Bind and Loose, Open and Shut
Matthew 18:18 Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.
Whatever you lock will be locked and whatever you open will be opened; whatever you prohibit will be prohibited and whatever you allow will be allowed.
I think we might all have the idea that God opens the doors or windows automatically for us to receive good things rather than us opening the doors that exist in Heaven (spirit realm).
Bill had a vision several years ago where he was on a platform of some kind that was surrounded with many, many doors. They were not open, but could be opened.
Malachi 3:10 "Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of Heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it."
In this passage the window is there, but we must be obedient to God's word for it to open.
Isaiah 60:11 Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, and their kings in procession.
Deuteronomy 28:1-8, 12 Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:
Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
The LORD will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you... The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
Isaiah 22:22 The key of the house of David I will lay on His shoulder; so He shall open, and no one shall shut; and He shall shut, and no one shall open.
Matthew 16:19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven.
Isaiah 45:1-3 Thus says the LORD to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held – to subdue nations before him and loose the armor of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut: "I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel."
Remember Nathanael who had just recognized Jesus as the Son of God?
John 1:51 And He (Jesus) said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see Heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."
The Lord has told us that we are in the season of the "Open Door." I believe this is the time when we will have revelation that will enable us to open and shut more effectively.
Small Straws in a Soft Wind: "I will open doors before you, and you will behold new vistas and prospects for the future that you really never dreamed of. And I will bring you by a way that you have not known and make your feet like hind's feet that will enable you to negotiate even the most difficult of paths. You will scramble up the craggiest places as though it were level ground because I am with you to make the crooked places straight and the rough places smooth."
Here's what I would like to see us do as a Body of Believers. I have already done this for myself:
• Identify the areas where the doors have been open to the devil to bring curses, sickness, poverty, opposition. Break the assignments in Jesus' name (by His power and shed Blood). And, the most important thing is to bind him and shut the door on the attack. We have learned the importance of shutting the door to stop the attack. We do this deliberately and in faith.
• Then identify the areas where the doors have been shut against the promises of God for things that you need like healing, prosperity, opportunity, favor, etc. Write those down and keep them. Then, move into the spirit realm by focusing on the Lord and knowing His will for your needs.
Matthew 6:6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Shut the door on hindrances and the devil's activity against you!
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
Don't just mouth the words. Do business with God in your heart. We will be amazed at what God will do! Amen.
