From the desk of Steve Shultz:
I believe in all of these guys (Denny Cline, Ivan Roman, Ryan Wyatt and Bobby Conner) and their ministry so strongly because they are all friends of mine, and I have ministered alongside with each of them. They are the real deal?they are part of the "Go Generation" which makes them part of this "God GENERATION" we find ourselves in.
When you're done reading this word, please peruse these three upcoming conferences with Ivan Roman, Denny Cline and others. I don't want you to miss these upcoming events, including the new school about to start called "TRAINING FOR REIGNING."
This next school starts only days from now (September 21, 2009) and we often get last minute people from all over the world. Don't miss out! These are all here in Albany, Oregon, close to the ElijahList, but the venue is the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church. If you are thinking of attending click here for more info. Also here is an endorsement and recommendation by Tawny Shultz who previously attended the school:
I attended Training for Reigning in 2006. I highly recommend this school to others. You will learn more than you can imagine?and in an amazingly short period of time! You will be encouraged and lifted in awe of God at the many personal God encounter testimonies from the lives of both your instructors and fellow classmates; and you will be inspired, equipped, and provided with hands-on opportunities and experiences to gather more of your own personal testimonies in the Kingdom of God. Plus, you will make life-long friends in the process!
Be inspired!?Tawny Shultz

Ivan Roman with Denny Cline:
"Go Generation!"
Intro by Denny Cline (Senior Leader of Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Albany and Founder of Elisha Rising and head of Training for Reigning School):
There comes a time in every epic season when leadership should be at its finest and another younger group of leaders step up to take hold of the baton. A relay race is not a perfect analogy since it is all planned out and perfectly timed to happen at a specific point in the race. Our transitions are not so seamless or defined.
But clearly we are in a transition that needs intentional partnership to see the next generation of leaders successfully run the race as other leaders finish theirs. I love the heart of new leaders like Ivan Roman who are not only passionate, but hungry for wisdom and understanding of how to lead in a way that is not just successful, but a way that pleases God and builds family and community. This article reflects such heart.
Elisha Rising is meant to be a bridge to bring seasoned leaders together with emerging leaders to see this transition take the Body of Christ to new levels of influence and impact. You can find out more, how to get involved, and attend a kick-off event on October 8-10, 2009 at Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Albany. I, along with Ivan Roman, Bobby Conner, and Ryan Wyatt will be speakers at this event. For more information you can visit our new website www.elisharising.org.

We have entered into a new season in the Church. I believe that this time could be either one of the greatest opportunities the Church has yet seen, or could be one of its most crippling defeats. We can't do things the way we have been or our young people will be the first generation of Americans to grow up in a post-Christian nation.
I have seen the Scripture play out in my spirit over and over again where the Lord told Gideon to choose his army. If you remember the story, you'll know the men who got down on their hands and knees to drink were disqualified, but those who got down on one knee, cupped their hands and brought the water to their lips were chosen. This speaks to me of being alert and sober. We will only win if we continue to drink deeply of the Holy Spirit.
We need to continually be filled with the Spirit as the Scripture admonishes us. I also believe that war, both spiritually and naturally, is closer to our borders then we realize. God is raising up generals who will gather these dread champions, train them and commission them to bring the message and works of the Kingdom to their city, nation and the world.
An Army of Young People
I saw a vision in which I watched an army of young people fighting in a battle. They would run to Jesus and He would hand them bread and wine before sending them back out to fight. There have been many prophetic words over this generation that are true, but like my Pastor Denny Cline says, "It's time to put apostolic feet to prophetic hope."
The prophetic always precedes a move of God. John the Baptist was a prophet who prepared the way for the coming of the Lord. This prophetic generation will not be just one man or woman of God with a mighty anointing that will bring revival but a generation of forerunners. We have yet to see this happen, but it has been God's desire from the beginning. It was God's desire in Exodus 19 to consecrate and dwell with all His people, not just Moses. I Peter 2:9 states, "...you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God..." Psalm 24 says there will be an entire generation that will seek the face of the God of Jacob.
John the Baptist didn't look, dress, speak or act like the religious leaders of his day. And neither will the reformers God is raising up. The Church is the hope of the nation right now. The Church is the family of God where we grow in our understanding of the Father's heart and a place of belonging, a hospital where the sick get healed emotionally and physically, a school where people are taught the Word. All of these metaphors for Church are true and will continue, but the fire that burns in the heart of these forerunners lies outside of the comfort of the four walls of the Church.
The emphasis of the Holy Spirit right now is the Church as a training center. This will only happen as we get back to the message of the Kingdom of God. John the Baptist and Jesus both preached the Gospel of the Kingdom, and in Matthew 6 Jesus taught us to pray that His Kingdom would come on Earth as it is in Heaven. In the Kingdom, salvation is the entry point to a journey of walking and sharing in the ministry of Jesus.
Jesus gathered, trained and then released His disciples into the marketplace to change the culture. The Gospel that many of us were raised hearing is what I call the Gospel of salvation. The fruit of this message is that the Church sits by, waiting for the trumpet to blow and to be rescued from the darkness of this present age. The Gospel of the Kingdom Jesus preached says Go into all the world and make disciples of nations (see Matthew 28:19).
God is Restoring and Encouraging Godly Relationships
This word is for those whom God has given charge over the emerging leadership of the Church. God is definitely moving upon a generation of youth and young adults. There is a cry in their hearts to be a part of the ministry of Jesus and to live as genuine Disciples of Christ. I can hear the longing in the hearts of the emerging generation to be a part of something great, something that transforms cultures. We may see character flaws and areas of deficiencies in the emerging generation, but that is where mentoring comes in. We must join with the generation if we are going to have long lasting fruit.
In the last days the Spirit of Elijah will turn the hearts of the Fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers (see Malachi 4:6). God is restoring and encouraging Godly relationships, because true Biblical impartation comes through relationship. The examples we have in Scripture such as Paul and Timothy, Elijah and Elisha, Jesus and His disciples?they all walked together. This generation will be a double-portion generation, because we won't have to reinvent the wheel?learning not only through lecture but also through practical, hands-on training.
The Harvesters Must Be Released
The Bible says without vision people perish. The youth of this nation need vision. This comes from Father God, but should also come from their natural/spiritual fathers and mothers. Inexperienced soldiers are not sent out to fight because without proper training they cannot win. Generals instead give marching orders only to soldiers who have completed their training. There came a time in the ministry of Jesus when He sent His disciples out. It's time to start sending.
I can recall experiencing more of God's love while ministering to the broken, the poor, the orphans than in any church meeting I have ever been a part of. By watering others, I was watered also. There is another "Jesus People" on the horizon, bringing not just renewal for the Church but bringing in a great harvest of souls. We are in a season of preparation: the harvesters must be released. God's generals must be bold and begin to blow the trumpet, a clear sound. It is when we start mobilizing our people that we will see greater unity in the Church.
There are many examples that I could use, but one example would be our armed forces. My older brother was a marine and heard fellow marines mocking the other armed forces. I'm told this rivalry is common among our military branches. But in times of war we watch as they work together in unity to combat and overcome the enemy. When we have a cause before us, we can lay down doctrinal disputes and fight together as one.
Isaiah 9:6-7 says "the government (of God) will be upon His shoulder" and "of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end." Matthew 11:12 says, "The Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, the violent take it by force."
The Kingdom is advancing. We must continue to push forward in these times of uncertainty. We cannot sit and wait until we reach glory. We are alive for such a time as this, and if we perish we perish, but we must advance the Kingdom by joining the generations and taking risks for the Gospel.
