The Momentum of a "Seismic and Atmospheric" Spiritual Shift
The momentum of an unprecedented "seismic and atmospheric" spiritual shift that is taking place, and the way in which it is "earthed," is at a defining stage. The landscape of the Church is facing, and will yet encounter, profound change.
Events, both natural and otherwise, that have been happening, are occurring, and will continue to increase – are signs commensurate with opposing spiritual pressures building and extraordinary changes confronting our hearts, personally and corporately. In contrast to the fortification of fear and pride, there is a humility, courage, and boldness on the rise among the Lord's people, for as Jesus said, "...stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near" (Luke 21:28).
Just as the dawning of the day precedes the source of its light, so the glory of our Lord Jesus will increasingly shine preceding His return. Consequently, what is not of the Light and has been hidden in darkness, even in the Church, is being exposed, getting clearer, and becoming increasingly unsettled and disturbed.
Of all cities on earth, the city of Christchurch in New Zealand has experienced unprecedented seismic shaking since early September 2010. This prophetic sign in the natural points to the shaking, shifting, and changing in the spiritual. Truly, Christ's Church has begun to shake, is shaking, and will yet be completely shaken, "...so that what cannot be shaken may remain" (Hebrews 12:27).
The "seismic and atmospheric" spiritual pressure of the Spirit is bringing about a restoration of the humility of Christ and sensitivity to the Spirit, on which the Church was founded. God's purpose is that the Church would be completely secure and at home in knowing Him and His ways, even when "all Hell is breaking loose."
There is no "commodity" in the world so powerful as the grace of God. Whatever sin we see in our lives, or in others, it is no match for the power of the efficacy of the Blood of Jesus. Such trust and peace in God's love as this, where there is hostility in spirit and on the ground, makes warriors!
The dragon and his angels were not strong enough to keep their place in Heaven. All on earth who are aligned with the Kingdom are victorious, for "they triumphed over him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death" (Revelation 12:11).
Every power of darkness bows to the truth that "Jesus Christ is Lord" (Philippians 2:11). The focus is our Savior, not sin, nor our adversary, nor terror. In every spiritual battle "earthed" in the reality of life in these last days, Jesus is Lord, our resting place, and our strength.
What we have been so accustomed to with how we see and do "church" will give way to our true security – the Rock! Our traditions, our services, our programs, our structures, and the like, will yet yield to the Spirit being Lord. Seeing what this looks like with new eyes is before us: "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is [where the Spirit is Lord], there is freedom" (2 Corinthians 3:17).
The Church's freedom from fear and pride, exchanged for being absolutely secure in our Father's love in Jesus, is on the march. The Holy Spirit is orchestrating and engineering this "seismic and atmospheric" spiritual shift and changing of the landscape. He is altering our focus, above all else, on our security being in the grace of God: the love of God in the Cross and resurrection of Jesus.
Seeing, recognizing, and discerning what has begun to take place in these last days, the Church will fearlessly rise to walk in the power of its present and forthcoming redemption. As Jesus said, "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near" (Luke 21:25-28).
