Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:

Not only does Kim Clement give profound prophecies but he likewise shares deep teachings. This is a great teaching by my friend Kim Clement on the "peace offering." It's not a financial appeal, as he shares, but a teaching and revelation – and of "giving out of the right heart," I might add.

Please remember us in your giving this year. We are a FOR-PROFIT organization, therefore, your contribution will NOT be tax-deductible. Kim ClementI have been speaking recently about the peace offering and how beautiful it is to bring this to the Lord. Please understand that this is not a financial appeal, this is a teaching and revelation on what it means to break the power of despising the offering. Religion has corrupted and tainted the attitude of giving and what God intended to be a beautiful, joyful exchange.

Recently, I had an incredible experience with God in my garden. On this particular day, I was instructed by God to greet the day with His praise. So I checked my phone to find out the exact time the sun would rise in California that morning, and at 6:09AM I was in my garden ready to minister to the Lord. I spent about an hour praising and worshiping, when I suddenly felt the undeniable presence of God behind me. I literally felt His hand on my back and I heard Him say to me, "What about you? Would you like Me to do something for you? You've cared for so many, and I want you to know that I care about you. What do you want Me to do for you?"

Most of you are familiar with all the great things that have taken place in my garden and you have probably heard me speak about all of the praying I do for all of you from there. But on this particular morning, God was reaching out to ME. He then spoke to Me and said, "I want you and those that are connected with you in covenant, to bring a peace offering before Me, so that you can all partake of a peace that passes all understanding." He was speaking of a peace that will guard your hearts and your minds in a time where all we are hearing is bad news.

So I took a moment to write down on my iPad my greatest need, as God had instructed me to do. It was then that I knew it was something we all had to do together as we gathered together in my Den. If you saw the Den broadcast from August 6th, 2011, you will see that God's presence was so tangible and His peace was released as we all wrote our greatest need down on paper and brought our peace offering to the Lord.

What is the Peace Offering?

What is the peace offering? Let me teach you the most beautiful truth I have found regarding this. Let's take a look at the time of Samuel and Eli in the Old Testament. Eli was the high priest at the time and he and his sons were wicked and corrupt. Apostasy and prophetic inactivity characterized these days of Eli. It was at this time that Hannah went to the temple to pray for a child. Hannah was barren, which was a disgrace in those days, and that barrenness pushed her to pray daily for a child. As she prayed at the temple, she promised God that if He would give her a child, she would lend him to the Lord all the days of his life.

The Lord heard her prayer and the next year Hannah would give birth to Samuel, one of the greatest prophets on the earth. He was born during one of the darkest periods of Israel's history. The Bible says in I Samuel 3:1: "Samuel ministered to the Lord... and the word of the Lord was rare in those days." At that time in Israel, there was no widespread revelation and no open Heaven. Samuel was ministering to the Lord in the presence of corruption. "But the child [Samuel] ministered to the Lord BEFORE Eli the priest" (I Samuel 2:11). It was in the presence of this corruption that a prophet ministered to the Lord.

God knew that Samuel would bring the prophetic voice and that he would call the people to a revival of the true worship of Yahweh. There must be a "Hannah" present to give birth to the prophetic voice in a generation.

After Samuel is born, Hannah lends him to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:28). The word "lend" means to give on condition that it is returned and the interest is paid for its temporary use; to make a loan. Hannah must have known that although it would be difficult to give her son to the Lord, she was actually going to be receiving something in return. The same should be with you and your offerings to the Lord. Your giving is actually lending. Hannah understood this. When you give, whether money or time, you are lending it to the Lord because it's going to come back to you in many, many ways. God takes your gift and uses it, but then there is an interest that comes back to you.

Let's take a look at a key point I want to make. The Bible says in I Samuel 2:12: "Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the Lord." It goes on in verse 17: "Therefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord, for men abhorred the offering of the Lord." Please note what they despised and hated – the offering. The sons of Eli were guilty of taking more of the sacrifice than their allotted portion (Leviticus 7:34). They were taking the meat before the fat had been burned as a sacrifice to God.

The sons of Eli did not honor the peace offerings that were brought by the people as they should have. The peace offering was a sacrifice of concord and happiness, and was the only offering in which the giver shared by eating a portion of the sacrifice. People gave it, but they also received a portion of it as they gave. A peace offering begins at the time you give it and you expect something in return. So you should come celebrating. The sons of Eli were taking more than their allotted portion and the people began giving with hatred and anger.

Does that sound familiar? Have you watched some televangelists, at times, the way they sell things trying to get you riled up to give? Some of them use fear so that you will give. Some despise it, and some hate it. When the offering is being taken, I've heard people sarcastically say, "There they go again." The sanctity and beauty of giving an offering to God has been taken away. This is not about money only; this is about ministering to Him. It's about saying to the Lord, "This is hard for me, but I'm offering it to You, knowing that it's going to come back to me in many, many other ways."

Let's take a look at the return that Hannah received for her gift to God in I Samuel 2:19-21: "Moreover his mother used to make him a little robe, and bring it to him year by year when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. And Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and say, 'The Lord give you descendants from this woman for the loan that was given to the Lord.' Then they would go to their own home. And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile the child Samuel grew before the Lord."

The peace offering brings increase and multiplication. It is lent, which is actually what spiritual giving is. When you give to God, you are lending. You are saying, "I'm giving it to You knowing that it's going to come back – in many, many ways." Samuel never came back to Hannah, but she had three more sons and two daughters. She had children because the Lord visited her and so it came back to her.

"He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given" (Proverbs 19:17). Are you ready to bring your need to the Lord? I want you to actually write it out and bring it before the Lord. Not full of fear or somberness. Bring your peace offering with joy and celebration and in the presence of your need, which is your enemy, and give unto the Lord.

As you notice in our meetings, when the presence of God comes in, you get soft. You suddenly forget about your fear. You realize there is a presence of God and it's so tangible. He has a future for us. Igniting of your faith and fear begins to dissipate. Don't lose that sight now. Break the power of despising the offering in your life. I promise you, once you catch this concept, you will see God's mighty power of giving back to you, WITH INTEREST!
