Should Bibles be banned from VA displays?

Fellow Christian,

A group called the "Military Religious Freedom Foundation" is fighting to have all copies of the Bible removed from displays honoring U.S. POWs.

Our country's Department of Veterans Affairs has actually banned the Bible from three of these displays in VA hospitals. More will surely follow.

Please sign Colorado Christian University's national petition to the Department of Veterans Affairs demanding that they respect the religious liberty of our men and women in uniform and keep God's Word in POW memorials!

Every signed petition we can gather will be immediately sent to Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald, so once you have signed your petition, please be sure to forward this email to everyone you know who loves our veterans and supports religious freedom.

If you want the Bible to remain in these displays honoring America's heroes, you must sign this online petition to the VA Secretary right now.

My name is Bill Armstrong. I am a retired U.S. Senator and the President of Colorado Christian University (CCU).

Here at CCU, we are working not only to raise up a new generation of young, Christian, conservative leaders who will redeem our culture and our nation for God's glory, but also to defend the Judeo-Christian heritage that has made our nation the greatest on Earth.

It is for that reason that we are deeply troubled by this new effort to tamp down the religious liberty of the very men and women who have fought and suffered to protect our religious liberty.

These Missing Man displays honor America's POWs. They have honored our heroes since the Vietnam War. They are appropriately located in VA hospitals and on military bases.

They include five empty chairs representing the five service branches, a red rose, an inverted glass, a yellow ribbon, salt sprinkled on a plate, a lemon slice, a candle, and a Holy Bible.

This wonderful tradition honoring America's POWs "offends" the radical atheists at the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, so they are fighting to ban the Bible from them entirely.

Please sign our petition right now, and then ask everyone you know to do the same.

Atheists think they can "chip away" at America's Christian traditions and eventually ban every symbol and every mere mention of Christianity from our culture.

By screaming "discrimination" every time they even see a Bible, they believe they can drive Christians out of the public square and underground.

Based on recent judicial history, their strategy could work.

This is exactly the strategy the "gay rights" movement employed to radically redefine marriage.

Here at CCU, we believe Americans of faith have an obligation to defend religious freedom. We are doing everything we can to defend that precious gift -- now, and for generations to come.

We want the national media and the current Administration to know that Christians and other Americans of good will don't support this attempt to ban the Bible.

Please click here. Once you have signed, please forward this email to everyone you know.

The atheist movement and its allies in this Administration believe they can intimidate Christian Americans. They believe that eventually, if they can force us to give in to them enough, they'll turn America into an atheist nation.

That's why they are fighting so hard to ban the Bible from these important displays, and that's why CCU started this national petition drive.

Remember, these displays honor American heroes who were captured, tortured, and oftentimes killed by our nation's enemies.

Faith played an important role in many of these POWs' lives. Faith helped many of them survive their horrible ordeals.

Now, however, this atheist group and the Obama Administration want to ban the Bible from these Missing Man displays.

Please click here to sign our petition, and then please forward this email to everyone you know.

It's up to us to protect these important monuments from the tyranny of atheistic oppression.

Thank you so much for all your help.

William Armstrong
U.S. Senator (CO - Retired)
President, Colorado Christian University
