But then when the reports start coming in, we find ourselves saying, "Do I really believe that's happening? Because IF IT'S HAPPENING, THEN I SHOULD EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN WITH ME TOO...AND SOON."

An Encounter with Promise

Just recently I had an encounter with an angel named Promise. It happened one afternoon when I was praying in my living room in Pasadena, California, and was praying for God to release a move of God to this generation. As I was praying, the atmosphere of the room changed and I went into an open vision where God began to speak to me about the promises of God.

When the atmosphere changed in this prayer time, my eyes were opened in the spirit and I saw a large angel that had a glory cloud swirling around him. As I watched this supernatural occurrence take place, I realized the angel was staring right at me. I noticed that the angel had a name tag on his chest. It was the type of sticky name tag where you write your name in a marker or pen following the words: "Hello. My name is..." and then stick it onto your shirt so that others can get to know you. Immediately after observing the angel and the swirling of cloud around him, the vision ended. When I came out of the vision three things struck me: firstly, God showed me this angel; secondly, the name of this angel was Promise; thirdly and most importantly, there was a glory cloud and the manifest presence of God that was swirling around this angel.

God Watches Over His Word and Keeps Track of His Promises

As I prayed into this amazing encounter, the Lord began to tell me that He wants to release an increase of His presence, glory, and power onto the earth. He showed me that many people around the world have been crying out to Him, asking Him for the next level of His presence and power and even a move of His Spirit. The Lord went on to tell me that one of the functions of angels is to oversee and release the promises of God over nations, regions and people. He told me that He sends His angels to watch over His Word and to perform it (see Psalm 103:20).

When the Holy Spirit showed me this, I realized that God wants His people to know that He keeps track of His promises and is faithful to bring them to pass in the right time and season. This is especially true when it comes to the promises of God from within His Word. After I had this encounter I began to think about the word "promise" and when I did, I realized that some of Jesus' last words to His disciples before He ascended into Heaven were to "wait until they received the promise of the Father" (see Acts 1:4).

"Behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high." Luke 24:49

This Scripture out of Luke gives us a clue into what the promise of the Father is. It also reveals to us a bit of what I believe this angel was on assignment to bring. Jesus was prophesying about the baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire that would take place on the Day of Pentecost not long after Jesus would ascend into Heaven. The result of this prophecy is the Church being endued with power from on high (see Acts 2:1-3).

After I looked at this Scripture and prayed further into the purpose of the angel I saw, I felt the Lord tell me that He was now releasing angels on assignment to cause revival activity to be stirred up in certain churches, cities and nations. These churches, cities and nations are ones that have believed God for the promise of a move of the Spirit of God. As I thought about this I began to realize that as a seer, or someone who has a gift to see in the spirit, I have often seen angels come into meetings and stir up or shift the atmosphere of a meeting.

Angels in Meetings

I recalled a time when I was in a large meeting and things felt quite dead in the spirit. All of a sudden I saw an angel come into the room during worship and with that angel came the manifest presence of God. I have seen this many times over the last eight years of itinerate ministry, both in meetings that I have preached and in ones that I have attended. One thing I have noticed over the years is that whenever the glory of God comes into a room, so do the angels – they seem to work hand in hand. Just a few weeks ago my wife and I had the privilege of ministering in Singapore and Myanmar (formally known as Burma). In both places, in the spirit, I saw this angel named Promise before ministering. In one of the afternoon sessions in Singapore, the glory of God invaded the room as I began to sing and lead the people into the presence of God. After about 20 minutes of singing, we began to pray for people and all sorts of notable miracles started to break out. Metal pins and plates started to disappear out of people's bodies, deaf ears began to open, and so much more.

Then we flew off to Myanmar and had three days of meetings there. As we went to Myanmar I saw this angel of Promise again. This time the results were staggering as the place where we were meeting was filled with the glory of God. People began to get healed like popcorn in the atmosphere – without anyone praying for them. The Holy Spirit flooded the room and over 500 people testified to being healed over the weekend as me, my wife, and others preached to them.

Then the doctors' reports began to come in with x-rays and documentation, and the pastors have reported to us that since we left Myanmar there have been over 30 cases of people with cancer healed from our meetings! And these are only the ones that have been verified by doctors! The results of the power of God showing up were that many people gave their lives to Christ!

I believe that God is releasing Heaven's help and angels of promise to begin to bring unusual glory and miracles into meetings where God finds hunger. They are sent into the earth for the purpose of bringing prophetic promises in the Body of Christ to pass.

A Fresh Move in Our Generation – Take Time to Pray!

I believe God gave me my original encounter with the angel named Promise to let me and the people of God know that He is about to release a fresh move of His Spirit and power, and that He has not forgotten about the promise of a move of God in our generation. He wants us to know that angels are being released from Heaven on our behalf to bring healing, awakening, and glory into our lives, meetings and homes.

I also believe that God wants us to become like the early Church and wait and pray with expectancy so that we would be endued with power from on high like the early Church was. This said, I encourage you to make time to pray. Know that God sends His angels to accelerate His promises to come to pass in our lives as we hunger for Him and pray into His promises over our lives and cities.

Don't get me wrong, it's all about the King of the Kingdom – Jesus Christ. We would be foolish to just focus on angels, but we would be just as foolish to ignore the angelic realm and the assistance that God longs to give us. The book of Hebrews tells us that God's angels are flames of fire and are ministering spirits sent from God to assist those who are to inherit salvation. In other words, they are Heaven's help for those who believe.

I believe we are in a fresh season of outpouring! God is going to send the rain of His Spirit and bless the western world churches. Since I had this encounter, God has been showing me that it is time for the hardest of places to be cracked open with the glory of God and that He is about to send a move of His Spirit to the United States, Canada, and even all across the UK.

I believe it is a time to believe God for the promise of a fresh move of His Spirit to happen and to get hungry for the manifest presence of God's glory. I believe that we are going to see a release of presence, glory, and power that is going to rock the western mindset and theology in this next season when it comes to the presence of God and His power.

Birthing the Promises of God over Cities and Nations

When I had the vision, God really began to highlight to me the entire West Coast of the United States and Canada. He spoke to me that He was about to release many angels on assignment, like the one I had just encountered, to start to birth the promises of God over cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Medford and Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, Canada. I felt the Lord tell me that it is time to begin to believe Him for the promises of another Jesus movement and another Great Awakening. I believe these are just a few places of many that God is about to send fresh moves of His presence and power to in order to awaken the promises of outpouring and salvation on the earth.

I don't believe that this angel of Promise was an angel that was just assigned to our ministry or only to these specific cities and regions. I believe that God is releasing many angels, just like the one I saw, to the Body of Christ. He will release them to those who have not grown weary and who have not given up on God's promises, and to those who remain hungry for His presence. It's time to get hungry for the promises of God to come to pass over your church, city, and even over your family. It's time to heed Jesus's last Words to His disciples and spend time in His presence until we are endued with power from on high (see Luke 24:49).

The promise of the Father is released to those who hunger and thirst for Him. The key to everything in this season is hungering for the manifest presence of God and decreeing His Word and promises in prayer. One thing I have learned in walking with God in the Spirit is that you have to decree what you see. Jesus never begged His Father to do anything. He always used the authority He was given by the power of the Holy Spirit and spoke out what His father showed Him or spoke to Him (see John 5:19).

Now is the time to dust off those old prayer/prophecy journals and get into the presence of God, declaring the Word of the Lord over our lives, cities, regions and families until something breaks out and Heaven responds with breakthrough!
