A war of powers and principalities is raging over Israel, heralded by a battle of sounds. Enemies surround the Holy Land and rattle their swords daily, proclaiming Israel’s imminent destruction. Strident Muslim prayers ring out five times a day from minarets throughout the Land fostering an atmosphere of discord.
The spirits of many Israelis—especially young people—are plagued by uncertainty, anxiety and confusion. Israel needs to be equipped for this battle of sounds just as in Biblical times. Even more than guns and ammunition, Israel needs to bring forth new songs for the Lord!

We Began in the Hills of Samaria
Harps for Israel was birthed in 2007 when co-founders Tom and Elizabeth Miller played the harp at sunrise in Samaria while Muslim prayers wafted up from a nearby valley. We recognized then that a battle of worship sounds was afoot, and no one seemed to answer from the village where we were staying. We sensed God calling us to action.
In 2008, we returned to Israel to intercede and pass out harps. Traveling the length of the Land prayerfully, the Lord led us to the first two recipients: one, an Orthodox teenager living in the endangered Jewish settlement in Samaria where we first caught this vision, the other a Messianic teen living in the Galilee. They now sing new songs to the Lord with the harp and their music is already touching others!
Our next harp distribution trip is scheduled for September this year. We hope to give out at least ten harps. Please act now so that we can order the harps for delivery in time for our trip.

The Unique Spiritual Sound of the Harp
The harp was used throughout the Bible for warfare, prophecy and healing. Elisha prophesied with the harp (2 Kings 3:15). King David and the commanders of the army appointed Levites to the ministry of prophesying accompanied by harps (1 Chron 25:1). David impacted the whole world with his harp and psalms.
According to the Talmud, there were once so many harps playing at the temple in Jerusalem their sound could be heard all the way to Jericho—17 miles away! Some rabbis teach that God Himself “sang the creation” accompanied by a harp.
