Christians Celebrate July 4th - God and Country Nation-wide

President Washington said, "...it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God..."
Christians nation-wide are coming together with a "God and Country" rededication prayer on July 4th. "Turning to God as a nation brings God's blessings to Americans," says Pastor Steven Andrew of USA Christian Ministries and author of "Making A Strong Christian Nation."

By praying the USA's Covenant with God and singing "God Bless America'" "America the Beautiful" and "In God is our Trust" from the "Star Spangled Banner's" additional verse, our nation draws near to God explains Pastor Steven. "Our two most famous Americans, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, would approve," he adds.
President Washington said, "...it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God..." And President Lincoln said, "...those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord..."
On July 3rd churches across the nation were invited to pray together and on July 4th, today, individuals and groups are invited to pray the covenant prayer. The prayer is:
Father,
As Your Christian nation, we affirm our covenant: You, the LORD, are the God of the USA and we are Your people. Jesus is our King. We obey what You say in the Holy Bible. We love You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. We love one another as Jesus loved us. We ask You to forgive our sins by Jesus' sacrifice.
In Jesus' name. Amen. (Psalm 33:12, Mark 12:30, John 13:34, 2Chronicles 15:12)
"The Jamestown Settlers' first act was to covenant America to God by planting a tall cross upon arriving - the pilgrims and our Founding Fathers followed in covenant," says Pastor Steven. The USA's Covenant with God is explained Biblically and historically in "Making A Strong Christian Nation."
The Jamestown Settlers covenant prayer is:
"We do hereby dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the People within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up Godly generations after us, and with these generations take the Kingdom of God to all the earth. May this Covenant of Dedication remain to all generations, as long as this earth remains... May all who see this Cross, remember what we have done here, and may those who come here to inhabit join us in this Covenant..."
