Need An Adjustment? God is Building Momentum
The few times I've been to a chiropractor have been interesting, to say the least. Placing oneself at the mercy of someone who's going to pull, contort, and compress you, all for the sake of greater wellbeing, is a scary experience. I don't know about you, but "snap," "crackle," and "pop" are sounds I like best reserved for breakfast time.
Invariably, I'll find my 6-foot, 7-inch frame twisted like a pretzel, making me look like I'm preparing for a world-class "Twister" tournament.
Although inconvenient, painful, and often times intimidating, especially the sudden neck twist, I've always walked away feeling more supple, better aligned, and pain alleviated. Obviously, this is not a solicitation for chiropractic visits, but it does paint a picture that can be paralleled in our spiritual lives.
Firstly, lying on that adjustment table takes a degree of faith. I mentioned the neck "snap" adjustment. If the person performing the procedure doesn't know what they're doing, one wrong twist could mean the difference between helpful versus harmful. It therefore takes a level of faith to willingly allow someone to perform these corrections.
God is Building Momentum
In like manner, allowing oneself to be placed on The Potter's wheel, takes faith. What if He tweaks us in a way we don't like? What if our life gets contorted and outwardly looks like a pretzel? What if we hear snap, crackle, and pop sounds? What if it hurts? What if, what if, what if? All valid questions! The reality, though, is that we're called to live by faith (see Habakkuk 2:4 and Hebrews 10:38). That means we trust God emphatically with every detail of our life.
If ever there was an hour for the Church to have a heightened degree of faith, it's now. We cannot allow ourselves to be dictated to by the tsunami of injustices and moral depravity flooding our society. We cannot afford to allow the flood of circumstantial evidences of evil filling our nation to dictate our belief system. Now is the hour for the Church to rise above what is seen with the naked eye.
To lay hold of a spiritual dimension of eyesight that transcends everything visible; to have a heavenly perspective of our placement, provision, and power. If the Church is going to thrive in this season, it is because she has apprehended her heavenly status. This takes faith! In Luke 18:8 the question is asked: "When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"
Which leads us to the second parallel. The procedure seems to contradict the eventual alignment. In order words, to get aligned, you have to first be twisted.
When God is busy adjusting or correcting us, oftentimes to the naked eye, it looks as if our lives are knotted. And it may easily appear contrary to the alignment we so desperately seek. You've probably heard of the analogy of an arrow being shot from a bow. In which direction does the arrow go first? That's right, backwards. You see, in order for the arrow to go forward, it has to first go backwards. Why? Momentum!
Many times it appears as if our life is going "backwards," or in the opposite direction of where we want to go or to where God has called us. Take heart, my friend, because God is building momentum in your life. That's right, the bow is being stretched for God to launch you forth with a great thrust.
And when He releases you, because you have the necessary impetus, there will be no demonic resistance or human vessel that will withstand the force with which you're being shot. You will not deviate to the right nor left, but will fly straight toward the mark for which you were destined. And land smack bang in the center of it (see Isaiah 45:2). You are called to hit the bull's eye in every assignment for which you have been launched.
Knit Together
The end goal of the adjustments is alignment. The methodology behind the field of chiropractic is that when there is alignment, pressure is relieved, blood flow becomes unhindered, and sinews, nerves, cartilage, etc., can adequately support optimal body performance. Alignment is therefore vital to our body's natural function.
In the fourth chapter of Ephesians, the apostle Paul uses the analogy of a human body to describe the spiritual Body of Christ...A.K.A. the Church.
...but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ – from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the Body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:15-16
Notice the full functioning of the Body is achieved only when each individual part is knit together. The word "knit" is best known from grandma's winter scarves, but holds also as its meaning: "fitted together," "to unite securely," "become securely joined or mended together closely – as a fractured bone."
All of these definitions imply that there's a specific order of alignment. You cannot have a mass ensemble of bones haphazardly connected at will and expect the body to function. No, each has a very specific placement to achieve consonance. The Church is intended to be a brilliant, tessellated design of intricately-connected individual Believers, each having their proper placement.
God Is Aligning Us
In the Book of Ezekiel (chapter 37), the prophet bearing the same name is taken into a valley of dry bones. He is instructed to begin a series of prophetic declarations, each with an immediate consequential result. Firstly, his prophetic decrees produced the scattered bones' convergence (verse 7); then tendons and flesh appearing on them (verse 8); and then skin covering the bones (verse 8). His final prophetic utterance resulted in a divine, heavenly breath entering these newly formed bodies (verse 10). Scripture records after the breath entered them, "they came to life and stood up on their feet – a vast and exceeding army" (verse 10).
As with much Scripture, this paralleled prophetic snapshot gives credence to both the nation of Israel and the Church.
What is being portrayed here is the great end-time Church that will arise with the divine breath (ruach hakodesh) of God upon her and become a mighty army. Notice though, it all started with bones coming together in their proper placement.
This is further substantiated in the Book of Joel (chapter 2); which speaks about this same great end-time army.
...a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. Joel 2:2b
After reading in the proceeding verses about all they'll accomplish, the principle of alignment is again highlighted as a pre-qualifier for their great works.
They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks. Joel 2:7
"They shall not break their ranks" implies that each will be in their proper place, i.e. alignment.
The body analogy of the apostle Paul, the dry bones of Ezekiel, and the great end-time army of the prophet Joel all point to proper alignment in the Body of Christ – for the great end-time army to arise and perform the mighty feats for which she was intended (see also Daniel 11:32b)
God is bringing alignment into His Body on both a personal and corporate level. He's placing His Bride on the chiropractic table so-to-speak. He's rearranging, reordering, removing, restructuring, and replacing many things. Perhaps you can attest? There are some of you who are seeing relationships and alignments shift. For many in the business arena, old strategies and methodologies have had to change and adapt. For others, material possessions and accumulations have had to be shed. For others, it's a shift of inaccurate belief systems. For yet others, it's shedding old habits, receiving healing from past hurts, letting grievances of the past go.
"Yes," says the Lord, "it may feel uncomfortable now, and yes, it may look as if many things are 'twisted,' but when I'm done, My Church will be in perfect order and alignment. Things that seemed crooked will be straightened out (see Isaiah 45:2); things that seemed 'dislocated' will instantly be popped back into alignment. When you walk out of My consulting room, you'll feel a lot looser, pain of the past seasons will be alleviated, and you'll start seeing things flow that were blocked before.
"On a global level, there is an alignment occurring between those states and nations that are aligned with the country of Israel and Judeo-Christian views versus those that aren't. Those that are will begin to see the benefits of such alignment, while those that aren't will begin to see the detrimental consequences of not being properly allied with Me," says the Lord.
This is the hour where division lines are being drawn before our very eyes. The polarization has begun. When it is complete, there will only be two very distinct groups of people on the earth: the true children of light and the children of darkness.
Do not fear polarization, it's a sign of the age (wheat versus tares, sheep versus goats, etc.).
Placement Determines Provision
Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Matthew 6:25-30
The key to understanding the provision that comes to the lily and the bird is found in their placement. It would be absurd to see a bird stuck with its beak in the mud or a lily flying through the air. The reason provision came to both respectively is because they were functioning where they were meant to be functioning.
The key principle of provision is thus: placement determines provision. When we are placed (aligned) where we're meant to be, provision will automatically flow to us.
So a key component of this newfound alignment is provision. God wants to get His supernatural provision to the Body, but in order to do that, they need to be properly aligned. This alignment can take on many forms and is unique for each individual. One common alignment, however, is to ensure vocationally that you're functioning on your correct societal mountain. We're all aware by this stage of the seven spheres or mountains of society: arts and entertainment; business; education; family; government; media; and religion/church.
God is shifting many saints from one societal mountain to another, based on their individual calling and destiny. Many of you have been operating in an incorrect sphere and wondering why provision has not come. You're like the lily trying to fly through the air. It's been frustrating because deep inside you've known that you didn't fit. The Lord is saying, "No more will you function where I have not placed you."
"Embrace this transferal shift because it is to better position you for your much overdue and backlogged provision. The kink in the pipe so-to-speak is getting unknotted so blessings can begin to flow.
"The Church collectively is also shifting in her role. She is moving from being a showcase of 'church incorporated' to becoming the catalyst of My Kingdom. She will now become the conduit through which the Kingdom of Heaven will be displayed. Those that have taken the time and have allowed Me to shift and align them personally will be part of this new corporate move being birthed in this hour," says the Lord.
"You'll begin to see Me manifest Myself personally through you, in ways you would never have dreamed of. Did I not say I would do exceedingly above and beyond what you could ever have dreamed or imagined? Now is the time for the manifestation of My glory through you. The shift has already taken place in the heavenly realm, and is being manifested in the earth through you. And all will see and know that you are aligned with Me," declares the Lord.
