Theresa Phillips: "What Happened When I Danced with the King"

Theresa Phillips is a dear friend to me and my wife Derene... and we have loved ministering with her! In her latest article Theresa shares about a sickness she had, and how God intervened not only physically, but replenished her spirit and soul in her recovery process.

This Scripture comes to mind while reading through her word: But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness..." 2 Corinthians 12:9

Theresa not only shares about an encounter of "dancing with the King" but also gives us a prophetic exhortation to "strengthen others."

Whatever struggles or weaknesses you are facing, remember His GRACE is sufficient for you!

Several years ago I was faced with a very debilitating health issue. I had surgery and the hospital accidentally overdosed me with a medication to which I was allergic. I was not only faced with overcoming the surgery and still being sick, I was also facing short term memory loss due to the medication I was given.

Upon release from the hospital I was extremely weak and very underweight. I tried to stay faithful to the church I was pastoring. I rarely missed a service. It was even to the point where I was being helped up three steps to the altar. I was held up to preach, then escorted down and led to my car to get safely back home.

...Slowly I was recovering.

A Look in the Mirror and "Dancing with the King"

One Sunday morning, I was so weak I became confused and knew I was dehydrated. I drank down a bottle of Gatorade and water to strengthen myself. I was still planning to make it to church. I stepped into my dressing area and began to weep when I looked into the mirror and saw my frame, so broken, weak, disabled, and frail. And I wept some more.

I looked again in the mirror and I saw Jesus standing behind me. He was smiling at me. When I turned around, His arms and hands were open. He took me into His arms and began to move. I heard soft music in the background. Somehow a chorus of angels had entered the room and I was miraculously dancing with the King!

On His head was a simple golden crown. His arms were covered in white and scarlet robes. Me, I was in my terrycloth robe that was at least 15 years old and now was way too big! (Photo by Jennifer Page "Dance with Me" via elijahshopper.com)

He never noticed my weakness. He never noticed my sickness. He never noticed how thin I was. He just smiled at me with a smile only a daughter could love. I knew I was loved.

I felt a bit sheepish while I was moving around the room, when I noticed something...something fairy tales are made of. I looked at my feet. My feet had been placed upon His! He was guiding me through every step. He was moving my body. I had yielded myself completely to Him. I became His. He was mine.

After a few moments, I realized that He and I had stopped moving, and He released me and stretched out His hand as if to say, "Take a look now!"

This is what I saw...

I looked into the mirror. I was still thin. I was still weak, but not as weak. Yet I saw something I had not seen in a very long time. I saw a huge smile on my face. My cheeks were flushed and pink! My eyes had brightened, and I knew my entire countenance had changed. I was changed. Forever!

I managed to get ready for church. I walked in, ministered, and when service was over I went home and made dinner for my family like normal. I laid down that afternoon and suddenly the morning's surprise visit came flooding back.

The dance with the King that had taken place that very morning was alive in my spirit! I could feel the strength of Him near me. I could feel how my body responded to His presence! And I knew somehow I was going to be okay. I drifted off to sleep hearing the sound of that angelic choir that was still in the room but off in the distance.

I lingered there a long time, and then I slept for hours. When I awoke, I began to pray: "Jesus, was it all a dream?" I knew it was not, but just in case...

He Will Strengthen You and Set You Free Like He Did for Me

I felt the need to share this, because we are in perilous times. The Scriptures are being fulfilled rapidly. And, we know that uncertainty lies ahead. BUT, I heard the Lord's voice in the dance. Oh, yes I did! He spoke without saying a word. He answered my heart's cry. I was being healed.

Deuteronomy 31:6 ...[I] will never leave you nor forsake you.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Luke 13:12 When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity."

The house was motionless. I thought that all the people thought I was crazy, when, in truth, they had been changed. Hope filled their lives and an eruption of praise went forth. They too were getting free! As I gained more strength, I knew, for such a time as this, I had danced with the King. It was not just for me, but for them! They needed a moment in time where they too felt they were one with Him.

Prophecy for NOW: "You Need Your One Night with the King!"

Now that time, it's here again! "You need your one night with the King!" says the Lord.

"Yes, I will dance with you and cherish you. I will strengthen you. I am moving from place to place. I am drawing you near to Me. I am calling you: 'Come closer. Come and sit by Me,'" saith the Lord. "I am your covering!"

O Beloved of Jesus, hear Him proclaiming: "Now, O Church, arise! O woman, arise! O man, arise! I am calling! I am calling! I am longing for you to arise and be strong and of GOOD courage! I am with you. I will never leave you. I am covering you! I am praying for you! I am walking with you! I will carry you! I am ALL you need! GO, GO, GO and strengthen others because I have prayed for you!"

This Scripture began to flood my heart:

Luke 22:31-32 Simon, Simon (put your name in here), behold, satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.

O Lord, I receive, and I will turn again. And I will be strong. I will be.

And, my dear friends, YOU CAN TOO! For the best strength I can give you is my own testimony. HE IS WITH YOU!

Love and increased love and strength is my prayer toward you.
