CANON ANDREW WHITE Having worked for many years in Israel and Palestine, including negotiating the end of the Bethlehem siege in 2002, Canon White moved his base almost exclusively in Iraq, earning him the nickname 'The Vicar of Baghdad.' In the face of significant threats to him personally and repeated bombings of the church, Canon White pastored one of the largest churches in Iraq, St George’s Baghdad. Since the rise of ISIS in Iraq, Canon Andrew is now working with refugees fleeing Iraq and Syria, providing spiritual, humanitarian, and medical care. Canon Andrew is also the President of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East which exists to support his unique work in the Middle East. When not in the Middle East or travelling, Andrew’s home base is in Hampshire with his wife Caroline and his two sons Jacob and Josiah.
