Let me just say this about Kyle Miller's article: YOU NEED THIS WORD!

As a prophetic ministry, let me just say that is very, very important that YOU Cooperate with a prophetic Word from the Lord... Yes, there is ACTION we are to take as the Lord leads...and sometimes part of that action is getting some healing first!

If you feel "stuck" this will really help some of you get healing for your soul and walk out your prophetic words as Kyle shares here:

But besides the timing of a prophetic word, could it be that many prophecies are not coming to pass because people have soul wounds?

Now, read this word, declare the powerful prayer Kyle includes, and let the Lord bring healing to your soul!

Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot. And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
Genesis 11:27-28; 31-32

Introduction

Many people are familiar with Genesis Chapter 12. In Genesis Chapter 12, God promises Abram that he will be blessed and from Abram (Abraham) all nations of the earth will be blessed (Genesis 12:3). But many people are not aware of the passages leading up to this colossal promise that God made to Abram and us, his decedents. In Genesis Chapter 11, we see where Abram's father Terah, and his brothers Haran and Nahor, along with their families, were headed to Canaan from the Ur of the Chaldees many years before Abram left to go to Canaan.

If you will recall, Canaan was a very prosperous land filled with plenty that God had promised His people to dwell in. Later, in Exodus, Canaan was described as the "land of milk and honey" (Exodus 3:8). The Scriptures state that Abram's family were on their way to Canaan from where they were living in the Ur of the Chaldees. But when Abram's father died, they never made it to Canaan. It would be 5 years later before Abram (separating from the rest of his family) would depart from the land where his family lived to go to Canaan.

Satan Loves to Use Trauma to Shut Down Our Dreams

There are some valuable lessons in this story concerning Abram's family. We see that Abram's family was called to go to Canaan years before God visited Abram in Genesis Chapter 12. We see that Abram's family left the Ur of the Chaldees on their way to Canaan but stayed in Haran after Abram's dad died. Many times a traumatic incident such as death, failure, a financial setback, health challenges, a bad accident, or a host of many other things can stagnate and even stop us from making progress in God. I truly do believe that Abram's family was destined to make it to Canaan, but when Abram's dad died they decided to camp out in Haran, a land that they were never supposed to stay in away. Interestingly, Haran means "parched". Why would Abram and his family remain in a dry parched location when they were supposed to be headed towards Canaan, the land of milk and honey?

Trauma is a Tool of the Enemy to Keep Us From Advancing in God

Like Abram, while following God's destiny for our lives, it is not uncommon for us to experience set-backs. Although God will use these perceived setbacks as opportunities to strengthen our character, satan will try to use these experiences to make us bitter, resentful, angry, depressed, or succumb to a host of other negative emotions.

Once we open our souls up to these negative emotions, our soul becomes wounded and in need of healing. When our soul becomes wounded, we are no longer able to advance with God because our soul (our mind, will, and emotions) no longer has the capacity to receive everything God is trying to bless us with. A Practical Example of How Trauma Shuts Down Progress

One of my friends from Bible college was doing very well in her calling. After graduating from the Bible college we attended in Los Angeles, she obtained a coveted position at the church ministry that was affiliated with our Bible college. Later, she received a call from her sister, asking her to come live with her in Texas. So my friend moved to Texas and located employment working at a factory.

Later, while in Texas, she experienced an injury on her job that caused her to be on disability. The company that she worked for decided to cut her disability off in an effort to force her to come back to work. However, she was still in pain from her injury. Finally, because she could no longer satisfy the basic requirements of the job, my friend had to quit working for the company. My friend found herself unemployed, broke, and injured.

My friend's soul was wounded! And I could understand why. It looked like satan had thrown everything and the kitchen sink at my friend. As a result, my friend began to question God and ask why were all of these bad things happening to her. Just a few years early, my friend was working full-time for a prestigious ministry in Los Angeles. Now she was in a Texas town, broke, physically injured, and unemployed. I tried to encourage my friend the best I could by giving her inspiring words and praying for her. The prayers helped some, but because she was so disillusioned with her current situation, I don't think my attempt to encourage my friend was working.

Later, God gave me a revelation about the soul, so I began to minister to my friend, praying that God would heal her soul from the wounds of trauma that had been inflicted on her. As soon as I began to minister to her soul, it seems like the dark cloud that was hovering over my friend began to lift. My friend began to regain her purpose and soon afterwards her situation began to turn around. A week after praying for my friend she secured another job paying much more money - and without the physical exertion of her previous job. My friend is doing great now, currently working in ministry with a local church.

When Our Soul is Wounded Our Perception on Reality Becomes Jaded

In II Samuel Chapter 11, the Bible shares the story of David and Bathsheba. The Scriptures state that while David was supposed to be in the heat of battle, he stayed behind and was at his house. While looking out his window, David saw Bathsheba taking a bath. David allowed physical lust to take over, and had his servant to bring Bathsheba to his house so that he could sleep with her (II Samuel 11:1-4).

Later, to cover up his sin, when David found out that Bathsheba was pregnant, he put her husband, Uriah, on the front lines of the war so that he could be killed. David then brought Bathsheba to his house and made her his wife. The Scriptures state that what David did was considered "evil in the sight of God" (Reference II Samuel 11:6-26).

Later, David's prophet Nathan came to speak to him, sharing with him a parable about a man who had a large flock of sheep who saw his servant's one sheep and stole it from him (See II Samuel 12:1-5). After listening to the prophet's story, David became angry and said, "As the Lord lives, the man who has done this deserves to die. He shall make restitution for the ewe lamb four times as much [as the lamb was worth], because he did this thing and had no compassion!" (II Samuel 12:5-6).

Nathan then broke the shocking news to David by replying, "YOU ARE THE MAN!" (II Samuel 12:7, emphasis mine). David then went and repented to the Lord for the sin he committed with Bathsheba. David's mistake destroyed God's promise that David's family would be in peace. On the contrary, after David's sin, God said that the sword would never depart from the house of David (II Samuel 12:10).

How Could David Not Realize What He did Was Wrong?

Because of his sin with Bathsheba, David's perception of right and wrong had become distorted. He had been in his sin so long, that David no longer even realized that what he did was wrong. It had seemed like David had gotten away with sleeping with Bathsheba and killing her husband. But God executed judgment on David and his family. Unfortunately, due to David's sin, the baby that he had with Bathsheba died.

The point I want to make is this: due to his sin with Bathsheba, David's soul became wounded and needed healing. We know this to be true because after his confrontation with Nathan, David says this, "Create in me a clean heart (soul), O God; and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10).

David recognized that his soul needed to be cleansed in order for him to move forward in God. In fact, David had an understanding of how significant the soul is to manifesting the presence and purpose of God because he says in Psalm 23:3, "...He restores my soul." Why would our souls need to be restored, unless they can be wounded? (Photo via Kyle T. Miller)

Soul Hurts May Be Why Your Prophecies Are Not Coming to Pass

Lately, I have been hearing people say things like, "I'm not seeing my prophecies come to pass." Or "I'm tired of hearing good words but nothing is changing." The obvious reason why some prophecies may appear as though they are not coming to pass is that God brings His word to pass according to His divine timing. But besides the timing of a prophetic word, could it be that many prophecies are not coming to pass because people have soul wounds?

If you have received a prophetic word concerning financial prosperity, but you are an emotional shopper, why would God bring you an abundance of finances? Or if you are an emotional eater, why would God bring a word to pass about physical healing when, with your current diet, you would be sick again soon after He healed you? God wants whatever He blesses you with to be sustained.

My Shopping Habits Hindered My Prosperity

I used to be an emotional shopper. Before I got saved, I had a good paying job. And I loved to shop! Whenever I was anxious, depressed, or unclear about what I should do, I would go shopping for clothes. It seems as though every time I bought a designer shirt, pants or accessories, I would experience a euphoria similar to what a drug addict experiences when he or she gets a hit. Later when I got saved, and then went to Bible College, I began to struggle financially. I was so broke that I would lay hands on my cabinets and refrigerator and pray that God would put food in them!

After finishing Bible College, I got another job, and began to go back to my old ways of emotional shopping. But I never had abundance. I was always living from paycheck to paycheck. Yet, I kept getting these prophecies that God was going to financially bless me. Finally, I decided to consult with the Holy Spirit. He told me that the reason why I was struggling financially was because I did not understand how to properly handle money. I was still participating in emotional shopping. (Photo via Kyle T. Miller)

Because of my fractured emotions, I would go shopping in order to fill a void that was in my soul due to the wounds that were still there. God was never going to financially prosper me until my soul got healed. As I began to allow God to heal my soul, I began to realize I didn't need to buy an expensive shirt or pants to be happy. God started to increase my finances while I began to experience prosperity.

Our Happiness, Health and Prosperity Are Directly Connected to Our Soul Prosperity - Prophetic Revelation Can Heal Our Wounds

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers. 3 John 1:2

I am sure that at the passing of their father, Terah, Abram and his family were soul wounded. If you have ever lost a close loved one you know how traumatic it can be. When I lost my dad I felt like my whole life was sucked out of me. We know that Abram's soul was wounded because after Terah died, instead of continuing on to Canaan, the land of milk and honey, his family remained in Haran, a parched, dry land.

However, later in Genesis 12, when God came and visited Abram, He shared with him His prophetic promise. Through this prophetic encounter with God, Abram gained revelation about his purpose. Abram took the prophetic word and used it as a tool to advance towards his destiny - leaving Haran and heading towards Canaan (the Promised Land).

God Wants Your Soul Wounds Healed So That You Can Move Towards Your Promised Land

If you feel as though your soul is wounded due to life circumstances and you would like your soul healed so that you can move towards your Promised Land and receive your prophetic promises - I would like to pray for you.

Pray this prayer out loud:

Dear Lord, I realize that my soul has been wounded. Lord I would first like to repent for any way in which I contributed to this/these soul wounds. I apply the Blood of Jesus to the soul wound of (name your soul wound/wounds). I also repent of any generational iniquity that caused this soul wound going all the way back on both my mother's and father's bloodline.) Now that the Blood has been applied to this/these soul wound(s), I ask that every wound be filled with the glory light of Jesus Christ. Dear Lord, I receive Your glory in Jesus' name. Amen.
