I Found Myself "Confronting God" -- to His Face. Shockingly, He Responded

   It was just a few years ago. I never thought I’d do it. I certainly didn’t plan to do it.

   Something happened and suddenly, while I was in my room alone, sick as a dog, this thing boiled up in me and I let loose on the LORD and blasted Him with “both barrels” as they say. “I let Him have it and I used the Word of God when I did.”

   I’ve told this story publicly and when I did, I said, “I don’t recommend this. I’m just telling you what I did. And I’m telling you what God did!”

   Now I’m not sure. Maybe I DO recommend this!

   It shocked me because God responded...to me personally...and He responded with healing...for me...personally!

   What?

   Why would He do that? I deserved to be squashed like a bug!

   Why would God take the anger I unleashed on Him and respond with “healing in His wings,” as it were?

   I’ve spent a couple years processing that and I finally came to a much deeper understanding of why God didn’t wipe me off the face of the earth! He should have! But instead, He returned to me a blessing instead?

   I’ve pondered and prayed over this now for a few years. I just recently asked Him why He did that. I mean just weeks ago.

   And He responded, “Steve, you’ve been contending with me your whole life!”

   “I have, Lord?”

   “Yes you have!” And the Lord began to “play for me” the scenes in my life where I’d contended with God and He came through for me.
