Kyle T. Miller: "Deliverance is the Children's Bread"

This is a pretty potent word and testimony from Kyle T. Miller about the deliverance ministry the Lord gave him. There has been controversy about deliverance and if it really for our day...but it IS Scriptural for us as Jesus commanded His disciples:

 And as you go, preach, saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:7-8

I would encourage you to read this word by Kyle a couple times and seek the Lord in the area of deliverance ministry and let Him lead and guide you.

Introduction
 
It was 1997. I had just been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit for about a year. I had quit my job in the television news business to follow God and go to Bible College. I had packed up all of my things and moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma to South Central Los Angeles. I would spend my mornings in prayer, afterwards I would listen to Christian radio, and in the evenings I would go to Bible school.

While listening to Christian radio one day, I heard a teaching from an extremely anointed man of God who has now gone on to be with the Lord. He was teaching a series on demons and deliverance. He began to explain how demons manifest themselves and how they torment people - driving them to do ungodly things. Most of the time, these people who commit sins hate the things that they do. Yet, they continue to do them because there are evil spirits manifesting themselves in people's souls making them do things that they themselves hate. This teaching really resonated with me. My older sister, Dawn, had an issue she had been struggling with for several years. It seems to have started in college. Later after college and graduate school, Dawn had received her speech therapy license. Professionally she would seem to be on top of the world, yet she had a dark sin. She was an alcoholic. She had lost jobs and quit jobs because of her drinking problem. She had gone to rehab twice. Dawn really wanted to stop drinking, but she didn't know how. Dawn was at her wits end and didn't know what to do. Because of her chemical dependency, our whole family was on edge. We were all so scared that Dawn would eventually hurt herself.
 
While listening to the Bible teacher on the radio explain demonization and how these spirits harass people, I realized that my sister needed deliverance. I thought to myself, "Perhaps the reason why my sister cannot stop drinking is because she is demonized?" I began to pray about this issue, asking the Holy Spirit to give me more illumination. I also went on a fast.
 
Prophetic Deliverance
 
I thank the Lord for the Holy Spirit and His gifts! A few days while in prayer, the Lord prophetically spoke to me and said "Your sister Dawn will get delivered today and I'm going to use you to do it." I was excited and scared at the same time! I had never led anyone into deliverance, and I did not know what to do. I had written down the prayer that the Bible teacher used on the radio. I thought to myself, "I'll use this same prayer." The Lord then said, "Call her now. She's at home."

I thought that was so weird, because it was 10am in the morning. My sister should not be at home; she should be at work. Nevertheless, I called. I thought to myself, "Well, if she doesn't answer the phone, I'll know that this whole notion to lead my sister into deliverance wasn't God. So I will just go back to praying." I began to dial my mom and dad's house where Dawn was staying. My heart was pounding in my chest. I knew something major was about to go down. I was so scared!
 
I want to share a nugget of wisdom with you - whenever you feel as though God has told you to do something and you began to feel fear, that is a major confirmation from God that you are on the right track. The Scriptures state that God hasn't given us a spirit of fear (II Tim 1:7). So whenever we are feeling fear we know that it is not the Lord. Fear can be seen as a weakness or an infirmity. Apostle Paul used his infirmities as a tool to confirm God's purposes for his life.

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in  my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and  power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! 2 Corinthians 12:9 AMPC

Apostle Paul realized that wherever he experienced weakness, these were opportunities for the Holy Spirit to show off on his behalf. I now recognize that whenever I sense fear - this it is a sign that God is wanting me to move out in faith but the enemy is trying to stop me. The enemy would not try to get you in fear if he didn't think there was something for you to gain by stepping out in faith.
 
My sister Dawn was at home!
 
The phone dialed and after around 3 rings I began to think that I would get off the hook. I would not have to minister deliverance. But after my sister answered on the fourth ring, she said, "Hello." I asked her, "What are you doing home from work?" Dawn said, "I didn't feel good." I then asked her had she been drinking. With a pitiful voice Dawn said, "Yes."

I then got so mad at the devil. It was like a righteous anger rose up in me. Now that I understood it was not my sister, but a demon that was driving her to drink, I was so mad. In about 10 seconds I began to think of all the times that the devil had defeated Dawn. I was ready to do war. All-of-the-sudden, the Holy Spirit took over. It was like the wimpy, scared me disappeared and a powerful, confident man took over.

Prophecy, Discerning of Spirits, & the Word of Knowledge in Deliverance

The Spirit of Prophecy began to flow. I opened my mouth and the Holy Spirit said through me to my sister, "God says He is going to set you free today! Are you ready?" My sister said, "Yes". I then began to lead Dawn through a prayer I remembered hearing the Bible teacher on the radio give for people who wanted deliverance.

Finally, I asked my sister to repeat after me, "In the name of Jesus Christ, I command the spirit of alcoholism and addiction to leave me now, in Jesus' name!" When my sister got to the "...leave me now" she let out a blood curdling scream. By the gift of discerning of spirits, I supernaturally knew that a demonic spirit was lodged in her throat. A spirit of boldness came upon me. I commanded the demon, "You foul spirit, come out NOW! IN JESUS' NAME!"
 
I asked Dawn what was going on. She said, "Kyle, call daddy! I think I'm having a stroke!" (My father, now deceased, was a medical doctor.) I instantly became furious. By the Holy Spirit, I knew what was going on. The demon did not want to leave, so he was trying to make my sister think she was having a stroke to stall being evicted. I shouted, "Shut up you dumb devil. She is not having a stroke, and you are not going to give her a stroke. Come out now in Jesus' name!" The next thing I heard was a thud and then the phone hung up.
 
I knew the devil was stalling. So I began to pray, "You foul spirit, you will leave and leave you must in the mighty name of Jesus!" By the Spirit, I knew that the demon had left my sister. I then called my sister back and she was crying. She said, "Kyle! It's gone! It's gone! I felt it leave! I AM FREE!" We rejoiced and thanked God for setting her free. By God's grace, my sister is still free from alcohol! It has been almost 18 years since my sister has touched liquor! Glory to God!!!!
 
After this experience, I began to learn many more things about deliverance, how demons operate, how people become demonized, and how to get set free from the power of demons. For several years after this experience with my sister I had many successes in helping people be free from the power of satan. I have also had some defeats in deliverance ministry. (In further teachings I will be sharing with you experiences I have had in helping people expel demons. I will also share experiences of how I have gone through deliverance myself and even conducted self-deliverance. In these teachings I will also explain how you can get set free from demons and walk in freedom.)
 
The Great Commission included Deliverance
 
I want to share this passage given by our Lord Jesus before He ascended back to our Father:

And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well (Mark 16:16-17 AMPC, emphasis mine). 

Jesus commissioned us, as His born-again, blood-bought Believers to participate in deliverance ministry. I realize that deliverance ministry freaks some people out and seems spooky or scary. However, Jesus commissioned us to set people free from the oppression of satan through the ministry of deliverance. Deliverance ministry is arguably the most controversial ministry in the Body of Christ right now. But why? Why have we, the Church, allowed religious people to make deliverance a controversial ministry when Jesus has commissioned us to do it?
 
A Prophetic Vision
 
After many years of being in deliverance ministry, I started to get away from it. I don't think I was intentionally trying to get away from deliverance ministry, I just began to concentrate on other truths. Recently though I had a prophetic vision that let me know it was time for me to refocus on deliverance. While I was awake one night, I went into the spirit. I saw these roaches cover my right arm. Initially I jumped! (I hate roaches and I definitely don't want them on my arm!)

I then received a word of knowledge that said, "Shake them off!" I immediately shook my arm and the roaches began to fall off. As they fell off my arm they began to die. By the time the roaches hit the ground they were shriveled up and dead. After this open vision, I went into a deep sleep. The next morning when I woke up, I began to think about the vision of the roaches. I knew God was trying to tell me something. So I went through my Bible concordance looking for the word cockroaches and God led me to this Scripture: And have you ever ordered Morning, "Get up!" told Dawn, "Get to work!" So you could seize Earth like a blanket and shake out the wicked like cockroaches? (Job 38:15, Message Bible, emphasis mine). (Photo via Wikipedia)
 
When I read this Scripture, I instantly knew what the Lord was saying to me. The Holy Spirit was telling me that I have been given an authority (right arm) to shake evil off. I realized when God showed me this vision, that He was now holding me accountable for this revelation. I would have to re-focus my ministry again on deliverance.
 
A Prayer for Deliverance
 
If you would like God to set you free, please repeat this after me:
 
Dear Lord, I thank You that Your Son Jesus was made a curse so that I could be redeemed from the curse. Lord You know the issue that I have problems with. I repent for yielding to _____ (name the spirit(s) that have been enslaving you.) I also stand in the gap for my generations on both my mother's and father's side, repenting for their yielding to _____ [name the spirit(s)]. I command these spirits and all spirits associated with them to leave now! In Jesus' name!
