Church, I can't emphasize this enough – we play a big part in praying, fasting and voting in this election! Just as Peter shares here:
The Lord is saying that right now our prayers, fasting and words – all as He leads in addition to our action (like voting) – will play a crucial part in this election's outcome. Politics, polls, and the natural can and will be affected by prayer and decree! The CHURCH has a crucial part in calling in the will of God and the righteousness we so desperately need!

Respond to God's Word with Prayer
As this election gets closer and things get more and more intense spiritually, I feel to release a word and a prayer the Lord recently gave me.
The key of this is found in Daniel 9:1-3:
"In the first year of Darius son of Xerxes (a Mede by descent), who was made ruler over the Babylonian kingdom – [2] in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the Word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. [3] So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with Him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes."
Verse 2 is clear that Daniel already knew from the Scriptures that the desolation of Jerusalem would come to an end:
"[2] In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the Word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years."
That was God's Word, and it was a done deal. Yet take a look at the next verse:
"[3] So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with Him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes."
God Wants Our Involvement
Even though Daniel knew the outcome he, "Turned to the Lord God and pleaded with Him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes" (verse 3).
This is such an example for us! Even when we KNOW a positive outcome is secure, whether by promises in the Word, or even by the prophetic "Rhema" Word of the Lord, just like Daniel did, God gives us an awesome responsibility to plead, pray and even fast (as the Lord leads) to ensure that promise comes to pass; we have a part!
Think about it. If Daniel had read the promise that Israel's desolation would end (vs 2) and just said, "Amen!" and didn't pray or fast (vs 3), what would have happened? I don't know, but it's obvious to me that God included Daniel's part for a reason...he had a part in seeing God's promise come true – and so do we.
I, like so many others in this nation and around the world, am believing for righteousness to prevail in this election – regardless of what is seen or not seen in the natural! First, it goes without saying but it's very important that we physically vote for one of the candidates; but really more than a man or woman, we want and need the KINGDOM to come in this time!
God Wants to Perform His Word
There are many promises in the Word of God that speak of healing and restoration, and many prophetic voices are in agreement over the blessing and restoration of America. Even more than us, He longs to bring righteousness, justice and peace to our nation.
God's promises are true and we can take them to the bank! But this part is critical. The Lord is saying that right now our prayers, fasting and words – all as He leads in addition to our action (like voting) – will play a crucial part in this election's outcome. Politics, polls, and the natural can and will be affected by prayer and decree! The CHURCH has a crucial part in calling in the will of God and the righteousness we so desperately need!
Our Prayer and Decree
As you are able, let's pray and decree this together right now and as we move forward, we'll see Heaven come:
Lord, THANK You for giving us a part in seeing America's destiny fulfilled. We humbly consider it a privilege to pray fervent and effectual prayers for this nation, and we know that they will accomplish MUCH (see James 5:16).
Father, we pray right now that You would raise up even MORE prayer warriors from among us for this season. We pray that You would release Scriptures we can decree and pray; strategies from Heaven for this time. Lord, train our hands for war and our fingers for battle in this critical season!
We know the enemy is coming to steal from America, to kill and destroy, but we decree over the USA and the Church right now that Jesus is bringing us ABUNDANT LIFE – life that is full and good. We speak LIFE over our children, LIFE over the unborn, over our government officials (see John 10:10).
"You heavens above, rain down My righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness flourish with it; I, the LORD, have created it." Isaiah 45:8
Father God, we pray righteousness would rain down during this election season and beyond! We agree with Your Word, and to the earth we say, "OPEN UP!" and that salvation is SPRINGING up in our nation, even as Your righteousness rains and waters the earth.
AMEN.
