Ella Onakoya: "I Heard in My Spirit: 'At the Roar of the Lion, the Enemy Flees'"

Our friend Ella Onakoya has amazing visions and encounters with the Lord. We so appreciate her insight that we can glean from for the Body of Christ.

Ella went on our Elijah List Ministries cruise several years back, and everywhere she went on the ship or on land, she was "evangelizing." Yes, she was born to be an evangelist, and her face is set like flint as she boldly moves with the Lord.

We can't imagine what her reward in Heaven will be like...but we know it's grand!

In a recent encounter, Ella gives us this insight and word:

I believe the message of my vision to the Church is this: Be bold, for the Lion of Judah is within you! The Lord wants to release you from the fear and torment of the evil one as He opens your eyes to the majestic authority of the Lion of Judah who walks with you. I also felt the significance of this vision was to encourage the Church that the roar of the Lion lies within us. We were not made to squeak like a mouse but to release the roar of the Lion of Judah within. I heard in my spirit, "At the roar of the Lion, the enemy flees."

One of the names of Jesus in the Scriptures is the Lion of Judah. I believe each of the names of Jesus carries a revelation that the Body of Christ is meant to enter into in order to experience freedom or breakthrough. After all, Proverbs 18:10 says, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."

Over the years, I have had visions and a dream concerning Jesus as the Lion of Judah. I believe they each had a significant meaning for specific times and seasons.

Jesus as the Bold and Pure Lion of Judah

At about the end of 2008, just before I started my ministry in early 2009, I had a vivid encounter with the Lion of Judah. At that time, my lifestyle was marked by deep prayers and meditations on Jesus. On one of those nights, between asleep and awake, I entered into a trance. In this trance, as I remember it, I saw in a vivid physical form beside me – a huge Lion – silver in color. This huge, majestic Lion emanated grandeur and majesty. By revelation, I knew this was Jesus appearing as the Lion of Judah.

I woke up, filled with wonder at what I had seen. From that trance-like vision, a revelation of the authority of Jesus was imparted to me. This was timely, as I was about to start my ministry. The Lord came to me in the form of the Lion of Judah to open my eyes to see His immense authority and power, which was available to protect me wherever He should send me; for indeed, since then, I have ministered in places considered to be either dangerous or "hard ground."

This vision, and subsequent revelation, has stayed with me, even now – that Jesus is the ever-present Lion of Judah who is with me to protect me, as He declares to me that no one can take me out of His hands (see John 10:28). I've sensed that He has often walked with me to not only deliver me from the enemy, but to deliver the souls of men from the devil as I minister to them.

I also sensed, in the vision, that He came to me in that silver-colored form as a sign of purity, which was going to be and is the benchmark of my ministry (silver is often known as the color for purity). I was to be pure as He is pure.

I believe the message of my vision to the Church is this: Be bold, for the Lion of Judah is within you! The Lord wants to release you from the fear and torment of the evil one as He opens your eyes to the majestic authority of the Lion of Judah who walks with you. I also felt the significance of this vision was to encourage the Church that the roar of the Lion lies within us. The Lion of Judah – Our Lord of Breakthrough

One day while I was in prayer, during that season, I saw a vision of huge, majestic Lion appearing from a heavenly realm of light that looked like the blinding sun. I knew this was our Lord Jesus appearing in the splendor of His power and majesty on behalf of His people and the nations.

The Lord later gave me the Scripture in Isaiah 64:1 that speaks of the Lord rending the heavens to come down. The vision I saw of the Lion was Jesus appearing as the Lord of breakthrough for those who had been stirring themselves to take hold of Him.

During a time of great trouble and confusion for many, the Lord gave me this vision to bring encouragement and open the eyes of the Church to Jesus as the Lion of Judah, who was (and still is) bringing much needed breakthrough for the Church and nations – especially for those who had been crying out to Him during that time. I believe the vision also showed that at the time of His return – at the end of time – our Lord will be returning as the Lion of Judah!

The Key to Rising in His Presence

Worship will be the key to the Lion of Judah raising us in His presence.

On January 1, 2021, I had a dream where I was at a church service. During the meeting, several musicians came forward to sing. They seemed to entertain the crowd as they sang, with many showing their appreciation.

Suddenly, while this was going on, a man came out of a room. He sat behind a piano and began to sing a song of the Spirit. It was clear that he was not like the others who entertained with their musical skills. He was not there to entertain but to lead us into the secret place of God. He connected to the Holy Spirit and began to sing a song, given by the Spirit, about the Lion of Judah coming to lift us up in God's presence.

As he sang, immediately I was lifted up in the spirit, and I felt what I believed to be angelic hands lifting me up in God's presence. I began to soar higher in the heavenly realms, sensing I was being lifted up to have a face-to-face encounter with God.

I woke up with an important message for the Church: This is a season to abide in the secret place of God. As we live in this realm, new songs will be given that will cause Jesus, the Lion of Judah, to lift a people of worship into a place of breakthrough.

The Golden Lion of Judah...With a Key in His Mouth

Around mid 2021, while in prayer, I saw a vision of Jesus appearing as a golden Lion with a key in His mouth. I sensed that there had been a shift in His message, given His appearance. In my previous encounters with the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, His appearance (how He presented Himself to me) had been connected to His message at that time – that He had come to protect and deliver the Church and the nations from evil. In this vision, He was releasing a reminder to the Church that a key had been given to us for walking in authority and to release His Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.

There were several important keys in this mandate:

I heard these words: "In the mouth of the king, there is power" (see Ecclesiastes 8:4). Key strategies to gaining victory in this season are through faith-filled decrees and declarative prayers. We are also to be watchful of what we say with our mouths, as life and death lie in the power of the tongue (see Proverbs 18:21).

2. This vision is meant to encourage us in the authority we have to align our words with Heaven, so we can receive the freedom we need in our lives.

3. We have been given the keys to bind and to loose (see Matthew 18:18). We are being commissioned to bind what is not of God on this earth, and to loose and release what is of God from Heaven to the earth realm.

Filled with this revelation, throughout the pandemic and especially last year, I have led several prayer mandates, and a prayer school, where I released instructions to bind and pull down specific strongholds, such as ungodly vaccine mandates, the COVID virus, and other strongholds of the enemy. The Lord answered my prayers and the prayers of others as vaccine mandates in the UK and in various other nations were stopped.

4. I believe this to be a season of open doors, as the Lion of Judah is releasing keys to open doors for the release of treasures, for the harvest of souls, and for the revelation to understand mysteries.

5. The key has been placed on our shoulders (see Isaiah 22:22). This is the key which will shut doors that no man can open and open doors that no man can close. Specifically, I am hearing this: Keys of authority are being released to stop evil from gaining traction on the earth.

Beloved, be encouraged by this message through my encounters with Jesus as the Lion of Judah. He is with us to protect and release breakthrough to us. May we also be encouraged to use the keys He has given us to release His Kingdom on Earth as is in Heaven.
