with a year ago he came seeking God for answers.
The Millennials Are Coming
Recently, a 25-year-old male addicted to drugs found his way onto our website and posted the following message:
"Hello, I have been struggling with addiction problems and I know God is the only way to set me free of my demons. I desperately need to start a relationship with Him and surround myself with good people."
After checking to see if he was legit on Facebook, our website administrator quickly responded to his cry for help with a word of compassion and a explanation of how to receive Christ. To both her delight and surprise, he wrote back the next day saying that he had prayed the prayer she had sent him. She then invited him to attend our Christmas service. He responded by saying that although he was nervous about coming, he planned to attend the service.
Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert."
Something new and fresh is bubbling up from the ground. In October of this year I received the following prophetic word from a woman named Jana:
"Look at Job 42:14. This is one of the restored daughters of Job.
Her name was Keren-happuch. This name means 'strength' or 'horn of antimony'. I believe this has much to do with recovering sight to the blind-especially the spiritually blind."
In addition to being translated "horn of antimony" Keren-happuch can be rendered, "horn of eyeshadow." Several weeks after receiving Jana's word about the Lord wanting to open spiritually blind eyes, He performed two powerful miracles right before our eyes (pun intended) to confirm what He had spoken prophetically. First, He removed a cataract from a 70-year-old male in our congregation—His eye is still cataract free six weeks later. Secondly, He healed a woman's bloodshot eye—she had had this eye condition for over 30 years and was known by her friends as "Red-eye." Her healing has inspired many others in her church to believe God for supernatural healing.
Open the Eyes of the Spiritually Blind
Around the same time I received Jana's word about Keren-happuch a close friend pointed me to Exodus 34:29-30, which tells us that Moses' face shone brightly with the presence of God when he descended from Mount Sinai:
Exodus 34:29-30, "When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him."
The Hebrew word for "shone" is qaran meaning to be with horn or radiant. Moses himself, not the tabernacle he erected later, was the first tabernacle. Filled with the glory of God he shone or radiated God's presence off the top of his head. Don't miss this: qaran is similar to the word keren (Job 42:14). Keren or qeren, as it is spelled in Hebrew, not only means "strength of eyeshadow" but "horn of salvation" (1 Samuel 2:10). (Note: Keren is a popular Jewish name meaning Ray or Radiant.)
After God performed the two "eye" miracles mentioned above I suspected that the Lord was up to something new and fresh. Interestingly during this time my wife, along with five other people, began to feel a strange sensation or pressure behind her eyes. She was so concerned that she went to three different ophthalmologists who each informed her that there was nothing wrong with her eyes.
We were greatly relieved to know this and concluded that the Lord was prophetically declaring to us His intent to open the eyes of the spiritually blind and draw them to Himself (John 4:35, 6:44, 12:32).
Matthew 16:18 says that if we build the Kingdom of God or the "King's domain" He will build the Church. This was fleshed out repeatedly in the Acts account as the Lord added to His Church daily.
Could it be that an awakening to God has begun in our nation that will expand in 2017 and beyond? By faith I have been saying to our congregation over and over, "All hands on deck, all hands on deck, the Millennials are coming, the Millennials are coming!" (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)
