Crystal Wade: Going Straight Through the Dire Straits!

Let's get ready to go STRAIGHT through the "Dire Straits"! The way our heavenly Father designed life on earth to work and the way it plays out in real time often run on parallel tracks. Our response can derail or clear and align the tracks for His good plans. Father offered a window in time for Israel to choose to honor Him and to enter their generational promise. On the 17th of Tammuz (this year, July 13th, 2025), Moses heard the sound of Israel's idolatry as they worshiped the golden calf. He came down the mountain and smashed the tablets (Ten Commandments) written by the finger of God. On the 9th of Av (this year, August 3rd, 2025), after the corporate agreement with the report from the ten spies that the giants were too big and they would be devoured, Israel rejected the time to enter the Promised Land. Father told them that their particular generation would not receive the promise given to their previous generations. That promise of entering the land was connected to the REST of the Lord (Psalm 95:8–11)! As we think about the state of our own spiritual land of inheritance and the state of our nations, that's really what we desire. We desire that our land, together with us and our families, would have rest, as Father is God and King over our land. [The term "Dire Straits" originated after the destruction of the first and second temples in Jerusalem, which also happened on the 17th of Tammuz and the 9th of Av, and is a time of mourning to commemorate these events.] This three-week period of time, now referred to as the "Dire Straits," has been a period of great difficulty throughout the millennia. Never was this Father's design or plan, but it was the effect of the response of Israel. Throughout the generations, it's also been the response from the Body of Christ and the way people's sin has impacted the earth.
Here's the deal. This is a time Father designed to be glorious and full of celebration, but it has been instead a time of trouble, travail, difficulty, and distortion, where things can seem worse than they are. How Do We Approach the Dire Straits? Father impressed me with a way to approach the Dire Straits. This is a time to watch and pray but also to be ready to take action as the Lord leads. Here is a key prayer point: Father, I say "yes" to the fullness and wholeness of Your plans, purposes, desires, and intentions on earth as it is in Heaven, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen! Below are steps we can take as we approach the Dire Straights: 1. Keep your peace. Do what you have to do to stay in peace: • Don't overbook yourself Father's way is the government of peace, and that is where He will speak. We have to know His direction in order to be secure and victorious, which is why it's so important to stay in peace. Don't go on autopilot; be mindful. Be aware that idolatry (falling back to their own ways of dependence and slavery in Egypt, as represented by the golden calf) is what caused the first breach in time. Everything we love that's not brought to Father for cleansing has an element of idolatry. Be mindful and pray/repent as impressed by Holy Spirit. Pray protection over your family and sphere. This needs to be done daily all year, but this is an important reminder. Psalm 46 is a great Psalm for this time in terms of orientation. When you focus on Father's and Heaven's view, then it puts the earth's uproar into the right perspective.
This builds your faith and the faith of others. Remember that lack of faith, coupled with unbelief, is what caused Israel to believe the bad report of the ten spies. There will be some point (or points) in this three-week-time period where there will be opportunity to move the ball forward. Usually, this is a "holding pattern" time because of that "breach in time." However, the Lord has been preparing His people for massive change, which could begin to emerge in this time. It may not seem big, but there will be a way that you can choose to honor Father and move forward in faith in these three weeks. This can be as simple but powerful as speaking until you believe it, "'JOY TO THE WORLD, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King!' As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord. We choose You, Father, and we enter Your promise to our generations through our Lord Jesus Christ. We enter Your rest." (Song lyrics from "Joy to the World," by Isaac Watts) Prepare as You Enter with Joy Into His Rest In conclusion, Father designed this three-week season to be one filled with His glory and celebration for entering the generational promise. He intended for His people to enter their generational promise and for them and their land to have rest, as He was honored as God and King over them. Instead, it has been historically difficult for Israel and the Body of Christ. This year, the time frame for the Dire Straits is July 13th, 2025 through August 3rd, 2025. During this time, I encourage you to do the following: 1. Make His peace your priority. 2. Be mindful and watchful instead of switching gears to autopilot. 3. Prepare your testimony from a situation or season in your life and share it in some way. 4. Prepare yourself to take the forward step(s) He is offering in this time. The rabbis teach that when Messiah comes, the sorrow and mourning of the 9th of Av will be turned to joy. Messiah—the Lord Jesus Christ—has come! Father offers us a new opportunity each day for redemption. In this particular season, as we come rightfully prepped and focused, we are preparing the way for Him to come. He comes first in us as individuals. Let us be as the wise virgins and take the time to get oil for our own lamps. Important Note: The most important prep you can do is to nurture, build, and stay in peace. That's where Father speaks and imparts direction. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit and it comes through having a relationship with the Lord.

Your testimony has the Spirit of the Lord upon it. Your testimony does not have to be THE story of your life; it can be a "snapshot" of how Father intervened for you in a season or a situation! Make it simple. Write out, journal, think about, and then speak or share it in some way—a testimony from a season or situation in your life of where Father intervened! Don't make this hard.
