"The Power of a Testimony Can Heal and Save Lives!"
by Kim Potter, Dayton, TN

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzDear Elijah List Readers,

While on this earth, we will probably never do anything that has more power than speaking out OUR TESTIMONY or ONE OF OUR TESTIMONY STORIES to people.

When I'm out and about speaking at various events, I make it a point to tell personal miracle stories of God's miraculous protection, His Provision, and His Marvelous Power.

Tell your story and watch God "jump onto that story" and ride along on those words of yours to fill people up with HIS SPIRT – through your testimony.

Read this great word by my friend Kim Potter. Then go write to someone on social media and tell them something great God did for you! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

Note to Our Dear Readers:

"The Power of a Testimony Can Heal and Save Lives!"
by Kim Potter, Dayton, TN

I've often heard Pastor Bill Johnson say, "When you hear a testimony, God releases the power of God into that testimony to DO IT AGAIN." That is a powerful thing when we grasp that as we share a testimony, it carries within it the power to "do it again."

Recently, God has been speaking to me about the power of testimonies. It started when I witnessed a car accident not long ago. It was a gruesome accident where a woman ran off the road, flipped her vehicle and landed upside down in a creek near my home.

I have never seen so much blood in my life. I immediately laid my hands on the woman and prayed for her life. Wanda, the woman in that accident, was bleeding profusely, but God had another plan that day. It was the day He began to speak to me about testimonies.

Scriptures Concerning Testimonies

Deuteronomy 6:17 says, "You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statues which He has commanded you."

1 Kings 2:3 says, "And keep the charge of the Lord your God; to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments and His testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn."

Psalm 25:10 says, "All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies."

I find it interesting that God puts the importance of testimonies alongside His commandments and statues. Testimonies are that important to Him...and should be to us as well.

As God began to speak to me about testimonies, I did a little word search on the following words:

Commandments: a code of wisdom, to command, and the Ten Commandments.

Statutes: an ordinance, limits, prescribed portion, inscribed decrees.

Testimonies: a testimony, that which you witness and evidence.

Even after additional study I didn't feel I had the revelation God was trying to get across to me. Then, I came across a book, Hebrew Word Pictures by Dr. Frank T. Seekins, that teaches about the original Hebrew language and how their words create pictures. This book opened my eyes to what God was saying about the power of testimonies.

I was intrigued to find that the letters in the word testimony are as follows:

Ayin – to see, the eye.
Dalet – a door.
Vav – Hook, nail.
Tav – a sign.

From these original picture letters, we see that a testimony is an amazing thing. It depicts what we see, along with a door into a miracle. It also depicts a hook or nail and a sign.

So, What is it Saying?

It is saying when we hear or see a testimony, it is an open door. One which we can see. It is a sign to show us that through the testimony there is also a door for us to walk through in which we can experience that same testimony or miracle.

We see this happen often in the Church. We hear someone get up and give a testimony of healing and as they give their testimony, others receive the same healing. Why? Because as the testimony was spoken, the door was opened for the transference of the power of that miracle, as they had faith to lay hold of it as their miracle.

After I witnessed that horrible car accident, I saw for myself the power of a testimony.

I don't know what transpired between the time I prayed with Wanda to when the emergency medical team cut her out of the car and life-flighted her to a hospital. But what I can tell you is that by the time she arrived at the hospital, she had no cuts, no bruises and no memory of the accident. After checking her out, the hospital released her and sent her home—with no sign of any injury whatsoever!

Since that day, I have seen several other miracles take place simply because I saw that miracle. That miracle gave me faith and other people who I shared it with – faith that if God would do that for Wanda then He would do it for them. And He did. That testimony opened a door and as it was shared it released power to believe for miracles.

Romans 2:11 says, "For there is no partiality with God." In other words, God is no respecter of persons, what He did for one, He will do for you. We just have to take hold of it for ourselves.

Never forget the power resident within a testimony. It is like a seed we plant and in the fertile soil of faith it will reproduce that same miracle. Friends, keep Gods word, absolutely! Remember to keep His testimonies and your own. Talk about them, tell your family, tell your friends, and as you do doors will open to transfer the power to see the same miracles! Why? Because God is just good like that! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)
