Nate Johnston: Your Home Has Been the Target

The following word was released on July 15, 2025: A few weeks ago, I woke up in the middle of the night from a dream. In the dream, the windows of a house were left open, and an intruder was trying to get inside. I woke up in a mild panic and began walking through my own home, making sure every single window and door was shut, the lights were off, and the house was secure. As I walked back upstairs to go to bed, I suddenly felt the presence of God. I knew this was spiritual. It wasn't just a bad dream. It was a prophetic sign. The Lord began to show me that He is calling many Believers, especially families, into a greater level of spiritual alertness for the hour ahead. He is calling us to fortify and reset the foundations of our homes in order to protect our marriages, our children, and our livelihoods from the subtle and strategic attacks of the enemy, who comes like an intruder to rob and destroy. The Scripture says in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (NIV). This was the verse that came to my heart as I asked the Lord what He was saying. I felt strongly that the Lord was showing me how targeted families have become in this season. Homes Under Spiritual Fire Many homes are under spiritual fire. There has been a wide range of attacks over the past six months, and especially recently. Why? Two reasons. First, because the enemy sees that family will be the vehicle of revival and reformation in the days ahead. Second, because we are entering a time where revival will be birthed not through organizational structure, but through genuine connection, authentic family, and spiritual community. Right now, God is strengthening His people. He is leading families into a season of deliverance, healing, and the rebuilding of spiritual walls around homes and marriages. "I Am Restoring All of It" I believe that, for many, attacks have come from every angle to deplete your home, shake your marriage, scatter your family, and wear you down. But the Lord is saying, "I am restoring all of it." We are still in a season of migration and divine repositioning. God is resettling families into new, fresh places—physically, spiritually, and emotionally—so they can step back into prophetic promises that were laid down or lost in past seasons. This word is for those of you who have felt the attacks on your homes increasing this year. There have been attacks on marriages and relationships, attacks on your children, attacks on your finances and provision, and attacks on your peace through sickness, spiritual heaviness, anxiety, torment, chatter, and even witchcraft. The Lord says, "I see it. I am in the midst of it. And I am countering every assignment of the enemy with healing and deliverance." God Is Bringing Divine Realignment and Order
What if this is the season where you wave goodbye to the narcissistic attacks and Jezebelic assaults on your home once and for all? (Photo via Unsplash) A "4:14 Moment" to Rise and Rebuild Just like Nehemiah, who knew the moment to rise and rebuild, we are in that moment now. Nehemiah 4:14 says, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes" (NIV). We are standing in what I believe is a "4:14 moment." It's where Esther 4:14 (the kairos moment) meets Nehemiah 4:14 (building the family) so we aren't tossed around and robbed (Ephesians 4:14) and step into our John 4:14 (fresh baptism) as families. Yes, there's a fresh baptism and outpouring coming to your household! The Plot Came to Nothing I had just finished writing this word this morning when I walked past our oven and saw the time—4:14! I took my phone out to take a photo of it and I was too late. It switched to 4:15. So, I looked up Nehemiah 4:15. "And it happened, when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their plot to nothing, that all of us returned to the wall, everyone to his work." (Nehemiah 4:15 NKJV) Wow! What was God saying? The plot came to NOTHING! That will preach! There is a shift of focus in this season. There is a weight of glory coming that requires new foundations to be built now. This is a level-up season. This is an "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" moment (Joshua 24:15). God is awakening men and women who have been spiritually asleep. He is calling watchmen to take their posts again, to guard their homes from every spiritual intruder and demonic assignment. Building Strong Foundations The Scripture declares in Psalm 127:1, "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain" (NIV). I believe many have unknowingly been building on unstable foundations. But God is saying, "I am rebuilding homes upon Me." He is shifting people out of the sinking sand of past seasons and ideologies and bringing them back into alignment with His Word and His heart. This is what God is doing right now, bringing His people back to strong foundations so they are no longer swayed by every wave or storm. There's a Scripture that speaks of safety in His presence: "No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; it shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there" (Isaiah 35:9 NKJV). This is a prophetic picture. As we begin to fortify our homes, we will come into a place where the enemy cannot devour, cannot infiltrate, cannot bite, and cannot even speak. His mouth is being shut. There Is Movement You Don't Yet See And finally, to every family that feels stuck, I want to tell you there is movement you don't yet see. God is doing more in your home than you can currently perceive. You might not feel it. You might not see it. But He is working deeply, and quietly, behind the scenes.
I hear the Lord declaring over you again from Deuteronomy 6:10–11. He is bringing you into a land, a promise, a space you did not build yourself. You will inherit homes, land, and stability you could not establish on your own. (Photo via Unsplash) "So it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant..." (Deuteronomy 6:10–11 NKJV) From Being Under Siege to Standing in Strength So I pray over you now, in the mighty name of Jesus, that where you have been the target of the enemy for many months or even years, God is reversing the assignment. You are moving from being under siege to standing in strength. God is bringing you out of the place of attack. He is shifting you from being the target to becoming the threat. You are moving from defense into offense, from being robbed to taking back what was stolen. The days of merely surviving are ending. The days of spiritual retaliation are beginning. On the other side of these attacks, families will not remain the target. They will become the builders, the reformers, and the occupiers of new Kingdom territory. You are placing the target back on the enemy's head. You are advancing. You are reclaiming. You are taking back ground. I prophesy this will be a week of turnaround—a week where what has been stolen begins to be restored, where the tide of attack begins to shift. Specifically, I declare breakthrough in finances and peace over homes. Let financial pressure break. Let supernatural provision flow. Let anxiety leave. Let the atmosphere in your home be filled with peace again. And if you've been dealing with nightmares, foreboding fear, or torment in your sleep or in your children, I break that now in the name of Jesus. It has no authority in your home. Lastly, just as I did in my dream, there is a fresh call to guard the home and pray. It's time to wake from slumber and vigilantly watch over our homes again, in Jesus' name. The following word was released on July 17, 2025: The Alarm Sounding Over Families Right Now
The Lord began to speak to me through this, because a fire alarm is designed to awaken you, warn you of danger, and call you to take immediate action. Joel 2:1 comes to mind: "Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain!" (NKJV). I heard the Lord say, "The alarm is sounding because the family is under spiritual attack, but I am awakening My people to pray." But I also sensed something deeper: The same alarm that should have been a warning also became a distraction. It pulled our attention away from prayer and into the natural. And the Lord spoke, saying, "This is exactly how the enemy is working in homes right now. He is using false alarms, constant distractions, and small fires to keep families agitated, exhausted, and prayerless." The Dream About the Lack of Intercession This reminded me of a vivid dream Christy had when we were in Redding, California for the Communion Revival in the ballpark with Lou Engle. In the dream, she sat on a bench overlooking the prayer house dedicated to Beni Johnson. Beni turned to her and said, "Where there is a lack of intercession, there is division." That phrase hit us so hard, and we knew it was a word to the Church and to families. If you lose your prayer life, you lose it all. Churches and movements should also heed this. If you stop prayer, the ship can't move. If prayer decreases, division increases. If we do not guard the atmosphere of our homes through prayer, confusion and strife will fill the vacuum. The Enemy's Current Attack on Homes For the last few weeks, I have felt the weight of this word again. Many homes are under siege. I hear the Lord saying, "The enemy has released an assignment of agitation and division over families in this hour." The attack looks like this: • Constant tension and miscommunication. Everyone seems to be on different pages. Peace feels robbed. • Restlessness and mental exhaustion. Families are tired, worn down, and unable to rest. Many feel storms swirling in their homes. • Distraction through endless demands. Families are running from one crisis to another, many of which are not even real emergencies. These are false alarms designed to keep you from prayer. • Familiar spirits pulling you into old cycles. The Lord showed me that familiar spirits are surfacing in the form of people or situations from the past trying to bait you back into old patterns, relational drama, and emotional chaos. • A heavy, chaotic atmosphere in the home. Instead of the presence of God, there is tension and unrest. Seeds of Discord Exposed The Lord spoke to me clearly: "The enemy has been sowing seeds of discord behind the scenes. He has planted whispers, suspicions, and offenses. He has planted small seeds that have now grown into weeds of agitation, restlessness, and strife." But the Lord says, "The alarm is sounding because the enemy is being found out. I am pulling the cover off his hidden work. I am exposing the seeds he has sown and every secret plot he has planted to divide families and steal peace." The Lord is uncovering every seed of discord, hidden conversations, old wounds, and subtle manipulations the enemy has used to keep families divided. And the Lord says, "What has been hidden will be revealed. The very thing the enemy meant for destruction will now be exposed by the light of My Spirit. The weeds will be uprooted, and My peace will return." It's Time for Another Level
Many have been praying as they once did, but the Lord is calling families to upgrade their intercession to match the level of warfare coming against them. (Photo via Unsplash) You need a new level of focus, a new level of persistence, a new level of agreement as a family. Gather together again. Pray together again. Chase out the foxes that have been spoiling the vineyard (Song of Songs 2:15). These "foxes" of small offenses, small distractions, and subtle compromises have been allowed to creep in. Now is the time to drive them out with prayer. I sense a corporate call to families in this hour: Pray together, worship together, and guard the altar of prayer in your home. The enemy fears praying families, because a praying family is a fortified wall. The Lord is saying, "If you will rise to this new level of prayer, what has been agitating you will flee. What has been hidden will be exposed. And what has been lost will be restored." Don't Forfeit What You Are Called to Wield I feel like there are people reading this who have actually laid down their fight. You've laid down your fire. You've allowed things to come into your home. You've allowed an orphan spirit, past wounds, and old issues to get in between your marriage and between you and your kids. You've allowed the spirit of failure, past rejection, and lack to preach to you about your finances, your livelihood, your destiny, and your purpose. You've forfeited your voice. There are windows and doors you've left open that the Lord wants you to shut this week. Yes, He wants you to SLAM them shut. What if the smoke alarm going off in your life isn't just about prayer? What if it's not only about exposing distractions but also about exposing where you've forgotten to change the batteries? You haven't been recharging. You haven't been in the secret place. You haven't been doing what you're called to do. You've been lying down and sleeping when you're called to fight and wield your sword. I was sharing with our prayer group this morning about how, in The Hobbit, Bilbo's sword glows blue when enemies are near. I thought about that today and laughed, because I feel like this is a season where our swords are glowing blue. There are threats and distractions on every side. But what are we doing about it? Are we being passive? Are we lying down? Or are we picking up our call to pray? This is a word for you today. Feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Repent for the areas where you've allowed passivity to creep in. Break off every distraction and every tie pulling at you, and get back to the feet of Jesus. Prayer to Break the Spirit of Agitation in Your Home Pray this out loud over your home, your marriage, and your family. Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that You are sounding the alarm over my home, not to bring fear but to awaken me to pray. Right now, I take authority over every spirit of agitation, restlessness, and distraction in my house. I declare that every seed of discord sown by the enemy is being exposed and uprooted now. Every false alarm, every manipulation, every whisper of confusion is silenced in Jesus' name. The following word was released on July 19, 2025: Families, You Are Getting Your Pearls Back I want to share a revelation and a very simple charge. If we catch it in this hour, we're going to see such a turnaround of so much of the warfare and assignments of the enemy that have been coming against our families for a long time.
Now, when we normally hear that phrase we think of when we've shared too much, or when we've given away our dreams or the things that are valuable to us. However, in this context, the Lord was saying to me that I'd cast my pearls, meaning that I had not been protecting what was most valuable to me. What has this got to do with the family? What if the family is those pearls? What if our marriage, our kids, and everything within that responsibility circle of our first ministry are our pearls—our relationship with God, our marriages, and our kids? Had I been casting them? Have we been casting them—meaning have we been putting them at a lower or lesser level of importance than everything else in our lives? Have we been putting ministry higher up on the rung of life? Have we been putting church higher up on the rung? Have we been putting our work or commitments higher up? Have we been placing other things that are lesser, which don't carry any weight or legacy, in a higher place than our families? Prioritizing Your Pearls I believe that the Lord is saying to us, "It's time to get back your pearls." But in order to do that, we need to change our value system... Many are realizing what's been at stake and are leaving behind all facades and counterfeits, and beginning to rebuild their families again. Many who are reading this are looking at ruins, and if that's you, I am sorry... But God can and will restore you. I'm reminded of this parable where Jesus spoke about pearls: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it." (Matthew 13:44–46 NIV) May we enter back into a heart posture where we sell everything for family again. I know some of you have sold your pearls in the past to appease a Jezebel spirit in your families. You've sold them for acceptance or out of pain and rejection. Some of you have run from your posts because you have felt disqualified. For MANY of you, shame has kept you from holding onto pearls and guarding them like you should. But today the Lord is calling you out of those lies and putting a new fiery decree of "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15 NKJV)! I believe the Lord is saying to us right now that if we prioritize those pearls again, if we prioritize the secret place in prayer, if we prioritize our marriages and our children and put them first, if we seek first the Kingdom of God, all those things shall be added (Matthew 6:33). The war has been on your home because family isn't just revival, it's outpouring; it's reformation. Any time we leave family on the back burner, the enemy will create a toxic ideology and counterfeit to fill that space. And right now God is not just doing a powerful work of restoration for your legacy, but for the legacy of many others and the future generations. I believe the Lord is saying to you today, "I know you've lost much. I know that you're looking right now, and there are many Ishmaels you've created. There's a lot of regret you're carrying, a lot of grief and a lot of pain from failure, but I'm about to restore those pearls to you. I'm about to bring all those shattered and broken pieces of your life back together. I'll bring the prodigals home. I'll restore your marriage. I'll restore your finances. I'll restore everything that the locusts have eaten." I decree this and prophesy this over you, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Where the enemy wants to expose and destroy, God is revealing to restore. He is allowing things to surface, not to shame or scatter you but to bring divine order and realignment to your family. The enemy has overplayed his hand, but God is using it to expose hidden contaminants and robbers, and He is breaking strongholds that have long held families captive.
He is establishing you, He is recalibrating you, and He is bringing you out of a dark night season that has warred against your house. He is restoring your finances, your clarity, and your authority.
About three months ago, we started weekly prayer meetings in our home. We felt a clear leading from the Lord to build an altar of prayer in our house, not just in our personal devotional lives but as a family. Within five minutes of praying, our smoke alarm suddenly went off. It disrupted the entire meeting as I scrambled to find batteries and reinstall them before the sound stopped. I also heard the Lord say, "It is time to go to another level. The spiritual landscape has shifted, and you cannot fight today's battles with yesterday's prayer life."
I remember a season when I was really asking the Lord why we were experiencing warfare against our kids, enduring sickness, and experiencing chaos in our home, in our marriage, and in our finances. And the Lord said one simple phrase: "You have been casting your pearls." (Photo via StockCake)
