"This Ain't No Dog and Pony Show!"
In prayer recently, I saw the Lord look down on His house and heard Him say: "This ain't no dog and pony show!" The term "dog and pony show" first appeared in the United States in the 1880s, referring to small, traveling circuses that largely consisted of acts involving trained dogs and ponies geared toward monetary gain.
My first thought was that certainly there are many self-proclaiming Christians with their hands over their eyes, ears and mouth, choosing to ignore the wickedness and corruption around us with a "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" (or should I say "speak out against no evil") stance in the Church today.
God is not pleased by a churches that have become a smoke show for entertainment, run by leadership that is more moved by the opinions of 'big tithers' and lukewarm elders who are afraid to offend anyone but the Holy Spirit. A seeker-sensitive church growth model has compromised the transforming power of the Gospel in may congregations, making us ineffective against the spirit of the age we are living in.
Now, am I saying that all churches that use light shows and fog machines are lukewarm? No, I am not. I am all about creating atmospheres that inspire awe and wonder, but when the 'show' is more geared toward pleasing people, or paying our leaders for a glorified self-help message rather than the real, raw Gospel and the manifest presence of God, then we have certainly slipped into error.
My response to God (regarding His statement) was to say, "Not my circus! Not my monkeys, Lord!" or, "Hey Pops! These are Your kids, not mine. What are You going to do about it?"
I am so thankful for a Father in Heaven who knows just what to do when His kids get stuck in fruitless cycles. He has to shake things up! It is because of the Lord's great love for us that He has and is continuing to shake down the walls of our religion, shifting us from a 'monument' mentality to a 'MOVEMENT' mentality. We saw this gain traction in 2021, but this move of His Spirit—once it gains momentum—will not be stopped!
Freed from the Merry-Go-Round
In a vision, the Lord showed me a portion of the remnant that He has been preparing in the shakings. They were as horses trapped on a merry-go-round, held in place by bars of demonic resistance to keep them stuck in a system they were not created to operate under. They have been crying out to God for more, as there is a rising sense of longing deep within them to be free of the mundane and the monotony of church as usual. They cannot be satisfied spectators in a pew, for they long to be free, to run in their gifting and calling. (Photo via Max Pixel)
I hear the Spirit of the Lord saying that He is about to loose His restless revivalists; those who have been trapped in what seems like an endless cycle of systems that have been preventing them from moving forward in their full potential and destiny in Christ. No longer will they be barred, but they will be as a calf let out of his stable at winter's end. He is sending them out to run across the countryside without restraint!
From Tame Show Ponies to Wild, Majestic Mustangs
I see in the spirit that as they run into the frontier, they will change in appearance, from show ponies into wild, majestic mustangs. Their manes are a covering of fire that sets them apart, and there is a sold-out sensitivity to yield to the prompting of their rider, who is the Holy Spirit.
These horses are untamable. They will trample every serpent and scorpion, terrorizing Hell in regions and displacing the darkness with the Word of God, which is like fire shut up in their bones. They will not bow down to any system or illegitimate leader who would try to bit and bridal them, or inoculate and indoctrinate them with fear; for they burn with the Spirit of TRUTH, FREEDOM and REVIVAL FIRE. They are pioneering trail blazers for the glory of God everywhere they go, setting captives free.
They are marked by an unbridled passion for Jesus and to see His Kingdom manifest on Earth as it is in Heaven. But they are not lone rangers. They will run with others like them and operate in a culture of honor and humility, knowing that if one wins the race, they ALL win the race. For they run with one mind and one heart; for one Lord and Father of all, and for one prize, which is that of the high call of Christ: LOVE.
They are a new breed that has never been seen before. They will seem to some as ragtag rebels, for they were not made for fenced-in pastures. Their hearts are drawn to the grit of the open fields and dirty country roads as they cry out in the wilderness: "Prepare the way, for the King is coming!"
Circuit Riders
I hear a song of the ages past, interwoven with their DNA, singing out: "In the highways, in the hedges, I'll be somewhere working for my Lord." The Spirit labors with them as they carry all His glory from city to city with the mantle of John Wesley, as well as the Circuit Riders of the Revolutionary and Civil War eras, resting on their shoulders. As they enter a region, they bring in a stampede of salvation with the simple and timeless demonstration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are charged by Heaven to see rural America transformed by rightly representing Jesus and His love for sinners.
Just like the Circuit Riders of old, they will not back down from cultural or political issues that go against the Word of God. Just as the first Circuit Riders were avid abolitionists that carried papers for new converts to release their slaves, so will this generation be as they call for the abolition of modern-day sex slavery, and of the merciless slaughter of innocent babies within the womb. March 2022: The "Unstoppable" & "Even Greater" Are on the Horizon
There is a wind and a rain of the Holy Spirit coming that is unstoppable. It'll be like nothing we've ever seen before. It will change and rearrange systems. It will turn the timid into the untamable. The love of the Father is unbridled in His pursuit of His lost children, and so He is loosing His Kingdom carriers with the same unbridled Spirit that crashed into the grave and raised Christ from the dead.
Be prepared for wild testimonies pouring in about outrageous miracles, signs and wonders taking place outside the walls of the church in rural America! These outpourings will put small, unknown cities in the national news.
In 2021 we saw but a trickle; now the Lord says that "even GREATER" is yet on the horizon! There will be a holy trembling as the fear of the Lord and His awe-inspiring goodness sweep the land! Here come the 'pavement preachers' with the concrete pulpits and the open-air revivalists, drawing spectators from far and wide! They cannot stay fenced in! They must move! Watch in March of 2022 as they begin to march across the land.
Prayer
Lord, I pray that each person reading this would be loosed from the bars of restraint to run freely with You in the wild open spaces! Father, set them free like mighty war horses, running head-long into the battle between light and darkness! As You lead them on, I pray that even now they would mount up as the 'battle breed' they are called to be, full of unbridled passion for You and those whom Your heart longs for!
Release the mantle of John Wesley and a spirit of volunteerism over Your remnant—those who are devoted to calling a generation into Your wild, transformational love! May Your people rightly represent You, and may we get back to the good, old Gospel that never loses its power! In Your mighty name, Jesus!
