Embrace the Wind
Around the world we see God repositioning His people. The season is changing. Looking at this as the world sees it, our first response might be to resist change due to fear of the unknown. But with the mind of Christ we recognize that life led by the Spirit will never remain the same. None of us can predict which way the Wind of the Spirit will blow next. If our goal is to respond to the Spirit, change will become an expected constant in our lives.
2 Corinthians 3:18 reminds us that we are transformed into Christ's likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Transformation requires that we accept, even welcome change.
Embrace Change
What has been fruitful, fulfilling and productive in the past season may no longer be the best. In order to take hold of a new thing, it is often necessary for us to release our grip on an old thing (a ministry, job, or position) that is near, dear and comfortable. Though still good, the old thing can slow us down because it is not the best. God's hand of favor will not rest upon those clinging to the old, familiar place. His desire is that we hold on to Him.
This demands discernment and listening to hear from Father what things we are to cling tightly to and which to let go. At times we slip into thinking God really needs us in roles we have occupied well in past years when the time is right for someone else to take over. He is doing new things! Sometimes we must be willing to let go of good things in order to be free to take hold of what is next. This is an exciting time to be in the "school of the Holy Spirit." Listen. Trust. Obey.
You will also need great grace as others you have been working or ministering with will also be feeling these winds of change. There will be new partnerships and new alliances, hallelujah! Conversely there will be some sentimental partings. Be ready to gracefully release these loved brothers and sisters into God's perfect plan for their lives.
We are both born of the Spirit and born by the Spirit. God's truths never change, but the manifestation of His will in our lives has new expression day by day. Through experience it becomes clear that God's plan is always the best. Rejoice in any change initiated by your loving Father. Change is a tool required for the transformation process allowing us to fulfill our destinies in Him.
You can trust the Wind. Be light as a feather. Holy Spirit will blow you exactly where He desires you to go in this season of change. Embrace it. Embrace Him!
