While the Elijah List cannot support every single widow, we can attempt to help a recent widow, as it relates to this prophetic ministry. Richard Twiss was both my friend plus he was a speaker and writer for The Elijah List. So, I am personally coming to you, our Elijah List readers, to make an appeal on behalf of Richard's beloved wife, Katherine, who has just become a widow. Would you pray about helping Katherine Twiss in her time of need? None of this money will touch The Elijah List's bank account. We are linking DIRECTLY to Wiconi International.

Richard Leo Twiss
June 11, 1954 - February 9, 2013
Among the themes of Richard's ministry were the concepts of compassionate care and "justice". Biblically speaking, the word for justice simply means to do what is right, proper and fitting for those who, because of their situation in life, have neither the wherewithal nor ability to secure it or do it for themselves. In other words, those who need justice also need an advocate. The prophet Micah challenges us with these words: "He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you?" (Micah 6:8). Acting justly requires action. But how and to whom should just actions be demonstrated? Deuteronomy 10:18 offers us these observations: "He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, giving him food and clothing."
Our single-minded concern right now lies with Katherine Twiss, Richard's beloved wife of 37 years. The grief she is carrying is more public and magnified because years ago she threw in her lot with a prophetic visionary. Richard not only belonged to Creator and Katherine, Richard belonged to people around the world. Katherine understood this stewardship and bore it with grace and dignity. Yet, as often happens with entrepreneurial people, his calling and sacrifice did little to prepare Katherine for Richard's early exit and the practical concerns of life. Richard and Katherine were betting on another fifteen or twenty years of effective and purposeful ministry.
The board of Wiconi International feels led at this time to make a worldwide appeal to the Body of Christ to proactively engage in Biblical compassion and justice on behalf of Richard's beloved widow Katherine ? this wonderful woman who shared her husband with us.
Richard Was the Primary Income Earner
Richard was not only Katherine's soul mate; he was also the primary income earner. The medical liabilities from Richard's last days alone are staggering. Their present obligations, which include a mortgage on their residence and another mortgage for the Wiconi Ministry House, are now her sole responsibility.
Our proposal is simple. We are laying down an appeal for 1000 people to commit to a gift of $1000, which can be fulfilled over a twelve-month period. These gifts will be directed through Wiconi as a love offering for Katherine that will allow her to settle her debts and hopefully leave enough to carry her through the days ahead of her.
Some will have the wherewithal to fulfill this commitment immediately. For others, it will be a challenge that can be completed over the twelve months.
