Angela Robinson: Joy That Cannot Be Stolen
Feb 7, 2026
Introduction from Anne Jackson:
Joy That Cannot Be Stolen February is an invitation to reclaim joy. Joy is not a fleeting emotion, but a strength rooted in identity and the fruit of a Spirit-led life. While we often associate joy with the Christmas season, God never intended it to be temporary or seasonal. Joy is meant to be lived year-round, flowing from knowing God and living anchored in who He says we are. Envy Erodes Joy "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones." (Proverbs 14:30 NIV) Did you know the word joy appears more than 150 times in Scripture? Joy is described as a state of delight and well-being that flows from knowing and serving God. It is not something we manufacture through effort or circumstances, nor is it sustained by seeking happiness or self-indulgent pleasure. Joy is the fruit of a right relationship with God and learning how to live a Spirit-filled life. So, what is envy? Often translated as jealousy, envy is the resentful awareness of another's talents, possessions, status, or success. It can even disguise itself as motivation, quietly shifting our focus away from truth. What may begin as innocent comparison can slowly erode joy when our attention moves toward what we lack or what others appear to have. When envy takes root, joy begins to fade... not because God has withdrawn it, but because our focus has shifted. When our hearts are anchored in Him, peace returns and joy remains steady and secure. Joy rooted in relationship with God cannot be stolen. Living from Authority and Identity "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)
How do we gain and live from a place of authority? One word: intimacy. Authority grows from a deep, personal relationship with God. When we truly know who we are and whose we are, we stop striving for position in the world and begin living from Kingdom authority. From this place, we carry ourselves with quiet confidence and peaceful authority, grounded in truth and secure in the power of a sound mind. Joy as Strength "The joy of the Lord is your strength." (Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV) Joy is not something we protect through effort; it is something we receive as we remain aligned with God. When joy flows from identity and intimacy with Him, it becomes strength. God steadies our hearts and empowers us to move forward with confidence. This kind of joy does not fade with seasons or circumstances. It is constant, available, and sustaining. Joy grows naturally when we stop measuring our lives against others and start living from who God says we are. This is a season to reclaim confidence, creativity, and strength rooted in identity. Declarations: 1. My joy is rooted in God and cannot be stolen. 2. I am rooted in truth and release envy. 3. I walk in confidence, authority, and peace.
