The Holy Spirit is asking a question right now: "Where are the giant slayers for this generation?" This question is rumbling around on the inside of me—about myself and about you. Today's article will fill you with faith and cause you to rise up in a spirit like Caleb that believes that your enemies will become like grasshoppers in your own sight!  "Giant Slayers Arise!"
In Numbers 14:24, the NASB version states, "But as for My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring him into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of it." We desperately need the word of the Lord in this hour. There is such an atmosphere of fear and intimidation in our culture, and so many negative reports. Scripture mentions in the book of Numbers that a bad report was even coming from the "children of the Lord" (see Numbers 13:32). I think if we are truthful, in the last few years many of us have, at times, come into alignment with a bad report. But could there be a few who are arising who have a different spirit—ones who are forerunners, who qualify to go before and prepare a path? These trailblazers have, as it says in Numbers 14:24, "a different spirit" in them, for they have followed the Lord fully and will take possession of the land. I am asking God for a supernatural impartation of courage, and that He would mark a generation of people to be giant slayers, in Jesus' name. Caleb Had a Different Spirit Caleb was one who had a different spirit. He followed the Lord fully. The result was that those who followed him entered the land to inherit it and possess it (the promise) fully. Now, to possess the promise fully, Caleb and his troops had to displace the giants who were in the land. Let's backtrack to Numbers 13:32-33. This is history: "And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, 'The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.'" They were giants. It was a land that devoured its inhabitants, and all the people they saw in it were men of great size. So far, all they had said was true. But then we hear the bad report: "...we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."
That is why Caleb had a different spirit. Twelve spies were sent out, and ten came back with a bad or evil report that they were like grasshoppers. But two spies (Caleb in particular, and Joshua) had a different spirit and fully obeyed God. And God gave a reward that Caleb inherited—the promises that his offspring would possesses. That means they became giant slayers. They dispossessed the enemies in the land. My Powerful Dream of Giants Several years ago, before I was diagnosed for the first time with cancer, I had a dream. In the dream, I was lying on the floor. I saw giants who were formidable in my sight, and they seemed to be emanating a force of fear and destruction that was overwhelming. These giant soldiers were formidable and extremely strong men. Suddenly, the scenery changed. I stood up, and lo and behold, I was taller than they were. My perspective changed and I was now looking down on them. Instead of being on the same plane as they were in my sight, when they appeared as giants, I was now looking down upon what was once a formidable giant army. And now they were nothing more than little stick soldiers. The only thing that had shifted in the dream was my perspective. Then the voice of the Lord came to me in the dream and said, "Your enemies will become like grasshoppers in your own sight." Not long after this dream, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer. I was tempted to cave in, but the Lord had given me a dream. I had Scripture, I had praying people, and I had a dream. If I was to live life on a parallel plane, these enemies would seem like giants breathing down upon me. But in the dream, I rose above living life on their plane. And when I stood up, everything changed. I looked down on my circumstance and my enemy and heard the word of the Lord: "Your enemies will become like grasshoppers in your own sight." Now I had to do something. I had to flip the narrative I had just received and change my perspective—because my God is a God of Good News. And guess what? My enemies shall become like grasshoppers in my own sight—and so shall yours! The Marvel of the Ages In chapter 11 of my book, Revival Breakthrough, I quote some powerful prophetic words from various prophetic voices, including this word from Rick Joyner.
God will pour out the great harvest as we humble ourselves before Him and align our will with His. Outrageous! Rick Joyner titled this, "The Marvel of the Ages." I believe it. Why not believe something outrageous? Why not believe for giant slayers to arise? Why not believe that your enemies will become like grasshoppers in your own sight? Some of you right now are being stirred to be outrageously courageous. Closing Prayer for Dread Champions Let's pray: Almighty God, we magnify Your great name. You alone are worthy. We want the Lamb of God to receive the rewards of His suffering. We want to see the great end-time harvest to come in for Jesus Christ's sake. We want to see the Body of Christ walking in purity and in power. We declare Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on Earth as it is being done in Heaven. And we call forth the dread champions—the Moseses, the Joshuas and the Calebs, and we call forth the Aarons and the Hurs. We call forth three generations to walk together in a generation. We speak forth: Let the giant slayers arise for such a time as this. We speak that our enemies will become as grasshoppers in our own site. And soon our enemies shall become a footstool for the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ [see Romans 16:20 and Psalm 110:1]. Amen and amen! Calling Forth the Giant Slayers!
