 This word by Jennifer Martin got me fired up to go into my prayer closet...and PRAY FOR THE LOST and for our world. Many will tell you that prayer is the most important component in all we do...and you'll read about this in Jennifer's word.
Jennifer shares here from a vision she had with the Holy Spirit speaking to her:
At that moment, the Holy Spirit spoke loudly to me, "Before you go out for God, you must go out in prayer!" And again, "Before you go out for God, you must go out in prayer!" And again, "Before you go out for God, you must go out in prayer!" His voice kept repeating this phrase over and over. I kept hearing it even as I was waking from the dream. A passionate cry from the heart of my Father was resounding in my spirit! Oh Lord, what does this mean?

Visions in the Night
He told me in the night. He has always spoken to me then. In a dream, I heard His voice. I listened as a part of Father's heart is conveyed to me...
I dreamt of a meeting. There were many people inside a church worshipping God. The atmosphere was filled with excitement. I looked and saw people dancing, smiling, and waving flags all around. Some flags were huge and were being flown high up to the ceiling. One of these flags had a person in them as if it was like a suit to them. They soared to the ceiling, flying all over the room. I could see the joy on their faces. Each one overcome by His goodness. Laughter filled the air. Not one was unaffected. Except me...
I was overcome with something else. A desperate feeling had begun to consume me. I watched everyone and wanted them to feel this too. And I thought, Why is no one else sensing this? Doesn't anyone see? We must pray! I looked to the speakers of the meeting. I thought that surely they will understand the urgency in the spirit right now.
I went to them and respectfully asked if I could share my heart with the room about the need for intercession right now. One speaker told me, "There is no time for that now, but maybe, if we have time, you can share when I'm done with my message." I sat while the speaker prepared their notes, and looked to them desperately to let me come and share. I felt like it was an emergency to tell the Church. Well, I guess it wasn't important enough because they never allowed for me to speak. I knew they felt that their preaching was more important than prayer. I wanted to weep.
Before You Go Out for God, You Must Go Out in Prayer
At that moment, the Holy Spirit spoke loudly to me, "Before you go out for God, you must go out in prayer!" And again, "Before you go out for God, you must go out in prayer!" And again, "Before you go out for God, you must go out in prayer!" His voice kept repeating this phrase over and over. I kept hearing it even as I was waking from the dream. A passionate cry from the heart of my Father was resounding in my spirit! Oh Lord, what does this mean?
He began to show me that before we try to go out to the lost, the ones that need salvation, we must pray for them! This would take a people who would lay down their lives and their time to pray, in the secret place, where no one can see them, where no one can hear them, where no one can clap for their great message – true servants and friends of Jesus Christ.
Remember Your Authority Through Prayer
Am I saying that joy is bad? Absolutely not! Am I saying that enjoying the presence of God is bad? Absolutely not! Am I saying that preaching a message is wrong? Of course not! I am a preacher, too! I love to speak and teach from the heart of the Father. But when you have a specific message from the Lord, you must obey it above anything else you think may be important at that time.
I don't feel like God is saying to do prayer instead of worship and preaching, because God was genuinely touching people in the meeting and it was wonderful! I feel like He is saying to do it alongside them. We cannot leave prayer out of our Church like we have left it out of our schools.
Wouldn't the enemy just love it if we forgot to use the one thing that exerts our authority over him on the earth? I mean it makes sense to me. Yeah, he wants to make the people of God believe that worship and preaching is more powerful than prayer. We cannot leave one out.
Jesus sent the disciples to pray! The disciples gathered together in one place, prayed, and waited for the power of the Holy Spirit to come upon them. Jesus said in Acts 1:8 KJV, "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."
Receive His Power and Might
Look at that! They received POWER! For what? To be WITNESSES of Jesus! So what are we, as the Church, gathering for? What are we waiting for when we come together, worship, and learn the Scriptures about the Kingdom? What is it all for? Who is it all for? It is so that we can receive power to be His witnesses to the lost...the ones who He doesn't want to perish?
Remember that Jesus said that a shepherd would leave the 99 sheep for the one sheep that is lost. Don't forget God's heart for His lost children. It's time to stop spending all of our time doing everything else but leading people to Jesus. Before you go out for God, you must go out in prayer. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)
