This is a good word for today from Jodi Hanson... and she shares from some of her own life experience of when the enemy tried to steal her peace.
Let the God of Peace fill you as you read through Jodi's word and I'll leave you with this from Jodi:
"...you can rest in His Peace knowing that He comes to our support and aid, upholding us, surrounding us and protecting us with His strength!... Therefore, let no circumstance rob you of your joy, let no situation keep you from adoring Him, and let no opposition or adversity keep your lips from giving God what is rightfully His."

"How to Activate God's Heavenly Guard of Peace"

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4
I love how Paul has to reiterate "again" to rejoice. When things get rough in life, it's not always our automatic bent to rejoice. Our spirit man has to remind our flesh that we must rejoice no matter what the circumstances because it's in the process of rejoicing "breakthrough" occurs.
David reminds us in Psalm 118:24, "This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." We are never promised tomorrow; every breath is a gift from God. Each day is a day to be grateful for and celebrate life. We may not always "feel" like it, but we must, "Give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God..." (1 Thessalonians 5:18). He commands it for our own benefit and He deserves it no matter what! When we rejoice and praise God each day, it breaks off a spirit of heaviness.
We reposition ourselves with praise and "serve the Lord through gladness" (Psalm 100:2). Our lips become fruitful when we acknowledge who He is and what He has done in our lives. So declare it into the atmosphere! When we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise, He comes to our aid! Wow, do you realize that each day we have the ability to exist in a higher place with Him? Seated above all things in Christ! "Rejoicing" Breaks Off Attacks and Strongholds
Do you realize that thanksgiving is a defensive shield, like a weapon that deflects a spirit of heaviness? Philippians 4:6-7, "Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation let your petitions be made known to God through prayer with THANKSGIVING. 'Then' God's PEACE, which goes far beyond anything we can imagine, will GUARD your hearts and minds in union with Christ Jesus..." That's right folks! Thanksgiving is an essential key to activating God's guard of PEACE to surround and protect you!
I remember back in 2008, when my husband Richard Hanson was in Africa with Jeff Jansen at a crusade for the filming of Furious Love. I was driving down the road and it was raining when suddenly a spirit of heaviness came upon me like a ton of bricks. I had recently recovered from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy which resulted in a near death experience. The spirit of heaviness was trying to fill my mind with lies to the point of having difficulty driving and I almost got into an accident.
Suddenly the spirit of the Lord rose up inside me! I heard Philippians 4:6-8: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.
I began to decree out loud, "God I praise You and thank You for saving and preserving my life! I thank You that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I thank You that my child is in Heaven being raised by You. I thank You for the opportunity we have to see souls saved and set free through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I thank You that Your glory is my rear guard and Your angels watch over me. I praise You..."
I continued to rejoice in the Lord with thanksgiving when suddenly I felt the wind of the Holy Spirit blow over me cutting the hooks of the spirit of heaviness off me. A warm blanket of peace flowed down and wrapped around me, filling me with joy! I felt God's strength fill me up. In an instant I began to rejoice. My heart was flooded with such a powerful peace that it surpassed my own understanding. The rain stopped, the sun came out and I beheld His Glory!
You see, Christ made a way through the Cross for us to come boldly into the courtroom of Heaven and make our request known to Him, "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may 'strongly support' those whose heart is completely His" (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Wow, you can rest in His Peace knowing that He comes to our support and aid, upholding us, surrounding us and protecting us with His strength! How exciting! This is cause enough to rejoice and be grateful for all eternity! Therefore, let no circumstance rob you of your joy, let no situation keep you from adoring Him, and let no opposition or adversity keep your lips from giving God what is rightfully His.
Rejoice in the Lord always and "again" I say REJOICE!
