Heidi Baker and her husband Rolland began Iris Ministries, Inc., an interdenominational mission, in 1980 and have been missionaries for the past twenty-five years. She was ordained as a minister in 1985 after completing her BA and MA degrees at Southern California College in Biblical Studies and Church Leadership.
Born in 1960 in California she grew up in Laguna Beach, California in rather privileged circumstances. She has had a dramatic conversion experience at age 16 that sent her on a lifelong mission when she was living on an Indian reservation in Mississippi as an American Field Service student. Several months after she was led to Jesus by a Navajo evangelist, she was taken up in a vision for several hours and heard Jesus speak audibly to her and tell her to be a minister and a missionary to Asia, England and Africa. She has a heart for the poor and is known for ‘stopping for the one’. Through the Bakers ministry thousands of orphans have been cared for and live knowing Jesus. You will be utterly inspired by Heidi’s love for Jesus and leave with knowing that He is always enough.

Rolland Baker was born in China as a third generation missionary. He began Iris Ministries in 1980 with his wife Heidi, and traveled to sit with the poor in the slums of central Jakarta, Hong Kong, and London. After ministering for twelve years in Asia and three years in the UK, Rolland Heidi arrived in Mozambique in 1995. Believing that the most likely place to see a revival was among the most unlikely, they were drawn to Mozambique, which was officially listed at the time as the poorest country of the world. As they began to pour out their hearts to the street children there, amazing miracles began to take place. Iris now sees thousands find Jesus every month. The deaf hear, the blind see, and the poor hear the good news. Rolland was greatly influenced by his grandfather, H.A. Baker, who wrote “Visions Beyond the Veil,” an account of the extended visions of heaven and hell that children received in his remote orphanage in southwest China two generations ago. His life's work with Heidi is to call faith and love into action.
