From the desk of Steve Shultz:
This is a great message from Paulette Reed about our Heavenly DNA and how we are made into the image of Christ. Yes, as born-again Believers we have our Father's DNA—it's our inheritance!
I like what Paulette shares here: "As the DNA of our Heavenly Father is replicated, there is a beautiful Church "who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, (and) are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" (2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV)."
Yes, we do reflect His glory. When we are hidden in Him, we have no choice but to reflect Him!
Here are a couple of great resources to go along with this word:
"Our Heavenly Father's DNA is Our Inheritance"
Early in October 2009, we were hosting our monthly Extreme Women's meeting. Toward the end of the gathering we shared some prophetic words and had a celebration of the goodness of our Extreme King of Kings!
As you can see in this photo below, it's as if strands of DNA appeared during this joyous occasion. On different cameras and numerous pictures, it looked like a supernatural phenomenon of DNA was appearing in mid-air.
For the sake of review, DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid: an extremely long macromolecule that is the main component of chromosomes and is the material that transfers genetic characteristics in all life forms, constructed of two nucleotide strands coiled around each other in a ladder-like arrangement with the sidepieces. It carries the genetic information in the cell and is capable of self-replication.
Earlier that same evening I had shared how the Church is living out God's prophetic blueprint found in Daniel, Chapter 12, as knowledge is increasing in the end times. I believe we received immediate confirmation, because in layman's terms DNA is the blueprint of inherited genetic molecular material creating our unique identities (in Christ).
Since the night of our meeting, Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about the divine nature of God and the inheritance of His children. Having seen the sign that made us wonder, I've been asking the Lord if we've been in an identity crisis.
Was it Really God?
Before I go on, may I say we sometimes need to be careful not to become so concerned about something not being from the Lord that we miss what is. I believe people can actually become overly cautious and spend too much time testing God's manifestations over and over, causing them to miss truth because doubt snuck in. We must remember, Beloved, that God is our defender and protector and He covers His children with love and grace. After all, Psalm 24:1 clearly states the earth is the Lord's, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it. So, let's keep in mind it's the world that tries to steal supernatural phenomena from the Church, not vice versa. Unfortunately, the false results the world sometimes receives are from a dark source rather than from a Holy God.
At this time, we are indeed seeing Holy Spirit teach us about God's DNA. The Lord is showing Himself mighty with supernatural manifestations, so let's rejoice and be glad, as these signs point to Jesus! It seems difficult, if not impossible, to understand controversy in regard to the DNA of God. As born-again, spirit-filled Believers, if our DNA is not from our Heavenly Father, where would it be from—random molecules from a big bang?
Created in His Image
Our Heavenly Father is so loving He's allowing us to see how we are surrounded by His life-giving power! He's trying to bring us back to the basics of Christianity, reminding us that in the very beginning He said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth"
As God prepares us for a great awakening, He wants His power to be manifest on earth as it is in Heaven. That power will be a part of a great harvest and will be reaped through His sons and daughters who pursue the image of Christ. The Lord wants multitudes ushered into the Kingdom, as Jesus is not willing that any should perish. What better way to bring God glory than to embrace His impartation (rendered in the Greek as "giving over or sharing") of His DNA, allowing it to replicate. After all, "Do we not all have one Father? Has not one God created us?"
We're hearing a lot about the Church crossing over into our promised land, and it's important we stay alert so we don't miss our Kairos moments. A good illustration of this occurred on our way to the event mentioned earlier.
While driving to the meeting with friends/intercessors, we were praying as well as laughing and enjoying the presence of the Lord. When we stopped at an intersection just before hopping on a freeway, a Swift semitrailer roared across in front of us. Here we were, sitting at a crossroads praying and worshiping with grateful hearts—a great position to be in to be enlightened by a prophetic moment.
As we immediately inquired of the Lord, "What just happened there?" He revealed how important choices are in crossing over. We must use wisdom, paying attention to God's timing, and prepare to cross over when the way is clear, as we go from not enough to just enough to more than enough. The speeding semitrailer represented one of our ministries' angels, Swift. The Lord prompted us to ask ourselves if we are prepared to move swiftly in this hour as He hastens His will (Isaiah 60:22). For surely, we do not want to get run over by giants or wait too long at stop signs. The Lord is offering us a freeway, as mountains are brought low and valleys made high during times of shaking.
However, if we don't understand our identity in Christ and stand secure in our positions in the Kingdom, how can we live out our Godly inheritance? How can we cross over to a promised land? In other words, "If we believe we're grasshoppers, we'll act like grasshoppers." But, if we believe we are created in the image of Christ and live out the Godly inheritance transferred to us through our Heavenly Father's DNA, then "we should by all means go up and take possession of (the land), for we will surely overcome it" (Numbers 13:30).
One phrase I keep hearing from Holy Spirit is "royalty authority." This has to do with the Lord's divine nature.
Second Peter 1:4 says, "And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires" (NLT).
When we are born from above, we receive life from above. In an instant we receive Heavenly DNA in the form of Holy Spirit. He gives us power from on high, knowing we are going to need it, as we are created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). Friends, we are created to advance the Kingdom of God! As we seek to know Holy Spirit and our hearts beat as one, we understand He is the spiritual DNA link to the Godhead. He is the Helper, with us forever!
How wonderful to have two sets of DNA. One set from our earthly parents and one from our Heavenly Father. And, the Lord has a perfect plan as the divine nature replicates; it grows as we mature to full stature. At least it should. Heavenly DNA makes us extremely different from the world, as we are royal priests and kings (Revelation 5:10). It makes us ambassadors for Jesus Christ. This should be evidenced by a Christlike life as we raise the bar and reach up for His image rather than attempting to pull His standards down to a comfortable level.
When we are born again we are connected eternally to our Heavenly Father, so we are "convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39). How wonderful to realize that a genetic link cannot be broken. DNA cannot be removed or dramatically altered because of the complexity in which God created it.
As the DNA of our Heavenly Father is replicated, there is a beautiful Church "who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, (and) are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit" (2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV).
As partakers of the divine nature, we partake in Christ. We participate as children of God as we are conformed to Christlikeness. The Spirit of God is in us, leading, shaping, filling and motivating us to be about our Father's business. Alleluia! God has given us the power to live for Him victoriously and with excellence!
Of course, along with that power comes responsibility and application. Most all of us realize we aren't usually great at something from the start. Just like learning to ride a bike or drive a car, it takes time to master those earthly tasks, and it can take time to master Heavenly tasks. We have to work out our faith and live what we've learned.
The price for preparation and practice is never too high—Christ already paid it all. Jesus promises that "he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father" (John 14:12). So, dear friends, when we have the Father's DNA, we also have His endorsement as well as the Son's authority.
Oh dear friends, there is a Bride preparing herself, and she will be given the finest of pure white linen to wear, which represents the good deeds of God's holy people. We might ask ourselves if we're secure in that identity in Christ Jesus and are we willing to stand, holding our positions until He says, "Go! It's time to suddenly, swiftly, cross over."
