Breast cancer was the most difficult challenge I have ever had to face, and I knew I needed the best medical care I could find. But I also knew I would need spiritual support, because my faith is such a huge part of who I am.
I can't separate who I am physically from who I am spiritually, and my care team at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) understood that and embraced me as a whole person.
When I felt afraid and overwhelmed by the cancer, my nurse held my hand and prayed with me. I felt supported and encouraged by my team at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, from the shuttle bus drivers to the doctors who shared my faith and believed in my ability to overcome breast cancer.
No matter what I needed or when I needed it, someone was always there for me at CTCA®. I wasn't just a cancer patient to them. My team really cared about me, and gave me the physical, spiritual and emotional support I needed to stay strong.
God used the people at Cancer Treatment Centers of America to help me blossom, develop and heal in multiple areas of my life. Partly because of them, I am able to live instead of just exist. I am not just a cancer survivor. I am a cancer thriver.
